Frequent flyers now have an edge when it comes to booking flights, hotels, car rentals, and more by utilizing the benefits of various travel reward programs. These programs, made possible by credit card companies as a means to increase usage, offer points for every dollar spent on a purchase. But before you go full steam ahead and sign up for one of these travel reward programs, you need to think about how often you travel, where you’d like to travel to, and your current location (you’ll see why this is an important aspect you shouldn’t overlook). You’ll also want to explore whether a fixed value or transferable reward card works best for you. After all, the difference between both can be substantial, and what works for one person will surely not work for another.
First thing is first, though. As stated above, you really want to think about how often you travel. If the answer is not often, then you might as well go for another reward program that offers you restaurant gift cards, electronics, or even cash back. Sometimes, these cards even offer airline travel rewards. Your points will be better spent this way, and you won’t have card companies nagging you about how you need to spend your points soon to take advantage of your travel rewards. If you have nowhere to go, those points are just going to sit, and that’s a complete waste.
If you decide that a travel reward card is the right option for you, you want to find the best card for your needs. This may mean doing some research to see which card is going to offer you the most bang for your buck. For instance, a card offering bonus points within a certain timeframe is going to allow you to accumulate points quicker.
Some cards tend to offer more points than others. For example, ...
... middle of paper ...
... be used.
Black-out dates are a common concern, especially if you’re looking to travel during peak times. For instance, if you’re looking to take a relaxing family vacation to Florida, you may want to avoid doing so during Memorial Day Weekend or New Year’s Eve. This can have a huge impact on your travel reward points, rendering the entire thing useless if you can’t plan your trip exactly as you wanted.
In short, you’re going to want a find a card that offers you flexibility and a decent amount of points for your money. You don’t want to have to spend an exorbitant amount of money to get those points, but you also don’t want to be swindled out of cash only to be “rewarded” with a less than desirable amount towards your next flight, hotel accommodations, or rental car. The choice is yours. And with enough research, you know you’ll eventually be making the right one.
Also, the rewards program is based off a point system and when one has earned a certain amount of points they send them a gift card to spend however they wish. Though, what the consumers don’t know is that by applying for their free rewards program, they are collecting data and constructing analysis to make them into loyal consumers.

Loyalty Program - Being a tech junkie myself I find this to be one of my favorites. With the advent of Near Field Communications (NFC) such as Bluetooth, ApplePay, Paypal etc, instead of using the normal punch cards as a customer rewards system, an app can automatically track rewards and apply them at the time of purchase. Most people don’t leave their home without a smart device, and utilizing a medium that is almost always carried by the vast majority of customers, that can remove the hassle of keeping track of punch cards or delaying the customer purchasing experience by holding up lines, etc, can be a powerful tool, as well as a surprise to the customer when they pay for a cup of coffee, and all of the sudden it is “free”, because their rewards were automatically applied at

Before to select the proper alternative, three alternatives were analysed and evaluated under four decisions criteria: customer experience, cost, growth rate / market penetration and ease to implementation (See Exhibit 2: Factor Analysis). Between all the alternatives, it was suggested that Southwest Airlines enters to New York City by bidding the slots and gates at the LGA (See Exhibit 3: Alternatives Analysis). This alternative sustains the challenge of changing the customer experience which means adding more flights from and to the East; furthermore, entering to new markets will reinforce “the power of the network” through LGA. At the same time, this decision will allow signing more code-sharing agreements with other airlines flying to international destinations and offer new products and services to LUV customers as loyalty rewards, in-flight internet, onboard duty-free purchases, etc.; as a result of this, it will increase passenger’s insights and experiences by flying with Southwest Airlines. Nevertheless, there is potential risk by selecting this alternative, in the recent years the energy prices has had a huge increase affecting costs, fares and even capacity needed, however Southwest Airlines has been able to hedge fuel for decad...
Financial wellness is a necessity for successfully going through not only college but all of life. Managing your finances can be stressful especially when there is such much to do in the world. Something I am really passionate about is traveling. My parents instilled this into me from when I was very young. Now that I am older, it is time for me to adventure on my own without my parents. It is exciting until I realize I have no money to do so. On iGrad, I decided to look up travel and what I found was an article titled, “Top Tricks for Cheap Student Travel This Summer,” by Mackenzie Maher. This article brought up many ideas I never even thought of. Here are just a few I thought were interesting.

This allows for hotel employees to view such rewards if a customer were to schedule a reservation that had been given a discount. With the advent of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) technology, casinos have found a solution to more accurately classify its patrons and properly direct its marketing efforts to the right customer segment. The essential objective of CRM is to attract and maintain loyal, profitable customers. Loyal because it is common knowledge that longtime customers tend to patronize more and are easier and cheaper to maintain rather than trying to acquire new customers. Profitable because this is what makes or breaks the business. With the use of loyalty cards based CRM systems, casinos now are able to proactively identify high margin customers daily throughout their operations and once they are identified, casinos go all out to ensure that these customers are given extraordinary service, from free meals, tickets to shows, room, and even limo and helicopter services. These rewards do not come cheap, and at first glance, may appear to be an unnecessary expense. This might have been a valid argument in the past, where casinos may have spent more on marketing to each customer than they could ever recoup from them.
