1. ALL TRAVEL VOUCHERS DUE WITHING FIVE WORKING DAYS. An independent public accountant and auditor identified a deficiency in controls over voucher submissions when auditing Department of the Navy (DoN) Travel Voucher program. The auditor determined that the travel voucher submission was not operating effectively due to travel vouchers not being submitted within five working days from servicemembers return/relocation. Non-compliance to file vouchers within five working days impact Sailors entitlements, the timely recording of financial transactions, and result in overall misstatement of DoN financial records. Timely resolution requires all commands immediate compliance and enforcement of travel policies and procedures. A previous NFCU spearphishing campaign targeted over three thousand Navy users with a NFCU account. The most recent campaign subject line may be “Account Notification”.
