World class engineers are not a normal engineer. They are not categorized by just their degree, but by their work and experiences in the field of engineering. Getting my degree in Civil Engineering is only the beginning. There are many steps I still need to take to first graduate then proceed on from that. Becoming a world class engineer takes in many feats and skills. You cannot just graduate and become the best at something. This is the ethical stage of progress, my future achievements will affect people I have to take them into consideration. Somethings are on the borderline evil when you look at it in other people's view. An example of this would be building a pipeline that cuts through the Indian city of Calcutta destroying their only food source. It is already a starving city, now for you and your employers this is good because they get what they want and you get paid. This is not right morally not right at all. To innovate is to create new or find a new way of doing things. This is a crucial skill I need to learn before I even get into the workforce. This process involves complex and non-routine procedures that focus on your objective. Me and every other engineer have to adapt our workload to meet our goals. How can I learn this skill? First when I have a problem I can look at all the solutions and when I get to the last one I make more. There is never one way to go with a problem even after deducting every solution, there is still a way. Being updated in the company is good to know your resources you can utilize but knowing the globe will dictate how far you can stretch those resources. That's why being Engaged Globally is so key to being more than the average Joe. Different diversities of people do not understand what you are doing or may have some other knowledge that is key to your project. So, over all, this helps you get a better understanding that ethical dilemmas happen for all people, in all walks of life, in many different situations. It shows us we must pay attention to our actions and the actions of others around us. As long as we follow the rules, and ask for a little direction when we don’t know what to do, we will all be better off in our careers as helpers.
Looking at things with a different perspective has been the mother of innovation from times immemorial. For example, Galileo defied the conventional norms in researching the solar system and explained the relative position of different planets with respect to the Sun. Additionally, Darwin’s ability to look at things differently lead to the concept of evolution at a time when God was considered to be the creator of everything in this world. A world-class engineering student, also known as an “expert learner,” is characterized by taking charge of their learning process, being active in their approach to learning, being motivated and disciplined as well as setting specific goals for themself. Becoming a world-class engineering student is a process that takes time and diligence. In order to become a world-class engineering student, I will have to identify where I stand currently in terms of goal setting, community building, academic development and personal development, where a world-class engineering student would be in each of those areas, and what I have to do in order to become a world-class engineering student.

I have always dreamed of becoming one of them. For realizing this dream, I started from China 's Jilin University and then joined The University of Manchester for BEng (Hons) Electronic Engineering to take more advanced professional courses. In UoM, I managed to gain GPA of 4.0. Yet, my pursuit of the dream does not end there, since I plan to apply for M.S. program in Electrical and Computer Engineering in the Carnegie Mellon University, where I can receive the best education among the world.
