A night in a stranger’s attic V2 I was camping out on the beach with a few friends in a nearby island. The night wasn’t that cold but it seems that I was the only person feeling cold. Despite setting up a tent near the fireplace, the mild cold wind blowing against my face, sent chills down my spine. At that moment, I knew that I must be sick, coming down with a flu. I didn’t feel like moving at all and I would not be surprised if my temperature soared to over 104 Fahrenheit. So as a result I ended up looking for a place to stay and to get a proper rest. Walking along the beach with the cold sand beneath my feet, I began to see a faint light far ahead, then I realized that it was a small wooden house. I knocked on the tatty rough wooden door, …show more content…
Then I realized my muscles became reluctant to move. There was something in the room, something that was ghastly. Then I felt an unusual aura, as if I could sense something was near the door. I gazed at the door with trepidation, as a shadow blocks the light below the door. I felt a strong sensation of fear that ran through my body. I began to breath very hard and before I could even catch my breathe, something leapt at me but in the form of a matter or being and it was ferocious. It is hard to explain what this thing or beast looks like as it takes no physical form and I was unable to move my body or lift my eyelid to get a peep. I could feel pulses and waves of foreign energy sweeping up and down my body holding me down, as if it wanted me to know of its presence and that it was in control. By now my heart was beating so fast, busting with chills and blankets of fear pulsating along with this ring of energy. The more I struggle, the stronger the grip of the energy and intensity of fear I felt. There was a moment when I questioned myself whether it was my imagination or if it was real. The only way to know for sure was to physically see it for myself. I tried to do this, but all of my effort went to vain as the pulsating wave’s energy seemed to know what I was up to. It retaliated with strong sensation and not only do I feel the energy pulsating along my body, I was beginning to hear a humming noise as if it
Do not open your eyes! One thinks to themselves as you believe there is something or someone there. It is dark your breath getting heavier and heavier, faster and faster, shaking and slowly you open your eyes… No! The fear paralyzes you, something is there it is getting closer and suddenly Ah!
This arts study will define the importance of Elfreths Alley as one of Philadelphia’s oldest urban areas and the evolution of preserving the site as a National Historic Landmark. In the early 1700s, Elfreths Alley was a subdivision project that sought to house various members of shipping community near the docking areas of Philadelphia. Throughout the 19th century, Elfreths Alley became a center for industrialization that housed many differing immigrant communities, and especially, the Irish. The housing structure of Elfreths Alley are primarily that of a Georgina colonial style, which were preserved over the centuries until the formation of the Eflreth Alley Association
I try to walk faster so that I can finally get to my destination but the walked seem like it was taking years to go there. As if the walk through the dark valley would never end. The full moon was shining very bright and the stars were out as I heard the sound of the gust wind, I don’t know why my heart began to beat faster, faster and faster. So then I began to run because of how frightened I was, as I was running I tripped over that seemed to be hard almost as if it was a bone. I fell forward and landed on my face, having my face painted towards the grassy muddy ground. As soon as I tried to get myself up something was licking my ear and screamed so loud that my echo was heard in the valley. I looked to where it was licking my ear and noticed it was a black dog with grey eyes. I was trying to figure out if he was a wolf or a dog but then I noticed his tongue and teeth and knew it was a dog. The dog seemed to want to play with me he immediately continued to lick me as I was scared for my life. I finally got up and walked away because I just wanted to go home where I was safe. The dog continued to follow me right behind me every step of the way. I began to run so that he stopped following but I was wrong he ran with me and even faster than me. He continued to follow me until I was home, I stepped inside my house and he wanted to step inside too. At that point I felt really bad for the dog and let him in. Something about this dog brought my attention so I decided that I would keep him as my
I find myself lying in bed, drifting ever so closely to sleep. My mind is calmly running the days memories through. Deeper and deeper. Closer to dreamland. My body slowly numbs into a more rested state. Abruptly, I am awakened by an incredible force that is pinning my entire body down at once. It is overwhelmingly strong. My limbs wildly try to fight back only to find themselves powerless to this unseen...something...what it is I am unsure. I feel paralyzed. I am physically unable to move a muscle. I try to scream. The noise won't come. I try to scream louder. Still nothing. I want to cry. It's so heavy pushing down on me. I am overwhelmed by darkness and fear. The more I try to push it off it pushes harder and harder down on me. I am unnerved by the fact that I see nothing causing this intense pressure. I feel breathless. I wonder if I've officially lost my mind. Nothing in this world is capable of making me feel so incredibly helpless. I begin to realize there is nothing I can do to stop this from happening. I give in. I accept my defeat. Slowly now the force begins to recede. I find myself making weird babbling noises, grabbing deliriously at my pillows and blankets. I slowly regain control of my muscle movements. The heaviness is no longer hanging in the air. It is just me now. Still lying in my bed. Yet now I lie terrified, confused, and unsure of what just came over me.
Just as quickly as the being appears, it vanishes. Suddenly, flashing closer, I topple my chair when I jump up. The noise draws the animal’s attention and it looks at me, or tries to. The face is eerily similar to a human’s. Nose smushed into a grotesque feature, eyes white with the lids black like they are frostbitten. The mouth is yellow, cracked, and drooling bloody saliva. I grab my baseball bat from my desk. When I turn around, a split second later, it is gone. Slowly, I climb into bed, completely worn out. That whole night I do not find a wink of
What i saw was horrifying. this tall, bony creature had no eyes and it’s mouth was wide open like it’s jaw was broken. It had nothing on but the skin on it’s bones, long pointed fingers, and no hair on it’s head. I gasp in shock but quickly cover my mouth so it wouldn't hear me but it was too late, it heard me. I saw it stop and turn it’s head my way, oh god i think it saw me. I turn my head back and i can breath, my heart is pounding in my chest. The feeling of fear and adrenaline pumping through my veins. Then I heard it continue on to wherever it was heading, ok that was anticlimactic. As soon i heard it go out the door i quickly ran to the door and shut it before it had the chance to come back. Hopefully the door will hold ,whatever that
I turned to face the door, pressing my hands against the grainy and unpolished wood. As I tried to see out of the peep hole my ears strained to hear
It was a very strange morning. The snow was zombie-white. I twist and turn then end up finding myself on the floor, not knowing how i got there. I open my window making the curtains dance around uncontrollably. The cold of the morning freezes my fingers into ungrateful numbness.
I looked up at the black sky. I hadn't intended to be out this late. The sun had set, and the empty road ahead had no streetlights. I knew I was in for a dark journey home. I had decided that by traveling through the forest would be the quickest way home. Minutes passed, yet it seemed like hours and days. The farther I traveled into the forest, the darker it seemed to get. I was very had to even take a breath due to the stifling air. The only sound familiar to me was the quickening beat of my own heart, which felt as though it was about to come through my chest. I began to whistled to take my mind off the eerie noises I was hearing. In this kind of darkness I was in, it was hard for me to believe that I could be seeing these long finger shaped shadows that stretched out to me. I had this gut feeling as though something was following me, but I assured myself that I was the only one in the forest. At least I had hoped that I was.
It was finally fall break. I was visiting my grandma for a few days. Well past dinnertime, I pulled up to the white stately home in northern rural Iowa. I parked my car, unloaded my bag and pillow, and crunched through the leaves to the front porch. The porch was just how I had seen it last; to the right, a small iron table and chairs, along with an old antique brass pole lamp, and on the left, a flowered glider that I have spent many a summer afternoon on, swaying back and forth, just thinking.
Not being able to make one more step to my “Destiny”, feeling petrified, I gather all my courage and scream! HAAAAAAAAAaaaaaaaaa……. My scream slowly faints into nothingness. I look around and see that I don't recognize this part of the world which is something truly amazing. As my brain scans this area I hear sudden movements across from me. I see piercing eyes looking at me like those of a predator hunting his prey. This is the first time I feel this horrifying feeling, the feeling of being hunted. Then out of the bushes comes out this weird and enormous creature, most likely the monster my father would annoy me about. I whispered to myself “ He was right”. Then! With a sudden urge I started running as fast as I could, feeling the monster chasing me was the most terrifying event I've ever been in. I ran and ran, until I came across what looked familiar to me. “I'm close! I'm near home”. I enter the bodies of water that I call home hoping that this creature cannot swim. Once again, I was wrong. This monster had what it looked like long limbs that it would use to swim and a hole where it can breath from. While looking at this creature I envision him speaking out , calling in an unrecognizable language. At this point I was terrified for my life, not only did I imagine the monster capturing me and cooking me for dinner. I also thought that what if I can fight back? “NO!” I screamed in a
I felt my heart begin to beat at a fast pace, telling my body I was scared, but my mind convincing me it was just an ordinary night. On the contrary my gut feeling
Once I dried off, I put on some warm pajamas, and stepped into her room where she sat slouching on her bed. My sister was across from her. The wind outside blew hard against the windows, the house creaked against it’s force. The heat from the vents filled the house.
The bedroom door slammed open, the mysterious guy started walking and breathing heavily. I slightly opened the closet door. Its desiccated skin pulled tightly over its bones. With its bones pushing out against its skin, its complexion the ash grey of death, and its eyes pushed back deep into their sockets, the creature looked like a gaunt skeleton recently disinterred from the grave. It was a perfect description of a
My first day started out normal. I even went to the library and scurried across campus on my way home. I finally got some sleep that night, actually it was probably the best sleep I’ve had in a fort night. On my second day going back to classes I saw him, but this time it seemed like he wasn’t looking at me. So I ran. Back to my dorm. I didn’t turn back until my door was latched tight and the door was locked. I sat there waiting for him. I sat for hour and hours. The day turned to night, but I was still waiting. At this time both hands were pointed straight up. Moments later a shadow appear underneath the little crack in the door. The creature seemed to just be standing there looking. I could feel his presence, and even though he might be outside the door his eyes were inside the room. He started to jiggle the door handle. At first it was a light jiggle, but soon turned mad. He started beating on the door. My chest started to beat frantically. As I looked around the room I couldn’t figure out what I was going to do after the monster got in. I looked out the window and quickly realized that I lived on the fourth floor and I would die or have severe injuries to my body. The pounding on the door didn’t stop, and I could see the door hinges start to tear from the wood. Then all of a sudden the door flew open, and I made the rational decision to leap from the window. I aimed for the bushes about a body length from the building, but only my upper half landed on it. I looked down and noticed my ankle all twisted, and sharp pain raced through my veins. I glanced up at the window to see the creatures face. He just stood there as like he was mocking me. I tried to crawl away as far as I could go on a bum ankle. I found a good bush to lay in for the
