There was once a time when people would get up on a Saturday morning, go into the garage, and tinker with their car, everything from a basic oil change and a tune up, to replacing the cylinder heads, and everything in between. It was a rite of passage for young boys to follow dad into the garage and have some good quality father/ son time, or it was a few friends getting together for an afternoon of friendship and camaraderie. It was a simpler time and a simpler car. Today, times have changed. Modern cars are now so complex that a person needs specialized training and tools to do the repairs; however, the “Shadetree Mechanic” is not extinct yet.

Travelling across the country in an old Ford Model T would never be easy; but, traveling in a Model T on a bumpy dirt road with ruts and holes, almost unbearable. Thankfully, many advances in America’s roadway systems came about in the 1900s. Traveling from one city to another became not only quicker and easier, but also safer, thanks to the many innovations that roadways experienced over the last century. Many engineers put in a lot of time and effort to make these innovations and need to be accredited for their scientific achievements. However, getting to the roadway system that we take for granted today did not happen overnight. It took new technology and some brilliant minds to bring the pieces together to form the luxury of nice, smooth
Since the invention of the automobile, there have been many great innovations within the industry. The suspension of the automobile serves as a good example of one of those innovations. Could you imagine riding around in your brand new Nissan Skyline GT-R, with the same suspension methods used to stabilize old horse and carriage buggies centuries ago? That would not serve its purpose very well. Due to the demands of society, vehicle stabilization became a priority to increase safety. Throughout the years, there have been different variations of vehicle suspension systems. For example, we have adaptive air, solid axle, and dead axle suspensions. Without the advancements made in the way we travel and transport goods, civilization could not prosper the way it has.
Some of those jobs can and will be on the water or in the air and most definitely on the ground, for example you can have a job doing work on commercial vehicles. Such as a city bus or construction equipment, there are a ton of this type of equipment in the country so of course there will be a lot of jobs in this field. Along with the common fields in this career if you were a small engine repair guy or just fixing the engines through a shop you are a common worker anyone can do this with a little bit a training. But, if you want to make more money and have a better career in this field then you need to find a job that takes more time to study and more schooling. Railroad mechanics make a better life for themselves because they have a better job which will let them have more opportunities in their career for a chance to move up. This is the same why with a Marine mechanic or a aviation mechanic they have more opportunities than your backyard mechanic because they went to school longer which lead to them making it out

The world of mechanics started in the 16th century and has extremely advanced over the years or decades, to me I believe that when the steamboat was invented mechanics. My Personal favorite mechanic/entrepreneur is Henry Ford (1863 – 1947) founder of the automotive company named “Ford”. He changed the world of mechanic and industrial world and the whole world, he made a way where people can travel faster in towns and big cities. I read a biography of him and in ...
He chose his occupation because his father has owned a shop since he was born and grew up with and he fell in love with it. He says he likes his job, but sometimes he wishes he could make money easier, he recommends it to anyone who likes getting their hands dirty and loves cars, such as myself. A description of his job is that he services and repairs cars, performing a diagnosis on a car, doing test drives, completing repair orders, and talking to customers. The field has changed a little, such as, more electronic parts on cars and different places of parts. Something I wish someone told me before I started this career is that tools cost so much money and my body would hurt a decent amount. Chance for advancement in this field is all based on if you have your ASE certifications and how good you are at doing a diagnosis and repairing cars quickly and with perfect

My interest in the field of Automobile goes back to my early years in high school which is when I decided to pursue a career in engineering. As a child I was always fascinated by the very concept of automobile. Further, my father’s constant involvement in the automotive industry as an insurance claims assessor further enhanced my interests in automobiles. He was the one responsible for showing me the correct path to pursue my career in automobile field. Hence, after having completed my primary education, I decided to delve straight into the world of mechanics and engineering and pursued a diploma in mechanical engineering followed by a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering. Since there were very few options in India & there was no direct path to get into automobile field.
