The Beast
One overclouded and mysterious night, I find myself looking into the far distance into the unknown. What's over there? What will I find if I enter this dark place? I just see myself in a blank space of wonder. Is this just part of a dream I once had? I guess I'll never know. Feeling all these indecisive feelings to whether or not I should go forward I just imagine “What if”. What if I encounter something that I'll regret? What if I see something that I want to forget? And what if I become what I fear the most? As I keep walking to my destination what seems like forever. I feel a pressure of a sudden terrifying presence, not just one, but many whom seem like I'm being stalked. Not once did I even risk taking

Not being able to make one more step to my “Destiny”, feeling petrified, I gather all my courage and scream! HAAAAAAAAAaaaaaaaaa……. My scream slowly faints into nothingness. I look around and see that I don't recognize this part of the world which is something truly amazing. As my brain scans this area I hear sudden movements across from me. I see piercing eyes looking at me like those of a predator hunting his prey. This is the first time I feel this horrifying feeling, the feeling of being hunted. Then out of the bushes comes out this weird and enormous creature, most likely the monster my father would annoy me about. I whispered to myself “ He was right”. Then! With a sudden urge I started running as fast as I could, feeling the monster chasing me was the most terrifying event I've ever been in. I ran and ran, until I came across what looked familiar to me. “I'm close! I'm near home”. I enter the bodies of water that I call home hoping that this creature cannot swim. Once again, I was wrong. This monster had what it looked like long limbs that it would use to swim and a hole where it can breath from. While looking at this creature I envision him speaking out , calling in an unrecognizable language. At this point I was terrified for my life, not only did I imagine the monster capturing me and cooking me for dinner. I also thought that what if I can fight back? “NO!” I screamed in a …show more content…
It was something amazing to see. My father dashed out, passing me and heading to the monster! All I can hear in the distance was splashing of those monsters whom was chasing me. I heard screams of terror and cries of the ones who got hurt, then I heard nothing. As my father made his way back to me all he did was embrace me with of concern and worry. I asked him “ are they gone?” He responded with a smile and me with a smile as well. Still filled with some curiosity ,I asked my father on more question, “ Dad what do you call those monsters who passes private territory? “ he only replied with one single word. He replied and said
The Monster scares the villagers, “some fled, some attacked” automatically hating the strange being that had come into their midst (75). However, the Monster does nothing against the villagers, even though he is seen with giant stature and brute strength. After the village incident, the Monster flees and finds a small family living in the wilderness in a small cottage. As he stays near the cottagers for a time, he begins to learn that he is indeed alone. He learns the roles of family members and yet he does nothing to provoke them.
I could barely keep myself from jumping out of my chair. I listened intently, noticing the pronunciation of each word as it danced out of my father’s mouth. “It was pitch black. I was only a year or two older than you, you know. And the forest… the forest was so dark. As we paddled through the water toward the floating black mass of the island, it became hard for me to tell where the water ended and the treeline began.” I felt my heart beating deep inside my chest and fought the urge to leap up and scream with excitement and fear.
Yes, I have pestered someone before. I pestered my dad when I was younger. I pestered him for me being able to play on my ipad. I couldn't have it and I just kept on asking, and asking, and asking, until he finally said yes. I don't recommend pestering someone do get what you want. Because you could get in trouble. There was this one time where I was pestering my mom, and I got in trouble. I would recommend being nice do them and then asking them politely. Doing this, you have a better chance at getting what you want.
As I inched my way toward the cliff, my legs were shaking uncontrollably. I could feel the coldness of the rock beneath my feet when my toes curled around the edge in one last futile attempt at survival. My heart was racing like a trapped bird, desperate to escape. Gazing down the sheer drop, I nearly fainted; my entire life flashed before my eyes. I could hear stones breaking free and fiercely tumbling down the hillside, plummeting into the dark abyss of the forbidding black water. The trees began to rapidly close in around me in a suffocating clench, and the piercing screams from my friends did little to ease the pain. The cool breeze felt like needles upon my bare skin, leaving a trail of goose bumps. The threatening mountains surrounding me seemed to grow more sinister with each passing moment, I felt myself fighting for air. The hot summer sun began to blacken while misty clouds loomed overhead. Trembling with anxiety, I shut my eyes, murmuring one last pathetic prayer. I gathered my last breath, hoping it would last a lifetime, took a step back and plun...
As I was squatting there in my little ditch while the snow rose about another inch I barely heard the sound of my grandma’s voice yelling my name. The cat had heard it too and scurried away; even though the cat was running away I was still not able to move because my legs would not work and I heard the sound of crunching footsteps coming from behind me looking for me but, I was still so scared that I realized that I came close to a wild animal that could really hurt me even though I thought that no animal could come into my grandparent’s property with the six foot high fence that surrounded the ten
I awoke, frightened and alone, with a monster standing beside my bed. Although my body was paralyzed with fear, my mind was awake, trying to figure out how this hideous creature could have found me. As I gazed into the hypnotizing, dark eyes of this giant, the room altered, and I found myself, once again, in the basement of my father’s house. Surrounded with medical equipment, a rush of adrenaline pulsed through my tired body, forcing it awake. The monster walked slowly through the room, dragging his long, boney finger along the table. I remembered this basement very well, as I spent a great deal of time occupying it; however, there was something different, something was missing, something had changed. I couldn’t quite put my finger on it. Before I could spot the difference, an odd aroma began filling the air, making it somewhat difficult to breathe. Once again I found myself spinning, falling through a dark tunnel with no sense of direction or time, I closed my eyes tightly. Whenever the spinning sensation concluded, I opened my eyes. The aroma was stronger here, forcing tears out of my eyes and my dinner back up my throat. I knew exactly where I was…
It was late I thought. Almost midnight yet I was still unable to sleep. I stared thoughtlessly at the moving shadows mumbling to myself, "it was just a story" but in my heart I knew it wasn't, it was more than a story, much, much more. Then, a crow appeared in the middle of my room. The crow stared at me with such intensity that I fell backwards into the safety of my pillow. I stared at the crow in shock as it disappeared into my closet and that's when I heard it, a long piercing whine that was like a nail to a chalkboard. I prayed that it would go away, I prayed with all my heart but it stayed there continuing its long whine. It was then when I caught a glimpse of it. I saw two glowing bloodshot eyes stare at me. I let out a scream born from terror and almost immediately my dad came bursting into my room. He stared at me with confusion but all I could do was point a shaking finger at my closet door. Cautiously, my father marched into the closet door only to find nothing inside. Then, without warning, the closet door slammed shut along with my father still inside.
I was going to leave this cave, no matter what the consequence is when I return. My thoughts wandered about what is on the outside of that rock wall as everyone continue to ramble. I wasn’t listening though all I could think about is why we were all so terrified of what was outside this cold dark cave. We all grew up in this cave never questioning our parents. Wondering day after day, night after night, month after month. Years have crept by and no one ever questioned on why we couldn’t leave the cave. After they died, we all started to wonder what was outside, but Tyler told us tales of Monsters in the night. We all knew they were lies, but we went along with them for the sake of our parents

En route of my journey from home to my destination I came across something that caught my attention. A hole intruding into the side of a hill beckoned me to investigate. Curiosity drew me to the mouth of the tunnel where I was overcome by a dank odor. It wasn’t the most inviting of places, concrete walkway leading into the dark unknown and a large gutter extruding rainwater from somewhere within it. I stepped to the threshold to see what lay within. An old shopping cart sat in the gutter on its side shrouded by an old tarp. The scrawling on the wall revealed to me that I was not the first one here. Looking into the tunnel I could see it extend into darkness. Like looking into infinity, there was no end in sight. Who is to say what could be inside: maybe a friend, maybe an enemy, maybe knowledge, maybe love, maybe death, maybe nothing. The only light shown from the world outside, the world I knew. There I stood, on the threshold between light and dark, one world and the next, the familiar and the unknown. My curiosity was almost unbearable…
I see the night making its approach from far away, like a swat team breaking into a house without previous notice. The stars’ shine like the bright lights at the disco making humans to move at their own rhythm. The breeze touches my window trying to find a safe place to pass the scary and dark
Just as I get a breath, the powerful monster swallows me once more. It finally hits me that I’m going to be under a long time. These are 20 ft waves, I think to myself. There is no way I am getting out of here the easy way. I feel the blood surge to my head as the paranoia sets in.
The queries long, perilous, and transforming journey within Nothingness' subconscious had prepared it for a new challenge. As a fledgling dream it would return to the place of its origin: the perilous stage of Nothingness’ consciousness—where no dream had ever been.
I looked up at the black sky. I hadn't intended to be out this late. The sun had set, and the empty road ahead had no streetlights. I knew I was in for a dark journey home. I had decided that by traveling through the forest would be the quickest way home. Minutes passed, yet it seemed like hours and days. The farther I traveled into the forest, the darker it seemed to get. I was very had to even take a breath due to the stifling air. The only sound familiar to me was the quickening beat of my own heart, which felt as though it was about to come through my chest. I began to whistled to take my mind off the eerie noises I was hearing. In this kind of darkness I was in, it was hard for me to believe that I could be seeing these long finger shaped shadows that stretched out to me. I had this gut feeling as though something was following me, but I assured myself that I was the only one in the forest. At least I had hoped that I was.
I can see myself running. I am running as fast as I can, relying on the aptitude of my feet to bring me to the other side of the passageway. As I struggle my way through the confining walls that precluded any source of light and filled the whole place with screaming darkness, I could distinctly see the panic and horror on my face. Then, I kept on looking back, checking if I am still being chased. Baffled by the identity of my chaser coupled with the intense strange feeling of fear, my thoughts are fixated on the glimpse of light at the end of the passageway which seemingly diminishes as I attempt to get closer.
