The Bermuda Triangle, also known as “The Devils Triangle”, is an imaginary triangle located off the coast of Bermuda. The Triangle’s corners meet at the coasts of Bermuda, Puerto Rico, and Florida, taking up a massive chunk of the Atlantic. The Triangle has been discussed in the pseudoscience world as an anomaly with endless paranormal activity and unexplained terrors. In the Triangle, planes have gone missing, people have disappeared never to be found, and horror stories arise when the Triangle is discussed. The history behind the Bermuda Triangle still continues to baffle many, leaving men and women abroad to question why strange things happen in that portion of the ocean. Methane gasses, magnetic pulls, and disruptions due to earthquakes and volcanoes are to blame for the many disappearances throughout the past couple of years. Even though every worry about the triangle can be scientifically backed up, commercial airlines such as Southwest, United, and American Airlines dare not to go near the triangle. The only planes that attempt to fly over the triangle are if a private or personal aircraft wanted to risk it all to be. According to ABC News reporters Emily Shapiro and Catherine Thorbecke, a mother with her 2 children, decided to fly directly over the triangle from Puerto Rico to Florida. The Miami Air Traffic Control reported back that the aircraft “lost radar and radio contact” and that there was “no indication of significant adverse weather at the time” that the family and pilot was flying over the triangle (Shapiro). Mostly due to the magnetic pull of the Triangle, the family got lost at sea, never to be heard from again.
