“Let us all take more responsibility, not only for ourselves and our families but for our communities and our country.” - Bill Clinton Said but not meant, because in fact the Clinton Dynasty is riddled with disgusting offenses legal or moral. They are liars, criminals, and blatantly unpatriotic. There have been scandals, secrets, and conspiracies surrounding the Clintons and although they may not be able to be proven it is definitely true that Mr. and Mrs. Bill Clinton lie. First not only would I like to point out the biggest lie but also the one that almost landed Bill out of office. This instance occurred when he lied under oath in 1998 and resulted in an impeachment. Not only can you question their legality …show more content…
I understand that people understand her and I respect her and her supporters in that way. Bill was a very successful president and I respect him for his contributions to the country such as extremely low unemployment, and on a piece of paper the Clintons look like clean perfect people. Though you have to look at it through my eyes. I see deceptive selfish people trying to get in the White House. I understand that the candidates this year are crazy but, can you even believe what Hillary or her husband says? If they lie to each other and the whole United States. “People can judge me for what I've done. And I think when somebody's out in the public eye, that's what they do. So I'm fully comfortable with who I am, what I stand for, and what I've always stood for.” - Hillary Clinton To conclude I think we should judge her for what she has done and if people did she probably wouldn't be in Cedar Rapids she would be in prison. Hillary and Bill are not good people they will lie to you and might even steal your money but most of all. They don't care when they do it they are addicted to the fallacy that they can do what they want. So, how much do you want criminals, liars, and patriotic my neglectful people in the White House. I think
The Clintons denied any wrongdoing and that they never had lost money on the Whitewater scheme. In 1994, Counsel Kenneth Starr investigated the wrongdoings by Clinton and his wife. The Clintons were also charged of perjury, obstruction of justice, and abuse of power, but Starr wasn’t able to prove it. In the Whitewater affair the Clintons were investigated on videotapes of their testimonies. In a 1996 trial, the Mc Douglas and Jim Tucker (Clintons successors as governor of Arkansas) were found guilty of fraud. Also David Hale pled guilty to fraud and was a witness of the McDougal, which he received a jail sentence. The Clintons were not found guilty, but Hillary Clinton was charge of damaging information and accused President Clinton administration of lying under oath.
None of this would have been much of a problem had Monica Lewinsky had not told Tripp that Bill Clinton and Vernon Jordan instructed her to lie about the affair with Clinton. Supposedly Linda Tripp has Monica alleging this on tape. These tapes if finally released to the public should prove to be quite titillating, Monica Lewinsky claims that Clinton was very fond of oral sex and that she it to him on a number of occasions. It has been alleged by various news organizations that a secret service agent actually caught Lewinsky and Clinton in the act. It has also been alleged that Monica Lewinsky has a blue semen stained dress which, if true, would be direct DNA evidence of the affair. But it still would not prove obstruction of justice. If that was ever proven it could be an impeachable offence, a sexual scandal probably would not lead to the impeachment of Bill Clinton. If not then it will simply be a source of Bill Clinton jokes.
"I ask that all Americans demonstrate in their personal and public lives... the high ethical standards that are essential to good character and to the continued success of our Nation."
The first lady appears to be trustworthy, in that she holds true to her contract of marriage although her husband has made and abomination of the sacred agreement. The marriage now, however, may actually be more political, but Mrs. Clinton makes it seem that she is not giving up on the marriage, a strong virtue especially in today's society. Mrs. Clinton is also a great liberal and advocates for many minority groups such as homosexuals. This appearance, whether it be true or false, appeals to the greater number of her constituents who are increasingly liberal.
Mr. Clinton left office with low public ratings and a title of conflict. In 1998 this was the number one topic you would speak about and to this day thinking back on the 90s this scandal surely comes to mind. Since the start of Hillary’s run for presidency we have been reminded of the mistakes of Bill Clinton that happened over a decade ago forgetting to separate his life from presidency and privacy. There were many consequences that followed Bill around at the time of the scandal many of those publicized. “President Clinton made a brief appearance in the White House Rose Garden and stated: ' 'Now that the Senate has fulfilled its constitutional responsibility, bringing this process to a conclusion, I want to say again to the American people how profoundly sorry I am for what I said and did to trigger these events and the great burden they have imposed on the Congress and on the American people."(The History Place) Mr. Clinton is known to be the most controversial president to date. “Widely considered the most investigated President ever, the Clinton administration was dogged by controversy from the very beginning.” (The History
(Kennedy, 1961) This quote by itself has shown up in textbooks, general literature, and other writings probably more than any of the other phrases in the speech. It is powerful because it lists out all the responsibilities for Americans without being elaborated.
Finally, President Obama calls for action. He reminds us, through anaphora, that “our journey is not complete” until we are all equal and more opportunistic, per-se. Obama tells us that that is our task, alluding to the Declaration of Independence, to “make these words, rights, these values of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness real for every American” is a task that we will all go through together as one to achieve for all. Concluding his speech, the president reminds us that we are the hope; we ARE the change.
When she concluded her speech, Hillary kept using the repetition of the words dignity, respect, family and children. Clinton’s credibility is not questioned when she says she has been working on the case, “Over the past 25 years, I have worked persistently on issues relating to women, children, and families” (Clinton). This is the way she knows about women and their necessities, “I’ve had the opportunity to learn more about the challenges facing women in my country and around the world” (Clinton). Her goal is definite, “To strengthen families and societies by empowering women to take greater control over their own destinies”( Clinton). This change will not only affect women, but everyone who surrounds them.
A couple weeks ago, I was sitting on the hallway waiting for my class to start when I heard a couple commenting about politics. Immediately their conversation caught my attention; I am always curious to know what other people think about the topic and their reasoning behind it. As it was expected, Hillary Clinton came up during their debate. To the mere mentioning of the name, one started to giggle, arguing that how was she supposed to be a president and control a nation when she cannot even control her husband or at least make him happy. Clinton should be so mean and so frigid that Bill did not have other choice but to commit infidelity. I was perplexed after having heard such theories. She did not ask to be betrayed, yet she was guilty
Hillary Clinton is running a campaign for a GOP nomination, in which much of her support is based on her persona as an advocate of women’s rights. Depictions of Clinton’s projected image have little basis in fact. While she is not overtly misogynistic or racist like other politicians who are running for presidency, her actions as a policymaker have had the same devastating impacts to non-white women locally in America and abroad as her male peers. Though Clinton is one of the first women to run for presidency and be taken seriously (which certainly is to due to white privilege), she still condones foreign policies that destroy the lives of women around the world.
Some people believe her values are “a result of having lived through the depression” (Harris 673). She has seen the worst and hopes to make things better for her people. As a child, Clinton was “earning merit badges in girl scouts and starring in the girls softball league” (Harris 674). She has always believed women were smart and strong. Earning badges and playing sports might not seem like much, but it taught a young Clinton that women can do anything they set their mind to. Clinton went off to college and met her husband Bill Clinton there. As the couple got older, Bill decided he wanted to run for president. Hillary “went to Indiana to coordinate the campaign” (Harris 678) for Bill. From the start to the end of Bill’s presidency, Hillary was “extremely active in government affairs” (Hurley 204). She “[emphasized] the need for a global feminist agenda” (Hurley 204-205). Even though Bill was the president, Hillary applied herself as if she were the president. She encouraged equality for genders. Her speech “Women’s Rights Are Human Rights” was given right in the middle of Bill’s presidency. She used her economic power to create awareness of the gender inequality in the
At first we listen and listen and listen but eventually got bored. Not a whole lot of people felt comfortable smelling someone dirty laundry which was aired for a very, very long time. I personally got tired of this never ending story a very long time ago, since I have a great deal of respect for Mr. Clinton. I love the guy and no I am not talking romantically. I love Mr.
“Hillary Clinton respects good ideas wherever they come from. That's something I haven't seen in a lot of powerful people.” - Ronan Farrow. Hillary Clinton has many ideas of what she would like to do while in office. If Hillary Clinton is elected president preschool will be universal for every 4-year-old in America, colleges in America will be tuition-free, and there will be guaranteed paid family leave.
Throughout the debate, Clinton uses a lot of positive language and good and charismatic terms. She rarely ever uses negative language to describe her candidate or things that he has done and I feel like she could have used some words to help her persuade the audience in listening to her points. Using different terms could have increased her credibility and ability to gain and persuade the audience. I would tell her to focus on certain words that could have helped her make points in a strong and effective way. When she talks about her beliefs and things she would do if she won the presidency is a great time to use words that make her sound like the more credible and reliable candidate. Clinton needed to in some ways match the intensity of her
I choose to research Hillary Clinton because I admire the drive and passion she puts into her work. She is a unique global leader whose activism has promoted social change around the world. Warren Bennis, author of On Becoming a Leader author says that, “…true leaders are not born, but made, and they are usually self-made (Bennis, p. 35, 2009).” Hillary is a prominent example of a self-made leader. She invented herself as a public figure through her dedication to human rights and equality. Over the last three decades she has gained the respect and admiration of people around the world. She has spent a career working towards improving people's lives.
