B2B vs. B2C Marketing Differences
Once a decision is made to develop a business, whom the customer will be is the next decision to be made. Whom will the company target as a customer? Will it be a business? Or will it be a consumer? Business-to-business (B2B) marketing has differences from business-to-consumer (B2C) marketing practices. This paper will outline these differences between the two types of e-commerce business transactions.
'Traditional marketing in the business-to-business environment requires very different strategies from those campaigns directed towards the consumer market.' (ExtraVision, n.d., p. 1) 'Consumer competition can be a lot fiercer, with customer loyalty a constant battle.? (ExtraVision, n.d., p.1)
Routes of marketing in business today include e-mail, pop up advertisement, television and banner advertising. This paper will primarily focus on e-mail marketing. E-mail marketing is different when marketing to a business versus a consumer. Debbie Weil (2002) lists five ways business-to-business marketing is different from business-to-consumer email marketing. Weil (2002) says these five ways are:
· Distance from click to sale
· Permission
· Copyrighting Challenge
· Lists
· B2B: the more interesting option (p.1)
When discussing the concept of the distance from the click to the sale, Weil (2002) explains business-to-business e-mails are primarily for lead generation. On the other hand, an e-mail campaign for a busin...
Centuries of both figurative and literal binding held down countless individuals from reaching their full potential, and in turn held down the entirety of the mankind from progressing forward, Despite laws that emerged in hopes to create equality, years of “Separate but equal” lies perpetuated across from sea to shining sea. Other nations took notice to how America treated its citizens with concern, but yet the discrimination continued. Years of voices fighting for change fell on deaf ears. Typically, only in incidents such as Freedom Summer where white students who fought for equal rights died did the attention of the national public tune to the true horror and extremity white supremacists were taking to hold back change. (cite). Through reading Tyson’s book, one is able to further reach an understanding of the clash of rage, despair, anguish, and frustration felt by those fighting for equal
Several states try to allow citizens to make decisions without elected officials. Referendums, initiatives, and sunshine laws are all ways that the states incorporate the public into lawmaking and government decisions. However, the United States is not a direct democracy because it includes elements of a republic. The government has more than five hundred thousand elected officials that answer to the public. The constitutional framers believed that the majority in a direct democracy would get carried away and make decisions that only benefit themselves. That is why the government was set up to be able to check the power of the majority. Because the government is a mixed system that combines a democracy and a republic, it is not considered a direct
As most children did, I had the choice to play whatever sport I wanted. Considering my height, 5’10, most would assume that I played either basketball or volleyball. No one expected me to play tennis, and was surprised when I said that I did. During my elementary years, I played softball for seven years, and when I hit eighth grade, I decided to play tennis. My decision came about because of my sister. I had always followed closely in her footsteps because I looked up to her a lot, so when I saw she was playing; I wanted to try it out too. I had never really thought about what it would be like to play tennis. I didn’t hate it, or really know what it would be like to play it. And little did I know that playing would demand so much time, energy, and effort.
No. The United States is not a democracy. It is a Representative Democratic Republic. Democracy is “ a system of government that is run by the majority of the population,.”.(11) Representative Democracy is “ a form of government where officials representing a certain group of people are elected ”.(11) The founding fathers actually created a republic with the Constitution. It had three branches. Each with different government jobs. The Executive Branch was elected by the Electoral College. Federal judges were selected by the president. The Senate were chosen by the state governments. The only part of the government that was elected by the people was the House of Representatives. Nowadays the Senate is elected by the population, and the Electoral College still remains. Originally the people had no ability to have their input on anything that happened in government, but to this day the Electoral College is still the deciding body on who will be elected the President of the United
Blood Done Sign My Name, penned by Timothy Tyson in 2004, “is both memoir and history” that unflinchingly centers on the complex chronicle of race relations in North Carolina (Tyson 323). Through the author’s attempt to rediscover “the other South” – the South that has been systematically obliterated from history, the memoir suggests that white Americans must candidly confront its society’s segregated past if they are to genuinely reconcile. There can only be restorative justice if the perpetrators – white supremacists and neo-confederates – acknowledge their wrongdoings and society takes steps to amend them.
The United States government could be described as a representative democracy. This form of government puts power in the people’s hands by letting them vote for their representatives. United States citizens vote on presidents, congress members, etc., which allows some power to be placed in the hands of every citizen. A representative democracy allows us to have a say in who represents our beliefs, values, and standards for the country. As stated in How Congress Works, a representative democracy is a way “in which the people would choose elected representatives to carry their voices to Washington.”
In two distinct e-commerce business types, Business-to-business (B2B) and Business-to-Consumer (B2C), there are many differences in the way they operate. Specifically in marketing, differences include how the marketing is driven and the values of the strategies, the size of the target market and length of the sales cycle, and even the buying patterns of the target consumers. Each of these differences will be better defined and explained in the following paragraphs.
The ultimate goal of B2C marketing is to convert shoppers into buyers as aggressively and consistently as possible. B2C companies employ more merchandising activities like coupons, displays, store fronts (both real and Internet) and offers to entice the target market to buy. B2C marketing campaigns are concerned with the transaction, are shorter in duration and need to capture the customer’s interest immediately. These campaigns often offer special deals, discounts, or vouchers that can be used both online and in the store. For example, the goal of an email campaign for a B2C company is to get consumers to buy the product immediately. The email will take the consumer to a landing page on the web site that is designed to sell the product and make purchasing very easy by integrating the shopping cart and checkout page into the flow of the transaction. Any more than a couple of clicks and the customer is likely to abandon the shopping cart.

B2B marketing must address a different psychological mindset than B2C marketing. B2C marketing is largely emotion-driven and paints a picture of a better, richer life for the consumer. B2B buyers tend to be more analytical. They are, or course, interested in the benefits, but facts matter to them. B2B marketing must be able to answer questions related to scalability, integration, ROI and deployment, not just try to sell a picture of happy productive employees.
Marketing is a core pillar of an organization and contribute significantly in its prosperity through attaining the laid down targets as well as scope of development. The position of an organization is hugely based on its competitiveness and capacity to capture a significant portion of the market in relation to the prevailing needs of consumers. Interaction of the organization with the consumers and the potential consumer in the market arena is attained through the marketing wing of the organization (Ferrell& Hartline, 2012). The preferences of the consumer and avenues of satisfaction are aligned to the established marketing frameworks. However, the success of organization marketing is highly inclined to the marketing strategies formulated and adapted towards coping with competition and eventually enhancing firm competitiveness.
My love for tennis blossomed at the young age of eleven. During middle school my peers knew me as the boy who was remarkably talented at tennis and I savored that title. Butterflies floated throughout my youthful body whenever someone complimented me. As the years passed, my dad nurtured me into a top player. Before I knew it high school arrived and it was time to compete at a higher level. My excitement was out of this world, but I knew my dad could no longer push me forward and my future was up to me. However, the ego I developed over the years blocked what lie in front of me. I wasn’t looking at the bigger picture; the hard work demanded of me, teamwork, and the motivation to reach an ultimate goal. Throughout my four years of participating
To help these businesses, a more appropriate or better marketing plan needs to be designed. Small business internet marketing services can help businesses develop and thrive in a highly competitive market. For the highest quality internet marketing services, hiring an online marketing company to design a customized internet marketing campaign may be advantageous for some businesses (EStartup business blog and contributors, 2010). Identifying the role that marketing plays in a successful business is demonstrated by the use of two examples, the importance of developing a marketing plan, and ethical and legal issues that surround marketing practices (EStartup business blog, 2010). To be a successful business, the owner of the business should use the marketing mix and the results of market research; having identified its key audience a company has to ensure a marketing mix is created that is targeted specifically to those people.
The are two basic categories of business conducted over the internet, Business-to-Customer (B2C) and Business-to-Business (B2B), and they share one common key aspect - use of Internet technologies to manage all aspects of the business.
The report also talks about the differences between, advantages and disadvantages of e-business and e-commerce. Recommendations and advice have been given in the end for businesses intending to adopt an e-business dimension.
