Denise is a 58-year-old female who suffers from plaque psoriasis (L40.0). Her symptoms include raised, red, rough, cracked, erythematous, silvery, scale, plaques located on her upper and lower extremities. Denise has tried and failed various treatments including Enbrel, enstilar, taxlonex, all provided her with little to no relief. Tremfya is a biologic (a drug made in a lab from living cells) that prevents your immune system from going into overdrive and creating an undesired immune response resulting in inflammation. The drug has been proven effective in reducing the symptoms of moderate to severe plaque psoriasis – including itch, pain, stinging, burning and skin tightness – in adults who are candidates for systemic therapy (injections or
pills) or phototherapy (treatment using ultraviolet or UV light). A Phase 3 NAVIGATE trial showed patients who didn't adequately respond to Stelara treatment who then switched to Tremfya therapy developed significantly improved skin clearance compared to those who only received the older drug. Living with plaque psoriasis is challenging, especially the constant pain, itching and burning, for this reason I am asking you cover Tremfya for Denise so that her condition will not worsen, causing unnecessary pain, suffering and embarrassment. Tremfya is her best treatment option at this time.

that cause dark red blotches on the skin, usually on the face). Laboratory tests are another consideration of diagnosis. Tests consist of anti-nuclear anti-body (ANA) counts and anti-topoisomerase (an enzyme that reduces super-coiling in DNA by breaking and rejoining one or both strands of DNA). High ANA’s and low anti-topoisomerases are found in patients with Raynaud syndrome. (Desai, 2003) “Patients with circulating autoantibodies, antinuclear antibodies, and anti-Scl 70 antibodies are at (an) increased risk of developing a connective tissue disease. Systemic sclerosis is the connective tissue disease most frequently associated with Raynaud’s phenomenon.” (Bowling, 2003) This syndrome is described as primary Raynaud phenomenon (PRP) if is not associated with another disorder and as secondary Raynaud phenomenon (SRP) if it occurs in association with another disorder.
Raynaud’s disease is caused by episodic vasospasms (attacks) of the peripheral arteries during changes of cold weather or stress (Carrasco 2008). The hands and feet turn a bluish/purple from lack of circulation which causes the limbs to feel cold. Vasodilation will occur quickly and result in the extremities feeling hot and painful (Carrasco 2008). Non pharmaceutical treatments for Raynaud’s disease include acupuncture, massage therapy, and nitric oxide, which test the duration (Appiah 1997, Tucker 1999, Walton 2007). Massage therapy and nitric oxide prove to decrease the duration, but acupuncture does not (Appiah 1997, Tucker 1999, Walton 2007).
PhenRx claims to do it all. From suppressing your appetite to boosting your metabolism, it seems like there’s nothing that this drug’s “revolutionary” formula can’t accomplish. Better still, the makers of PhenRx seem to not only know the exact parts of your body where you’d like to lose weight, but why so much weight accumulates in those parts in the first place, as well. Most importantly, PhenRx claims to be able to get rid of that weight, leaving you slim, fit and healthy.

The Beauty Industry being such a wide market of services and products include providing for the care of our skin, hair, selling of perfumes and cosmetics (“What is the Beauty Industry?”2014) and now developing more extensively into basic cosmetic surgery and treatments, now gives society a big opportunity to pamper and nourish themselves in more extensive ways. Throughout this essay, the branches of dermatology and dermal therapies will be explained; common skin disorders and specifically a treatment called ‘Ultrasonic Peeling’ and how it can potentially help with skin disorders imposed today will be explored and described in detail. After the investigation of what Ultrasonic Peeling is and how it works, I will also state my opinion on how well I think the treatment benefits its users, give my evaluation if I would consider using it, what I think the positives and negatives are and in scenario, assess whether it is a treatment that more salons should consider offering.
Omega-3 fatty acids have greater benefits in protecting the body against damage by diseases. According to a study written in article in the PMC site that was done on 30 patients, who were a sample of the research on the efficacy of omega-3 fatty acids, a conclusion was made that; omega-3 fatty acids can be effective in treating psoriasis. It also reduces Psoriasis Area and Severity Index (PASI) and Nail Psoriasis Severity Index (NAPSI). Below are the benefits of omega-3 to psoriatic arthritis;
Psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis are two symptoms of a single disease caused by an overactive immune system attacking the skin and joints of the affected individual. The “t-cells” or white blood cells that fight infection within your body are also the cause of psoriasis. Psoriasis is characterized by red patches of inflamed skin with a build-up of silvery-white colored dead skin or scale. Psoriatic arthritis is similar to rheumatoid arthritis as it is an inflammation of the joints. This inflammation can cause pain, stiffness, and even disfigurement. The same white blood cells attacking the skin are also attacking the cartilage in the joints. However, what is causing the white blood cells to attack the skin and joints is still unclear.
I have attached a list of supplements. Primary use is anti-inflammatory along with general vitamins and nootropics. I no longer have RA, I believe this recovery is due to the anti-inflammatory supplement cocktail that I have dialed in over the past several years and continue to tweak. I acknowledge the rashes may be a side effect of a supplement or any combination thereof. I am a diligent researcher and do not choose a supplement willy-nilly, carefully evaluating and understanding interactions as well as scholarly research. Even so, I welcome your expertise. Although, I have not taken any supplements for the last two
Psoriasis is an autoimmune disease that affects 125 million people world wide according to the World Psoriasis Day consortium. What causes psoriasis is unknown, but many doctors and researches believe that genetics and environmental factors trigger a hyperactive reaction of the immune system. This response then causes skin cells to multiply and mature rapidly, therefore causing the skin cells to buildup on top of each other and then eventually become red, scaly, itchy, and thick patches on skin. Even though this disease is the most common auto-immune disease in the world, there is no cure for it. Psoriasis can lead to other problems depending on the severity of the disease, however, this chronic disease has several treatment options in order to prevent further damage. Although there is no cure for psoriasis, understanding how it begins, recognizing the symptoms, and learning about treatment options can enhance the quality of life for a person diagnosed with psoriasis.
Psoriasis is a chronic skin disorder, easily identified by its symptoms of white, scaly skin and red lesions, though not so easily cured or understood. In psoriasis, skin cells mature faster than the body can shed them, causing a buildup. Although there are many theories as to what the cause of such a disease might be – genetics, stress, or other triggers – no one is quite sure why the disease occurs, or what could be a possible way to fully cure it. In this essay we will explore the symptoms, types, and effects of this condition, and also some of the known treatments.
"Evaluate the benefits and problems associated with medical or industrial uses of nuclear energy with reference to one specific radioisotope"
On average, one person will walk about 150 million steps in their lifetime (Phillips). What if these footsteps could actually be harnessed and converted to a form of energy that could actually help power the world? The very notion seems to come straight out of a science fiction novel about a utopian society. However, one man has taken the steps to make this dream a reality. Laurence Kemball-Cook has developed a product called Pavegen; essentially, it is a rubber tile that can, “harvest kinetic energy from the impact of people stepping on them” (Jain). By harnessing energy generated from footsteps, Pavegen can help to power appliances such as cellphones and streetlights. The idea behind Pavegen is to develop an accessible product that can help lower economic bills, and to make a positive impact environmentally. If similar products were produced around the world, Pavegen tiles could help businesses in taking one step closer to building a sustainable and environmentally whole planet Earth.
Psoriasis affects a number of people all around the year. They can make use of banana peels to get rid of the condition. The inside of the peel should be rubbed on the affected area for psoriasis natural treatment. Initially the area will become red, however with persistent use the difference caused to the skin will be noticeable.
