The continuing advancements in technology have always been in the forefront of shaping the future. The future is not considered a guaranteed thing and no one knows 100% of what it holds. One emerging trend that will have an effect on the economy, politics and government, and myself will be the use of automation for the future. Automation includes “Information technology (IT), Computer-aided manufacturing (CAM), Numerically controlled (NC) equipment, Robots, Flexible manufacturing systems (FMS), and Computer integrated manufacturing (CIM).” (Advameg, 2017) Automated services could have both a positive and a negative effect on various aspect of the future.
The economy is something that with the use of automation will benefit some businesses and potentially hurt some businesses. More and more major corporation move to automated plants to save money and produce better quality product faster. The automation gives them a way to eliminate human error and the additional cost applied by

I believe it will be great for my career as I am always willing to learn about new equipment. As robots and computer become more efficient they will still need to be installed, setup and regularly maintained. This will hopefully provide job security for me. There are some concerns for my family in regards for the older generation who may not be as technical savvy. There use of technology is limited and maybe forced out of work. This may bring a financial burden on younger generations. My lifestyle will have to adapt to what automation brings to the future. I’m a hand on type of person I like taking things apart and trying to make them better. I am learning that things made with automation are not as easy to work on as things made by a human. They have tighter tolerances and are a bit more sensitive. But I welcome the challenge. Automation will have a various effect on my career, family and lifestyle in the
Production has also been economised by the introduction automated production with continual processes. This allows an easy and flexible method to
In her introduction, Barbara Garson gives the reader an idea of her personal work experience as a clerk with automation. One can see that Garson is a strong critique of automation. In order to convey how automation is affecting our society the author begins by analyzing and studying various jobs from the bottom on up (i.e. starting with the most unskilled labor).
The robots are taking over!!! This is the idea that Kevin Kelly stresses and elaborates on in his article “Better than Human:Why Robots Will-and must-Take Our Jobs”. The article focuses on automation in the workplace and how most of the jobs that are currently done by humans will be taken over by robots in the future. Kelly believes that this is inevitable and that it is a positive thing. While I believe that most of our jobs will be taken over in the future, I do not think that Kelly did a great job at trying to prove his point and his argument was mediocre.
To begin, the main issue of development of Artificial Intelligence is the economic factors. Firstly, one of the main negative effects of AI on economy is unemployment. According to the suggesting of Carl Benedikt Frey and Michael A. Osborne of Oxford University during next 20 years 47 per cent of all USA jobs under the threat and will be replaced with intelligence machines (Vincent). If jobs will be automated, people will lose their workplaces and it is becomes one of the harmful problems not only for economy, but also for society. Because, if people will not have a workplace, they will not be able to provide their needs. Furthermore, development of AI can be a reason of increasing inequality of wages. For instance, the salaries of computer workers approximately earn 10 to 15 percent more than others. (Frey and Osborne). It is also one of the economic problems because it can lead to discontent of workers who hav...
Artificial Intelligence, also known as AI, allows a machine to function as if the machine has the capability to think like a human. While we are not expecting any hovering cars anytime soon, artificial intelligence is projected to have a major impact on the labor force and will likely replace about half the workforce in the United States in the decades to come. The research in artificial intelligence is advancing rapidly at an unstoppable rate. So while many people feel threatened by the possibility of a robot taking over their job, computer scientists actually propose that robots would benefit a country’s efficiency of production, allowing individuals to reap the benefits of the robots. For the advantage of all, researchers and analysts have begun to mend the past ideas of human-robot interaction. They have pulled inspiration from literary works of Isaac Asimov whom many saw as the first roboticist ahead of his time, and have also gotten ideas of scholarly research done by expert analysts. These efforts have began to create an idea of a work force where humans and robots work together in harmony, on a daily basis.
Robots are used in factories and even in people’s homes. So what if the Terminator film series got it right? Human workers, who work in factories, machineries, mills, everyday human controlled jobs like cash registers operators, are being replaced by robotic automation. This is a major problem for the everyday employee. Jobs that were once held by human workers, are now being replaced every day by robot “workers”.
Automation started out as an assembly line of workers doing the same repetitive task all day long. Some of the jobs were very boring, dirty, unpleasant, and possibly dangerous. After the introduction of the first robot in 1961, automation began to advance in ways people could only imagine.
Using artificial intelligence will eliminate human error. Another positive would be the lowered risk of human harm because they won’t have to work the heavy machinery. This may decrease the amount of jobs in the manufacturing business, but it will also create new jobs. There is going to have to be someone running, building, and watching over these machines. The medical field will be changed for the better by artificial intelligence. Robotic radiosurgery can be implemented to shrink tumors microscopically. The precision of the machines reduce the amount of healthy tissue killed in tumor removal, and can leave smaller scars. This will greatly improve the quality of life for these patients, and will allow us to save more patients. It can also be used to train new surgeons in a virtual reality or real world setting. The students will be able to be fully immersed in real world situations they could encounter, but there isn’t the risk of killing someone. This can cut down on mistakes and improve the quality of education in med
Is automation “good” or “bad”? There are arguments on both sides of this issue. On one hand, the cost of production on a per item basis is generally low, on the other hand it is often said that automation takes jobs from people. In the old days manufacturing and fabrication were all done by hand by people. Now that computers and technology have succeeded in the industry, automation has become the competitive advantage in today’s manufacturing world. Automation has allowed for companies to mass produce products at outstanding speeds and with great quality. Although automation is constantly setting the standards for the American workplace and has many advantages, there are also negative aspects about automation. Automation has face some
The problems are becoming huge while the technology and science improved. Because there are really complex machines to work with, people should learn how to use them, and by doing this continuously, they become a part of them. It is really not a good thing, actually, it will end the humanity and this is all because of the system that we have. Becoming a machine means that there would be no emotions and people start to become slaves of machines. This is against human nature and when it begins, it accompanies with emotionless slavery. Of course, changing the system isn’t that easy, so we should change our thoughts, our behaviours and stop being mechanical as machines. We have machines, and we need “people” to use them, not machines to use machines.
I don't know what the future holds but I know who holds the future. Days go by and how time flies, seasons always changing. When we contemplate the future we envision mind-warping technology and global warming destroying the Earth. Change is inevitable but it's up to our supremacy what we and our planet Earth change into. Will we help or hinder our future survival? One sentence from America's Declaration of Independence has some relevance to this matter. 'But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object, evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security'. In other words if something is wrong, those that have the ability to take action, have the responsibility to take action.
It is going to taking over and solve a majority of the problems that humans are dealing with today. It is taking over businesses and will be taking over almost all businesses in the coming years. It is amazing to see how convenient everything is going to be in the upcoming years. Not having to get gas for your car, not having to charge your phone, and not having to grab things off store shelves. Artificial intelligence will change so many things, and our world will be a completely different place. Artificial intelligence does give businesses a competitive advantage over many businesses because it is so advanced. From a business’s information technology department to accounting and reconciliation, and even transportation of products. All of these realms could soon be machine handled, which may cause many people to be out of a job, but artificial intelligence can still be seen as being a good thing. It is important to note that many people may think the technological advances may not be a good thing, but artificial intelligence is going to make our world more convenient and take care of many time-consuming tasks for business and for people every day. Without all of the scientists ideas back around the 1950s, who knws where the technology industry would
“One machine can do the work of fifty ordinary men. No machine can do the work of one extraordinary man” (Hubbard 151). Elbert Hubbard, an American writer and the founder of Roycroft Artisan community, predicted the future with his epigram. His maxim would resonate for years to come and would be seen in the future job markets. For thousands of years, technology has fundamentally changed the way we live and interact with our environment. It has brought us from the Stone Age to the Industrial Revolution. It has taken us from the creation of the computer to the landing on the moon. Not only has technology affected the old, but also it has affected the youth. For the old and aged, modern technological innovations have brought about longer lives through medicine and other health care. People today are able to live longer, live stronger, and live happier. As for the youth and growing generations, technology has also affected them in various ways. From entertainment to education, technology has designed a generation that could never have been before imagined. But technology has not stopped there; it also has affected their future. From what careers they will pursue to how much they will earn, technology will play a big role. With the rise of new machines and equipment, thousands of jobs will be created that will range from ones that involve handling the machinery to ones that cannot be done by machinery. However on the other hand, new technology also takes away thousands of other jobs from society. As businesses look for ways to maker bigger profits, they will start replacing workers with machinery that could do the job faster and better. While the amount of unemployed may increase due to the advancement of technology, there will also b...
To remain competitive and employable in the twenty-first century workplace, society today must conform to the changing demands. Technology is one of the principal driving forces of the future; it is transforming our lives and shaping our future at rates unprecedented in history, with profound implications, which we cannot even begin to see or understand.
As far as computers in the future, I feel that they are going to play a major role. They will be in everyday life, in everything we do. There will be many areas affected by the wide use of computers. Areas such as: home, work, schools, automobiles, electronics, and humans. Although these areas are already affected, they will be even more as we move into the future.
