Becoming a certified dog breeder is based on the premises of both ethics and morality, which are revered obligations. The entire goal of a breeding program´s certification is primarily to raise the standards of the dogs in care. Currently, there is no institution available which delivers education in the formal fashion of educational systems for official certification. However, there are numerous entities which offer dog breeding courses for profit, or non-profit, means. These individual organizations provide dog breeders the certified documentation that they would normally obtain from an education institution without the interest of governmental parties …show more content…
Simply, these certificates are merely a piece of paper that, in summation, just shows that said person has taken a relevant course and competed it to the end. Due to these courses not having any outside governmental influence, or not being readily overseen by higher authority, such certification does not offer clues in respect to how selective the process actually was. The information available which pertains to the actual breeder and his membership in the breeding field is rather limited with these course breeding certificates, thus, doesn´t usually suffice.
With that being said, it will always remain an issue in which one should obtain certification for basic show and use it for its advantage in the business. In taking this route, what actually does affect the overall prominence of the breeder is the institution of the dog breeder certification itself. Therefore, the only facet one must consider when choosing to pay for a dog breeding course and getting officially “certified” is really how specialized, reputable, and trusted the platform is. These highly qualified programs can prove to be tremendous guides to the breeder and offer ample support in the

Introduction and Background As more people bring dogs into their homes, the rate of dog attacks continue to increase. In an attempt to reduce violent dog attacks on citizens, many U.S. States are turning to a tactic known as Breed Specific Legislation. Breed-specific legislation (also known as BSL), also referred to as breed-discriminatory legislation (also known as BDL), is a law or ordinance that prohibits or restricts the ownership of specific breeds of dogs, and/or dogs presumed to be mixes of one or more of those breeds (Breed-specific legislation (BSL) FAQ, n.d.). The harshest of the BSL laws is a complete ban, which prohibits breeds of dogs from being kept within state borders. Breed specific legislation also includes less absurd limits that include mandatory spay and neutering, muzzling, property posting requirements, special insurance requirements, breed-specific limitations, and various other rules.
The term “breed-specific legislation” is not one that comes up often in day-to-day discussion for most people. Breed-specific legislation refers to all laws that seek to restrict or eliminate ownership of certain animal breeds, most often dog breeds. It was first conceived as a method of controlling and reducing animal cruelty, as well as mitigating the occurrence of dog-related human injuries and the illegal activities of dog-fighting and related crimes. Breed-specific legislation is distinct from animal control laws that restrict ownership of wild or demonstrably dangerous (those with a past history of unacceptable, aggressive behavior) animals, because breed-specific legislation makes a blanket restriction on all animals of a certain breed regardless of individual history. This means that breed-specific legislation is often promulgated on the basis of breed reputation.
There are no perfect dogs in the world but only the most suitable dogs in our family. If we love our most faithful friends, we should not bring pain to them. If we love purebred dogs, we should take good care of them. If we do not excessive pursue purebred, there will be less genetic problems in purebred dogs. Don’t make more purebred dogs cry; don’t make more purebred puppies suffer more genetic diseases, don’t make more homeless purebred dogs, don’t make more purebred dogs die in the shelters. They have already devoted too much for us, so now, it is time for us to do something for them.
Currently, under the federal Animal Welfare Act of 1966, the USDA licenses and inspects about six thousand puppy mills nationally. Thirty percent of them are Missouri, making the mid-western state “the puppy mill capital of the country”. Most states have one kennel per 100,000 residents, but Missouri has one kennel per every 3,000 residents. As it stands now, in most states, these commercial breeding kennels can legally keep hundreds of dogs in cages their entire lives, for the sole purpose of churning out...
Every competitor has a question when showing. The question that may come up is what breed of horse do judges prefer? The real answer is that judges don’t necessarily care what breed of horse you have. Their real focus is on the the horse's structure and confirmation. Confirmation includes your horse’s balance and degree of muscling. However, some experts say the American Quarter horse is the best breed to show, “perhaps nowhere else is the breed’s versatility, heritage and work ethic more apparent than in the show arena” (“AQHA Competition Classes”). American Quarter horses are better for showing because “they change leads precisely, easily, and simultaneously” (“AQHA Competition Classes”). Regardless of the horse’s breed, any horse can be trained to do well in the show ring.
Every day hundreds of dogs end up in the pounds all around New Zealand. Why, you might ask? Well, the problem is backyard breeders. A backyard breeder is a person who breeds dogs without being a registered breeder, who does not maintain the breed standard and temperament. They breed dogs regardless even if they have serious health issues which may be passed onto their offspring causing genetic defects.
Take a moment and picture a dog in your head. What do you see? You may see many different things depending on your own personal encounters with the species. There are many types of dogs out there. Some small, some large, long-haired or short-haired. There are many variances in what a dog can look like. One thing that does not change, or should not change, is the importance for every dog in this world to be given love and affection, no matter its characteristics. This is what leads me to believe that the obsession with producing and owning purebreds needs to come to a halt. Continuing to create these so-called “best dogs” is dangerous to not only the purebred’s health, but also devalues mixed breeds and can cost them their lives in animal shelters where they may never escape. My interest in this topic caused me to look into seeing what other people felt about it.

In the essay “Black American Social Identity and its Blackness” by Lionel K. McPherson, McPherson discusses the complexities of Black Identity ranging from cultural and political aspects. Throughout the text, McPherson talks about how he presumes that black people are pushed into their stereotypes based on societal pressures and viewpoints of black people. From my interpretation of his work, McPherson indicates that being black is more about the individual's personality than the stereotypes perpetuated by society. This essay also discusses the importance of highlighting diversity within the black community, how multifaceted and significant black identity is in America, and how it is connected to how society should strive for equality and civility
Specific Purpose: To bring attention to the issue of dog breed discrimination through Breed Selective Legislation (BSL) and inform the audience how they can change it.
You will realize that dog training basically builds a solid relationship between you and your dog. It establishes you as a pack leader. The time you spend together as a team, learning about each other, normally deepens your bond.
I was in a local pet store buying food for my cat when I started discussing my potential new pet with the shop owner. He informed me that some people try to breed dogs with specific desired traits in mind. In this case it could have led to inbreeding and there was a chance that the dogs would have temperament issues as well. I felt bad for the dogs but I didn't feel comfortable a large dog that could have temperament problems.
