This question is only for the individuals who were single. I feel this is an essential question as it shows if those from the more youthful generation consider arranged married or not. This is important to the subject that if a person doesn't need an organized marriage, their responses to the following few questions would be different compared with the individuals who are thinking or getting an arranged marriage. Here I got an extremely changed result. The individuals who ticked "depends" ex-pained that in the event that he or she can't find a partner by themselves, then they would consider an arranged marriage.

What this structured bar graph shows are the number of individuals who felt that marriage is either essential or not. Many people said that yes, marriage is necessary while 3 individuals felt that it isn't. There was only one individual who wasn't certain. These outcomes demonstrate that marriage is still extremely prominent; however, a couple individuals feel that it isn't really important at all time. This may be

On the other hand, there are a couple individuals who said no and after that clarified this. One of them said that there are still a great number of arranged marriages. We'll discover this if we veiw different cultures. Someone else said that there are as much as arranged marriages as there was in the past, i.e. there hasn't been much that changed. The individuals who weren't certain said that 'nowadays, particularly amongst the young, are attempting to discover somebody they love first. In the event that it isn't possible, they proceed with arranged marriage'. This clarifies why they weren't certain because there are still arranged marriages, however individuals are first searching for affection first. Those respondents who weren't certain whether arranged marriages are declining or not felt that it is still about the
According to the author, Lizette Alvarez, in the article “Arranged Marriages Get a Little Reshuffling”, Arranged marriages are better than modern marriages and parents can choose good mates for young. First, the arranged marriage has changed a lot in modern time. Arranged marriages are more flexible because young people can meet several times in some public venues without family members. Parents and elders have become more lenient. Second, arranged marriages have more advantages than modern marriages. Arranged marriages can preserve religion and identity and help people to find their mates in the same social class. Arranged marriages can outlast modern marriages because couples can avoid social and religions disharmony. Finally, young people prefer arranged marriage to modern marriage. Young people would spend less time to find their mate because their parents, chat rooms and dating websites help find mates for them. Young people can easily find their mates who have the same education level and social status. As a young person, I do not agree with the author because other people migh...
In the article “Grounds for Marriage: How Relationships Succeed or Fail” by Arlene Skolnick talks a lot about how the attitudes towards marriages now a days is much different then what peoples attitudes have been in the past. The article talks about how there are two parts of every marriage “the husband’s and the wife’s”. This article touches on the affects cohabitation, and how cohabitation is more likely to happen among younger adults. This article talks about how the younger adults are more inclined to cohabitate before marriage, and that currently the majority of couples that are interring in to marriage have previously lived together. The article stats that some of the Possible reasons for couples to live together before marriage might include shifting norms
The tradition of arranged marriages is decreasing with the rising independence of women. That does not mean that some people may not choose arranged marriages as the path for them but in most cases people will prefer to marry for love. For the children of Mr. Smolinsky, they would have chosen the men they loved instead of the men they were forced to marry with the exception of Sara who did marry for love.
Is marriage really important? There is a lot of controversy over marriage and whether it is eminent. Some people believe it is and some people believe it is not. These opposing opinions cause this controversy. “On Not Saying ‘I do’” by Dorian Solot explains that marriage is not needed to sustain a relationship or a necessity to keep it healthy and happy. Solot believes that when a couple gets married things change. In “For Better, For Worse”, Stephanie Coontz expresses that marriage is not what is traditional in society because it has changed and is no longer considered as a dictator for people’s lives. The differences between these two essays are the author’s writing style and ideas.
Arranged marriages are typically not practiced in the United States, however, they are still a part of other cultures. While arranged marriages are often seen as a barbaric or outdated practice, they can still be successful. It may not seem important to study arranged marriages since they are not widely practiced in modern America or other western cultures but some benefits of arranged marriages found could be used to lessen the negative image western civilizations have about cultures that continue the practice of arranged marriages. There are definitely drawbacks in the practice of arranged marriage but there are also benefits that are often overlooked.
The author at first had a very discouraging view of arranged marriage as he states, " The most un-American thing I could think of being was the child of an arranged marriage". It is known that the basic building block of society is the family. In the Western world, which is where the author has his perspective of, many couples meet, find themselves attracted to each other, decide to date each other exclusively and decide to form a permanent relationship. Whereas, in the Korean tradition, "marriage in Korea was more an act of family piety than of love." The author also is able to let us know what he wants to see love as, "love is supposed to be tragic, and thrilling, full of sweepings-off-the-feet and being lost in each other 's
“A recent Pew Research Center survey showed that 39 percent of respondents believe marriage is becoming obsolete. And as far as the issue of living together vs. marriage, 55 percent of respondents felt that it was a good thing or made no difference if a couple lived together without being married.” The older generations are surprised at how different the newest generation is. They are the ones fighting against the new generation. They do not want change and are not prepared for it. It is different than what they grew up with and it’s breaking what they have always known.

However, many people doubt the fact as to whether or not to live together with their future partners. Some of them think about it as an effective way to have a chance to get to know a potential husband/spouse. Meanwhile, others completely deny the idea due to their disagreements with certain religious beliefs. Wydick suggested that, “the increase in premarital cohabitation is a product of a general movement within western society away from traditional ideas about marriage, divorce, birth control, abortion, women’s rights, and a host of other related issues” (4). Consequently, now people are more open-minded, meaning that they accept the idea of pre-cohabitation mainly as a social institution.
Modern arranged marriages are arranged by the child's parents. They choose several possible mates for their child, sometimes with the help of the child (who may indicate which photos, biographic he or she likes). The parents then arrange a meeting with the family of the mate and they will often have short unsupervised meeting (an hour long walk around the neighborhood together for example) (Arrange Marriages). The child will then choose who they w...
The debate on whether to get married or stay single has been raging for a long while, with both sides of the coin having their own pros and cons regarding the matter. Many proponents of either marriage or single life have strong individual convictions, and it is difficult to reach a definitive objective conclusion. Is the married individual happier than his/her single counterpart, or is getting married just a comfort seeking ritual that people believe they have to fulfill at some point in their lives? It is necessary to dissect this issue in the light of four factors: health and other medical factors, the economic and finance front, mental and emotional wellbeing and lastly, the social factor.

...eing married, Marriage used to really be something that lasted until you died however, now marriage aren’t a lifetime commitment. Finally the other reason Stanton says that marriage is deteriorating is because it has become re-definable. He means that marriage used to always be between and male and a female but now society is pushing for same gender marriages to be recognized. These changes certainly have an impact on the way our society treats the sacred union of marriage. Regardless of what marriage has become the research definitely shows an evolution of the term marriage.
Arranged Marriage In general, arranged marriage has provided people with fundamental principles about the importance of marriage and how a person can find happiness. Arranged marriage defines marriage between a man and a woman, which arranged by the couple's parents and relatives based on family ties and traditions. Although marriage is described as the oldest and enduring human institution, the reasons for marrying have differed from culture to culture. In common circumstances, cultural, religious, economic, age, educational level, and racial factors play a role in determining who the person can marry and the form of marriage. Some statistics find that the rate of divorce is low in arranged marriages and high in love marriages.
