Kathy Harrison starts her personal story happily married to her childhood sweet heart Bruce. Kathy was living a simple life in her rural Massachusetts community home as the loving mother of three smart, kind, well-adjusted boys Bruce Jr., Nathan, and Ben. With the natural transitions of family life and the changes that come with career and moving, she went back to work as a Head Start teacher. Her life up until the acceptance of that job had been sheltered an idyllic. Interacting in a world of potluck suppers, cocktail parties, and traditional families had nothing in common with the life she would choose after she became a Head Start teacher.
Stuart Rojstaczer talks about how higher education in the United States has decreased substantially these days. High grades are very common among college students when they should not be that high. Schools are handing out easy A’s to those who do not deserve them, decreasing the quality of education. Even more astonishing is the fact that students are spending less time studying and more time drinking and partying, students are consuming more alcohol than ever and degrade in a really fast way. Also Stuart Rojstaczer talk about that in private schools grades are much higher than in public schools, but virtually everyone was experiencing grade inflation. In addition to that one more scientific evidence is high GPA of American students, because

Kathy Kaup was like many of us who grew up with the notion that we would marry, have children and live happily ever after. At 19 Kathy had an amazing job in Omaha as a messenger for a law firm. She loved her work and was well on her way to her dream life. She became engaged, married the man of dreams and together they began to plan a family. One thing that the couple felt was important was to raise their own children in the cozy hometown environment like the type they had been raised in. So, Kathy left her job and off they went to a small town in Nebraska.

Laird, Pamela, “Consuming Smoke: Cigarettes in American Culture.” University of Colorado at Denver. Author of Advertising Progress: American Business and the Rise of Consumer Marketing. 1998
Smoking has been a major part of American culture since the end of the nineteenth century. While it made its most public debut while prohibition of alcohol was going on, it was seen as a negative thing just the same as drinking. With people beginning to feel negatively against smoking, as the same as drinking alcohol, it almost made the activity more popular. At this time there was a “rise in popularity in tobacco, especially in its new and most devious form, the cigarette” (Brandt, p.45).What brand a person smoked was all on preference, but the popularity of them was all on how it was advertised. It was known that a person “buys brands rather than cigarettes and it is the advertising that has built up this prestige in the consumers’ eyes for a particular product (Brandt, p. 78)”. One of the first main brands that became popular was Camel under the company of RJ Reynolds. Camel cigarettes were very successful and their advertisements are more than half the reason for it.
...people to educate themselves about tobacco disease and prevent current and non-current smokers from smoking. This is minorities people are not aware of tobacco’s health risk because of low level of education or low income are put under high stress. Also, low income that is usually a factor of lack of education, puts people in a lot of stress making them to reach for cigarettes more often. Therefore, all these reasons contribute to the fact that tobacco pictorial labels are not misleading and advances the interest of the government. Many research provides evidence of tobacco being harmful, showing government that smoking is a main factor of causing thousands of deaths in the United States and around the world. With all that said, one of the American Actors, Jeremy London said “A lot of people in my life are getting sick or potentially going to get sick from tobacco.”

In this article “Tobacco Advertisements Encouraging Smoking” the author claims that the advertisement makes cigarettes most successful product in American history. According to the office of the Surgeon General, in1998, tobacco companies spent 6.7 billion dollars on marketing (Williams.pp.50). We see the big poster on the wall and a hero demonstrates smoke as a good behavior in the move. As we look back to 2007 campaign for the feminine Camel No.9 brand, girls’ night parties, gift bags, and print ads in fashion magazines had a significant impact on teens. Indeed, tobacco companies have a strategic advertisement for consumers to smoke (Roman pp.1). However, I believe that the tobacco companies maintaining cigarettes ads in order to play role in people life to make a decision to smoke. As I see the three main reasons to start smoking; Advertising, Friends smoke, and Family members smoke.
