I chose the “Marble Shatters Drinking Glass” painting since it had a lot of meaning to me. I see a shattered drinking glass with glass and a marble flying. Edward Ruscha created this artwork. This artwork is a painting and it made out of oil on canvas. The name of this artwork is “Marble Shatters Drinking Glass”.
“Marble shatters drinking glass” was created in 1968. The other major events in 1968 were the day MLK was assassinated. Apollo 8 was the first mission to orbit the moon. The objects that are in the painting is one marble and the broken glass and its shattered pieces. I notice the shattered glass with the pieces flying back and forward. The red throughout the painting is a little light and dark. Also there is black at the top

This means that life has it’s up and down and you can react anyway you know that will help you. The meaning to me is you will struggle with a lot of things as you get older and you got to control it. This relates to me that my life is up and down a lot since I was young with all the struggles I had. I feel happy when I look at it because it makes me think about that life will go on without you wanting it to stop it all the time.
I think the marble is a struggle person and the drinking glass is the person’s life. The shattered pieces are the struggles that the person has gone through. He wanted to show that you can create painting using everyday objects. Also that a lot of everyday objects can be a symbol for anything you feel. He created this artwork because he was struggling with something and wanted to show it. The value of this work is that it is conveying a message saying that things happen for a reason and that you can’t control what happens in your life. The work definitely has a benefit for others, since they might understand like me with all the messages it shows. This work communicates an idea that would value for others. The work is lacking due to the poor use of the elements of art by he could have a lot more
Wayne, transforms this painting into a three dimensional abstract piece of art. The focal point of the painting are the figures that look like letters and numbers that are in the front of the piece of art. This is where your eyes expend more time, also sometimes forgiving the background. The way the artist is trying to present this piece is showing happiness, excitement, and dreams. Happiness because he transmits with the bright colours. After probably 15 minutes on front of the painting I can feel that the artist tries to show his happiness, but in serene calm. The excitement that he presents with the letters, numbers and figures is a signal that he feels anxious about what the future is going to bring. Also in the way that the colors in the background are present he is showing that no matter how dark our day can be always will be light to
The black background contrast with the predominate colors of blue and red gives these colors intensity. The red and green are complementary colors that give the painting visual appeal. The green juxtapose above the blue and red gives the artwork color balance as well as implies a triangular shape. The triangular shape and pattern is repeated throughout the painting by; the bend of the flute player's elbow, the head and shoulders of the guitar player, the head and shoulders of the lady whose back is to the viewer, the body of the guitars and the location of the three right-most musicians
As Hirsch intended, the painting is meant to teach a lesson in judgement and retribution. Hirsch’s painting showed the how we as human are susceptible to greed and it is something we need to overcome or we will be judged and punished.
The colors used in the painting are dark and some parts bright illustrating a focal point being the skull in the center as well as the quill, both surrounded by darker colors in comparison.
My initial thought about this painting is that it seems to be incorrect. The reflection in the mirror shows that the lady is looking in the direction of the man standing in front of her. If the lady is looking at the man their reflections should not be off to the side. The second observation is the lady is sad or disappointed and is looking past the man standing in front of her. My last observation is there are three sections from left to right; bottles and the audience, the lady, and the reflections of the lady and man. The most interesting concept about this artwork is how the reflections seem to be inaccurate. If the bottles and the reflections of the lady and the man standing in front of her are at an angle, then why are the vertical lines perpendicular to each other?
I chose the art piece entitled An American Ship in Distress because it looks pretty amazing. Another reason I chose to analyze this piece as opposed to the others is because it was the piece I liked the most, therefore making me analyze it more closely and discover other aspects of the work would make me appreciate it more. I also chose this because I enjoy being on boats and this really caught my attention. In this art work it shows a ship being tossed around by the stormy ocean waves. The artist who painted this piece is named Thomas Birch. The medium is an oil painting on canvas. This painting was made in 1841 and it’s from the Putnam Foundation. This work does fit into a genre and it’s a waterscape.
It shows here that being strong in every problem will make you understand how beautiful life is that you can make it turn it into your

The back of the painting shows brick red buildings which are billowing smoke out of the top of them. The red in the buildings could be symbolizing the red
Although Eichendorff’s story displays religious elements, the pious facets take on a different form than in Psyche. In “The Marble Statue”, Sunday remains a holy day where evil subsides. God and Satan manifest into the metaphysical through characters, settings, and motifs. Fortunato is a pure character directing Florio towards the path of the righteous man while Donati is a sinister man leading the boy into temptation. The seductress is the embodiment of evil while Bianca is the good. The aspect of religion is demonstrated in a more direct manner in Psyche. The artist abandons a life of art to become a brethren of the covenant where it is proclaimed the Goddess of Art is “a witch who carries towards vanity, towards earthly pleasure”. The good and evil is left to interpretation in “The Marble Statue” while religion in Andersen's tales contains a straightforward portrayal of faith and sin.
with of Impressionism. I also chose this painting because I find it really intriguing how a simple
One of the visual elements of this painting is the color he really uses the color to get people's attention because he uses watercolors to blend them together to make such a wonderful painting. He blends many different colors together to make new ones there is not a spot in this painting that there isn’t color. The second visual element is the people in the painting they are naked and dancing around like nobody's looking. The people in the painting are relaxing and enjoying one another and various ways. Some are even having sexual contact in the painting it’s expressing themselves from one to
Additionally, the achievement of the “good life” is inhibited by belief in consequential ethics, in which the morality of an action is judged solely by its outcome. In a thought-provoking parallel, Dworkin analogizes “living well” with artistic creation, suggesting that both encompass the performance of life or artistic creation rather than the product, the “completed narrative” of a life or the piece of artwork produced. In exploring the relation between the value of the object and the value of the process, Dworkin writes, “We value great art most fundamentally not because the art as product enhances our lives but because it embodies a performance, a rising to artistic challenge. We value human lives well lived not for the completed
The arts have influenced my life in amazing ways. Throughout my life, art has been the place I run to and my escape from the world. As I’ve grown older, art has become so much more than that. Every piece of art I create is a journey into my soul. It’s a priceless way to deal with my emotions and my struggles. I create art not only because I enjoy it and because I want to, but because I have to. Somewhere deep inside there is a driving force, urging me to put my heart down on paper. I become emotionally attached to each of my pieces because they are like dashes on the wall marking my growth. Each one is the solution to a problem I have dealt with and overcome.
