Climate change and global warming is a highly debated subject. There are people on both side with strong opinions. People who believe in climate change are sometimes labeled as alarmists, while those who think that climate change is a hoax are referred to as deniers. Some people like to argue about existence of climate change with the help of scientific data, others respond to these data with skepticism and alternative science. At this point, topic of climate change has almost become like a football match with passionate supporters on both sides. Sometimes argument can be reasonable, other times it transcends into a slapfight. Hyperboles and exaggerations are often employed by both teams. There are multiple researches and hard science that support the fact that global warming is alive and kicking. In “The Uninhabitable Earth”, David Wallace-Wells provides multiple proofs for global warming. He has highlighted and provides citation for all of his claims. He mentions how we are adding carbon at rates that is ten times faster. Carbon is a major culprit in retaining heat. He also talks about how the planet has experienced 50-fold increase in quantity of places with extreme heat. All of these facts are chilling, yet true. His claims has been backed by reproducible research. The planet is indeed at a critical stage. In “The world passes 400 PPM Threshold. Permanently”, Brian Kahn mentions how global carbon dioxide rate has passed 400 ppm marks. He also admits the fact that it would take a significant amount of time to bring it down. He goes as far as saying that we wouldn’t be able to see it below 400 ppm even in our lifetime. While there are natural factors that are responsible for climate change, the pace at which climate change is occurring evades natural explanations. In “Climate change evidence and causes” the authors write, “These analyses have shown that the observed climate changes of the past several decades cannot be explained just by natural …show more content…

Without being a co-conspirator in any of climate change activities, they still have to face the wrath of global warming. In “We are heading towards a world without animals”, Simon barnes writes, “According to the Living Planet Index, compiled by WWF and the Zoological Society of London, the world’s wild animals will decline in number by two-thirds by 2020”. He also mentions how climate increase of up to 2 celsius will lead to more extinctions of animals like polar bear. Even for those people who don’t concern themselves with agendas of animals, global warming provides a real problem. In “This is how your world ends”, Peter Brannen mentions, “If warmings of 10C were really to occur in the next three centuries, the area of land likely rendered uninhabitable by heat stress would dwarf that affected by rising sea level.” All of these are discomforting predictions, but if global warming continues, then it is a bitter
