It was an ordinary day at the bacon factory until they came. Two men in dark black suits and dark shades walked in the factory demanding everybody to leave at once. They told the workers there that they were from the F.D.A. Then they began saying that the factory did not meet health standards, and it was not fit for bacon manufacturing. I knew something was up but the worst was...i believed them. After about a week i got a notice in the mail telling me that i just been laid off because the factory has been closed down, and that i’ll be collecting my last pay on 1/24/35.I did not know what to do, what am i going to eat, what am i going to do to pay the bills, how am i going to pay childcare!. Child care,...I haven’t really thought about it till now, but why am i paying child care!. I don’t have kids! ... I had a wife, I... had a wife i don’t understand …show more content…
how i forgot all this, maybe it was because of the work but here's what i do remember she left me for some rich guy. Hundreds of reports came in saying that people been laid off from bacon factories ,but all of them had the same thing two men in black suits from the FDA demanded they leave for unsanitary reasons. Something was up but it was not my concern there the one who laid me off i wanted to stay away from them as much as possible. That’s when I got a call saying that my ex wife has been killed by her rich husband and they wanted me to pick up my biological son David from the police station.I have a son that’s new, and his name is David who names their son David it’s a weird name. I picked David up from the police station, and the first thing i noticed was he had his mother's eyes I was thinking what to say “Hello,i’m your biological father and your my son that I never knew about”!
I felt bad. The trip back home was long longer than normal we got back home and the first thing he said was “Did you work at a bacon factory”? He asked is replied “Yes why” David said there was a thing going on with the government and bacon and their use of it for a nuclear weapon.I thought about it for a moment then I asked how he knew. Then he told me that he was eavesdropping on one of his stepfather special phone calls and how his Dad was going to close all bacon factories and use the bacon for the weapon. I knew I had to do something i lost my job for a stupid weapon WHAT! I started researching what made this weapon so special well i found it. That bomb was so powerful that it can vaporize a asteroid the size of 6 football fields in two seconds! I did not know what to do what happens if that that weapon got into the wrong hands.I thought of the best way to expose the government of what their doing to our
bacon. I hacked it to their mainframe ,logged into their files, found the file for the weapon and leaked it onto the internet it adimeidaly it got so many hits. But now I have problems of my own I hacked into government and that's illegal. But i wanted to do one more thing before I was found by government agents i wanted to make a closer bond with my son it was the right thing to do. I took him to his favorite restaurant, then to the movies, then to the beach I knew I did not have much time left before they got me I already see them surrounding me. I told him that I wished that i had more time to tell him who I really am and how he would have to stay with other relatives for a while ,but the sad part was when i told him that I loved him. That was the last time is saw David i miss him a lot. It’s day 800 two years since I saw the Sun ,but it’s my fault i should have thought about what i was doing, no what i did was right taking the people's food to make a weapon ,no it’s wrong and i’m happy that i did it too there is no shame to doing the right thing.
It had been 5 years since the death of Johnny and Dally and everyday I miss them more and more. I am 18 now and about to leave to start my first year of college. I have still been living with my brothers Darry and Sodapop. Darry is now 25 and Soda is now 22. Things have been a little different ever since we won the rumble that night. I remember it like it was yesterday. But the difference is now the greasers and Socs are not really a thing anymore. Darry, Soda and I have kinda lose touch with Two-Bit, Steve and Cherry. But we all still think and talk about them everyday.(I mostly talk about Cherry.) When we see the Socs wondering the streets we don't go over and try to pick a fight anymore. We either smile and wave, it's like we're all one big friendly neighborhood.
"Two-Bit, I swear, if you don't shut up I will come over there and personally beat the tar outta you."
The gutsy owner of a local café organizes a music festival to rally support to save their small town from greedy developers, but when she promises to produce the famous band Sherbet, she may not be able to keep her promise.
I also don't own the idea, it was requested to me by the wonderful Amanda. Thank you so much! I hope I did this idea justice.
I knew it would happen. As much as I tried to stay optimistic, to put off my feelings of suspicion to an old man's negativity, I knew that this case would cost me something more than just my reputation in the town and that didn't even really matter. In Maycomb, reputation is a day by day concept. Sure, we have more than enough of our fair share of immovable gossipers, and drama kings and queens looking for a story to spread. But in everyone's own mind, if you did something stupid, immoral, or just mildly humorous or entertaining, it was the talk of the town and you were judged terribly for a few days, a few weeks tops. Then the whispers, and glances faded to conversations over coffee, and deep inside jokes. My reputation didn't bother me one bit.
It all began with a simple phone call one night after dinner. “Joe,” my father hollered up the stairs, “it’s for you. It’s Jackie and she sounds upset .” As I came down stairs to pick up the phone, I was not happy. I was tired and had looked forward to a nice evening at home, not another stupid adventure with Jackie.
Am I going to die? Not at the hands of Napoleon, but at the feet of a disaster. I could not remember, for the life of me, how to react during a fire. More smoke rises as the fire spreads. Adrenaline rushes through me when I feel the ground shake.
It is July 4, 1969 in Vallejo California, Darlene Ferrin picks up Mike Mageau from his house and are heading to a Mr. ED`s a burger and fries restaurant. When they arrive it is too crowded and decide to go somewhere quiet to spend time together. “I love me Betty” Tituba yelled as she was accused of being the reason for Betty’s current state. Tituba may just be a slave, and not seen as important or intelligent in the town of Salem, but she has many characteristics in common with me. Although hers are caused by being taken out of her home in Barbados. I, much like Tituba are often seen as outcasts to those around us, but we accept what we are and still love the world around us, and accept others too, and for that reason follow others.
PROLOGUE: “Mr. Ethan Winters and Mr. Lucas Baker will live together under one roof for the duration of time it takes to get them new identities issued under the witness protection program.” The man in a sharp black suit reading off the paper in front of him looked up at the two men in question. Both of them looked absolutely petrified. He went on to read “You will be provided a house to share in Portland, Oregon. All expenses already paid for.
I guess today is another thrilling day, and this morning I wake up at 4 o’clock in the morning to get ready to work by 5 am. My brother Thorn and I walked there and we were a bit late today. And I didn’t even have any breakfast. Once we got there, we started to work immediately. Then someone stared at me. It was the man in the uniform. He yelled at me just because I whispered to the other person sitting next to me then I saw some kids playing in the street and I felt very disappointed and jealous. Why I can’t go out side and play in the street like these kids but I guess that’s part of life. We usually get two breaks during the day, Lunch and dinner. But today I didn’t get any break. And I have to work straight though it. I’m starving and my hands are very sore. I usually have to work 14 hours a day but since Thomas Edison invented the light bulb I only have to work for 10 hours. And finally my work is done and it’s 5pm. My wage is 20 cents a day but most of the boys who are younger than me get 25cent per day or even 30cents per day. I don’t know why but my parents say that I have to work or we have to live on the streets
Once upon a time, there were three mice. These mice had names. I knew these mice very dearly, and can tell anyone anything they want to know about the mice. One time they in a fight with a cat, and that is the story I am here to tell you about, so this is their story… One of their names was Knox, a dark gray, shaggy, and greasy-haired mice. He loved eating cheese.
After the biguns meet up to talk about piggy,“[They] had grown up tacitly among the biguns the opinion that Piggy was an outsider, not only by accent, which did not matter, but by fat, and ass-mar, and specs, and a certain disinclination for manual labor”(p 65). The use of diction in the quote exhibits that the children think they are adults, in the use of a complex word disinclination . But the way in which they it say that they had “grown up” an opinion shows the progression of the children growing up by connecting it to their ideas. The way in which judge Piggy based on physical features could be seen as prejudice. But the act of the boys deciding that Piggy is an “outsider” becomes an act of savageness. In the way that the boys are thinking for survival and their natural being, thinking that Piggy would not be in a good position to survive or help the rest of the boys survive.
Hello, I am Piggy. Thank you all for attending today. In this very moment we are going be remember a littlun from the island. The boy with the Mulberry birthmark was one of the only littluns we could keep up with because he stood out. He was truly sweet and caring for those around him. I remember when he was the first littluns to let us older boys know that the beast was in the forest. I know that he didn’t intend to spread fear amongst the rest of the littluns, so I respected him as being brave because he wanted to protect those around him. It was quite hard. What would you do if you were surrounded by a bunch of littluns that were crying because they thought there was a child eating beast on the loose? He only did what he thought
