After watching “Forrest Gump” the film argues that there is a balance between destiny and coincidence. Mrs. Gump believes there is no great plan. One of the main lines Mrs. Gump states is,”Life is like a box a chocolate; you never know what you're gonna get.” This suggests that life is just full of surprises. Another example of fate is while she is on her deathbed Forrest ask her what's his destiny and she replies; ”I happened to believe you make your own destiny. You have to do the best with what God gave you.” Mrs. Gump was important in Forrest’s life and he listened to all her advice. Lt. Dan was a strong believer of destiny.
