One of the greatest sports that was featured around the world as of today is known as badminton, which involves hitting the shuttkecock across the net with a racquet. Badminton was technically not invented by one particular person. The game has a very interesting history dating back to 18th century India where it has eventually evolved from two childish games known as battledore and shuttlecock. From the beginning, the game has several rules and regulations that were totally different until today because the sport was completely brand new at that time and not everyone who were when badminton is introduced was familiar with this athletic game. The game has been compared to tennis quite often, but it stands out more than ever due to its origin. Furthermore, the game was eventually featured in the Olympics during the 70s. Since then, badminton was established as a honorary sport for the Olympic Games in future tournament for both men and women. Although Olympic successes have declined, Badminton remains a popular sport in the United States, especially in the summer, where it is played in backyards, on beaches, at colleges and in local gyms and fitness facilities. Even though the roots of its creation of the game were traced back to countries like England, badminton has been dominated by Asian countries upon being introduced.
