My father and Batman are both seen as heroes to me because they both share similar qualities such as bravery, perseverance, and understanding. For example, there was a time where my family went to the community park and we witness a brush fire started near the tennis courts. A lot of people were scared and didn’t know what to do but my father started getting jugs of water and started to try and put out the fire. My father was one of the only people who tried to put out the fire. Even though he knew he potentially could’ve gotten hurt, he still did it to protect others. Just like how Batman would protect the citizens of Gotham City from villains like The Joker, Bane or The Penguin. Batman knows he can potentially die facing off with these enemies but has the courage to do it anyways because he has to protect his city no matter what, like my dad trying to protect his family from the brush fire. Another characteristic he shares with Batman is his perseverance. …show more content…
My father is always wanting to help the family in any way possible, even if he has trouble with it in the start.
Whether it's building benches without any construction experience so we can enjoy ourselves in the backyard or trying to plan a family vacation with the little money we had, my father would manage to make things happen. For instance, I was struggling with homework and asked my father for help, he didn't know the problem either so he searched how to do it online and taught me. Not knowing the problem didn't stop my dad from trying to help me. Batman also perseveres, not having any superpowers gives him a major disadvantage when being compared to other superheros like Superman or Wonder Woman but that doesn’t stop Batman from fighting crime. Whether it's through his gadgets or martial arts batman still finds a way to stop bad guys without the help of superpowers. With my father and Batman both showing perseverance they both show another trait, just like batman my father is a very understanding
person. My father doesn't judge you based on your acts but on the reasons why you did them. An example is when I got in trouble for fighting a guy because he was harassing my friend. My father was the first to be notified and wanted to talk to me about what happened. I told him what happened and he told me "I'm glad you fought for somebody else instead of for yourself." My father would’ve grounded me because he heard that was in a fight, but now that he knows the reason behind my actions he was understanding enough to let it slide and look past it. Similar to batman, he tried saving Red Hood by disarming a bomb even though Red Hood tried killing him. But knowing that the reason why Red Hood wanted to kill him was because he failed saving him before, Batman still tried defusing the bomb believing that Red Hood is only acting through hatred. All these characteristics that my father own can be seen as superhero characteristic, the same characteristic batman has, and for that reason I see my father as a hero.
But I do know one thing, Batman was there for us when we needed him the most. He separated us from our darkest nightmares every night. He guarded our houses and protected our families, our friends, and our children. Batman stood up for what he believed, he always had us, the people of Gotham in his best interest. What more could we have asked Batman to do? I could stand up here and say "I never knew the man," but that might not be the truth. During my life, I have known many men, many men who are full of strength, courage, and virtue. Any of these men could have been the Batman and I would have never been aware. However good men still walk among us today, even without Batman. These good men and women are my hope, my consolation for
There are many similarities between Batman- a modern day hero making use of his intellect, modern technology, and detective skills on crime and warfare and the classic hero, Beowulf- who travels great distances to prove his strength against his enemies, even at impossible odds. For example, the simplest being that they are both heroes working towards the common good, saving others without twice thinking of their own safety. However there are also many differences: obvious ones such as the fact they were born centuries apart, and subtle ones like the importance placed on humility with Batman versus self-confidence with Beowulf.
The purpose of this paper is to provide the reader with an insight into the Super Hero Series Batman. This crime fighter originally appeared in Detective Comics issue #27 in 1939. In this paper, we will explore the creation of Batman, his supporting cast of characters both good and bad and the gadgets he used.
Through reading about these heroes, kids believe that there are good things that happen to good people. These heroes encourage many kids when they’re young, and provide them with right and wrong. For example, many fairy tales and comic stories show kids the kinds of behaviors that need in order to succeed in life, to improve society, and to overcome hard times. They become their example of healthy adult role models who through hard times and many contractions they were able to react positively and overcome hard times. Heroes prove to them that no matter how much suffering and hardships in the world, there are good people, who always do the right thing and provide us with hope in hard times. Heroes do provide courage for us to overcome emotionally, physically, or spiritually
Batman: (Danny Elfman) This was Elfman's breakthrough score, catapulting him into the mainstream scoring business. Many traditionally classical composers may find fault with Elfman's dark and uniquely strange score for Batman (or, for that matter, any of Elfman's scores), but it doesn't change the fact that Batman was one of the highpoints for soundtracks of the 1980's. Even without the same training as many of the other top composers of this era, tributes to such classical masters as Holst, Orff, Strauss, Wagner, and others are inserted by Elfman, along with his own Gothic and operatic style.
In order for me to better explain what I believe to be a hero, I want to describe the hero in my life; my Father. My dad is an exceptional man, not only has he been in the United States Marine Corps for 24 years and counting, going on numerous tours overseas, he is a student pursuing his Master’s degree. He is a basketball or baseball coach depending on what sport my siblings and I are currently in to, he is a math or English
An epic is a long narrative poem that tells the exploits of an epic hero. Epics are comprised of an epic hero and an epic battle between good and evil. The earliest known epic today is The Epic of Gilgamesh. This tale is about Gilgamesh’s search for eternal life. Although epics have been around for thousands of years, the epic tradition still has an enormous impact on modern writing and film. In fact, Batman, a story about Bruce Wayne trying to conquer all criminals in Gotham, can be seen as modern epic.
Bruce Wayne’s origins story for the Batman is filled with great pain fear; his parents had died at the hands of criminals and wished to rid his city of the polluted evil it had become consumed by. He hoped to inspire the people of Gotham to stand up these criminals, but that truly wasn’t enough, he had to become more than just a man to inspire. The Batman was created to become an incorruptible and eternal symbol to bring about a change in Gotham.
My Personal Michigan hero,Luis Andalon, works hard and never stopped working hard, which inspires me to be great. My hero overcame coming from a big and a poorer family, always worked hard and never stopped. A hero is a person who inspires you and cares about you, like my hero does. My hero doesn’t have any real superpowers, but it feels like he
“It’s not who I am underneath but what I do that defines me” -Batman. A childhood hero to many people, Batman has been a character to shatter reality from behind the walls of fiction. This superhero gives hope to people and challenges the ideology the we’re only human. Batman defies the very limits of what society believes humans have. To understand whether Batman’s limits can be reached in reality, one must understand the process in which Batman went through to become Batman. Given what Batman had at his disposal, the idea of a person achieving the same level as Batman is not so far-fetched.
There are many qualities that people think a hero should have. To name a few of those qualities there is; courage, determination, focus, compassion, dedication, honesty, loyalty, responsibility, and wisdom. (http://www.personalitytutor.com/qualities-of-a-hero.html). Most people believe these are very important qualities to have, probably because they themselves wish they had more of those traits. Most people believe that these traits are not just traits of “superheroes”; they are also the traits of everyday heroes, or real heroes-not super heroes- throughout history.

So what exactly is a hero? Parents are true heroes. Most parental units sacrifice time, money, love and everything else for their children. When times are tough good parents do all they can to make things better for their children. Mothers and fathers often work two jobs, late at night, or on weekends to provide for their kids. My mom is always there for me when I am sick, telling me she wishes she were the sick one. She also reassures me that she always has an extra kidney if I happen to need one. I personally view my parents as true heroes for all they do, have done, and will do.
My parents are brave; they will do anything for my happiness. Not only mine, but also their friends, and families. My father has many friends, and he always helps them whenever they need them most. Without my parents, I probably will not survive. Heroes usually best described as selfless, brave, and often inspiring. A friend of my mother just heard a bad news from her family back in Indonesia, telling that her father has a cancer that already spread in his body. She has to go back and visit her father, but can't afford the plane ticket. My mom not hesitantly let her borrow her money for the ticket. During The May riot in Indonesia, everybody in my complex tried to run away since the natives were going to kill the Chinese. But, My father and couple of his friends ordered them to stay and fight back, and it worked. The natives ran when they saw a crowd of Chinese trying to kill them back. My parents are the most inspiring people for me. They taught me things that I need to know like drugs, and other important things. My father always inspired me to do the right things, to be strong, and be independent. I am sure that all parents that did a lot of things for their children are heroes.
