This essay is based on the semiotic and formal analysis of design differences and comparisons between art deco and art nouveau. the two movements surround the events of world war 1 mainly and influenced but political and social events within the western cultures such as France, England and America. both art movements play a significant role in representing the way people lived socially and representing such aspects of their life spans as wealth, religious views and political and economic influences.
The movement art nouveau was established during the 1890s .It lacked the grandiose aura about its presence and techniques that art deco possessed but made up for this with longevity in its impact and success as an art movement. Art nouveau is a movement that has been inspired by forms of nature itself and this was represented in the results of nouveau inspired products such as curtains with excessively frilly trimmings and the influx of indoor gardens or greenhouses. the main forms of this natural influence on this art for was vegetation which what basically flowers petals branches etc. At this early stage, mass publications of art and design were being shown in museums and also public and local galleries which was the fragile start of art nouveau cultural life.
The main perception through the role of art and design in this period placed by art nouveau practitioners is intriguingly relevant to the collections of historic art found within the V&A museum. The practitioner beliefs were that all the existing arts of that current time period should collaborate together without issues of any sort; while each art form or movement had its own unique form of perception and expression while maintaining their basic traditions where all considered...

This form was mainly embraced during its decline as a movement as it became so popular that it was being watered down and lost its ingenuity and integrity as an art form. this was helped by the first world war as the war required an influx of new technology to fight with. things were further stimulated by the returned growth of the economy which meant that people had more money to spend thus were able to purchase better quality and luxury products. art deco began after as the period of glamour and extravagance which saw the creation and usage of new materials such as metals chrome and platinum, and the increase usage of vibrant paters such as stripes and zigzags used of furniture pieces both movements have greatly influenced their later years even after the second world war up to the 1960s which saw art deco revived for a short while.
