The Bermuda Triangle is the home of approximately just under a thousand “unexplained” disappearances in the past five hundred years. This area has generated unproven tales that have served as “explanations” for these disappearances. The triangle is also known for its unique weather and other “unnatural” occurrences. However, each story or occurrence within the Bermuda Triangle can be explained. Weather in the Bermuda Triangle is more unique than any other area in the world. There is a very present magnetic field that is linked with a phenomenon called electronic fog. This fog has been known to mysteriously roll in without much indication and has taken planes after causing their compasses and other navigational equipment to fail. The fog …show more content…
One of the disappearances involves Flight 19. “Five Avenger torpedo bombers lifted into the air from the Naval Air Station at Fort Lauderdale, Florida, at 2:10 in the afternoon” (“The Mystery”). The goal of the flight was to practice bomb runs and did not seem to be unusual. The pilots consisted of all students except for one commander whose name was Lt. Charles Taylor. However, the Charles Taylor was not familiar with the area around which they were flying. Taylor then became frustrated and confused which caused them to end up miles of course (“The Mystery”). Pilot experience when flying is important and could be the reason why a flight makes it to its destination or does not. Another disappearance involves the loss of NC16002. “NC16002 was a DC-3 passenger plane that vanished on the night of December 28, 1948, during a flight from San Juan, Puerto Rico, to Miami, Florida” (“The Mystery”). “Investigators focused on the fact that Huber wasn’t licensed to fly in the dark, using only instruments, and that the plane had taken off from the Bahamas before sunrise” (MacGregor 38). Pilot experience and training can be seen as the reason why these flights never made it to where they were supposed to go which is explanation as to why the planes …show more content…
“‘The ‘Bermuda Triangle’, or ‘Devil’s Triangle’, is a mythical geographic area’, states a fact sheet issued by the U.S. Coast Guard” (Gaffron 17). One of the most influential groups in the United States believes that the Bermuda Triangle is only a myth. “Most rational explanations for the incidents in the Bermuda Triangle, including the explanations given by the U.S. Navy and Coast Guard, include human error and environmental effects” (Obringer). The U.S. Navy has lost quite a few ships in the Bermuda Triangle region and believe that the reason behind those disappearances involved either human or technical difficulties. “Plane ditchings or explosions in flight may result from many causes; lack of visible evidence being explained by the truism that ‘It’s a big ocean’” (Berlitz 6) The reports from the people that actually lost lives believe in that something bad but normal happened which is a sound explanation for the
This paper will prove it will remain unknown if the Unidentified Flying Object (UFO) crash sighting at Roswell, New Mexico on July 4th, 1947 did happen, although the government is hiding Extraterrestrial information there. The following is a list of terms that may become confusing to some readers.
This is extremely dangerous. Technology is so far advanced, it is unneccisary for a human being to risk his or her life for data that can be found a simpler and safer way. In paragraph 4, Ralph O'Hair describes the intence winds that beat and endanger the plane "like a stick in a dog's mouth." It must be very unnerving, to be thrown around like that. The reason for brave pilots to do this now is explained in paragraph 10, "As it flies through the eyewall and the hurricane's center, the airplane launches dropsondes, small instruments attached to parachutes. The devices fall to the ocean and transmit bursts of data to the airplane twice every second. The data includes temperature, humidity, atmospheric pressure, as well as the speed and direction of winds." It is neccisary for scientist and meteorologist to come up with a safer way to collect
Finally, in 1997, the US military admitted to lying about the object being a weather balloon. Instead they claim that the wreckage was part of a “top-secret experiment”(Mitton 11) involving some sort of balloon. Steve MacKenzie’s response, “if the object he tracked had been a weather balloon, secret or not, his superiors would have ordered him to ignore it.”(Dudley 35)
“In total, six airplanes and 27 men appear to have vanished” (How). On December 5th of 1945, five U.S. Navy bombers went missing without a trace of why. Later a rescue plane was sent to search for the plane and the survivors, but those planes disappeared as well. That incident is one of the most famous and well known disappearances in the area (How). The Bermuda triangle is an area in the Atlantic Ocean which many people believe mysterious disappearances have taken place. It reaches Puerto Rico, Florida, and Bermuda in a triangle shape that covers approximately 500,000 square miles (History). The mysterious disappearances in the Bermuda triangle are myths as evidenced by people who travel the area safely every day, there is no scientific proof of the mysteries, and there are scientific reasons why people have disappeared.
This suggests that when humans who are traveling through the Bermuda Triangle make a wrong decision as far as direction, speed, altitude, etc. goes, it can often cost them their life. The same goes for many other things such as driving, you can’t remove human error from normal, often dangerous tasks, and that is when you get problems such as the disappearances in the Bermuda Triangle. Another contributor to human error that Dr. Karl Kruszelnicki noted was, “It is close to the equator, near a wealthy part of the world, America, therefore you have a lot of traffic, and a lot of room for error.” (Macdonald 2017) What he meant by this was that when you put a high concentration of traffic in a relatively small area, you have the possibility for collisions and overcorrections due to human error. After all, human
The Triangle of Death, The Limbo of the Lost, The Twilight Zone, The Port of Missing Ships, The Devil’s Triangle, The Hoodoo Sea, The Deadly Triangle. These and many more are names for the mysterious Bermuda Triangle. The Bermuda Triangle has been a huge mystery to many since the early 1900's. The Triangle is an area located in the western Atlantic Ocean, where supposedly many ships, people, planes, and other objects disappear unexplainably. The three points of location that connect the triangle are Miami, Florida, Bermuda, and San Juan, Puerto Rico. The triangle covers about five hundred thousand square miles of ocean. However, there is no official boundaries or markers for the triangle, just recognized linings. Over the past five centuries, more than a thousand ships and planes have disappeared inside of the triangle boundaries, and still to this day continue to do so. There are many theories behind these happenings. However, no one has yet found the real truth behind it.
For nearly ten years, Miami has not seen hurricane landfall. This fact may be troubling to those who are inclined to believe, whether through superstition or scientific knowledge, that one is bound to occur anytime now It may be pleasing news for those who have not had to suffer the destruction of these weather-beasts in ten years. Nostalgia, however, is my overwhelming reaction to the topic of hurricanes. I am taken back to candle-lit evenings tinged a mixture two parts electric fear one part mystic coziness.

“Writers have blamed the triangle’s supposed lethalness on everything from aliens, Atlantis and sea monsters to time warps and reverse gravity fields, whereas more scientifically minded theorists have pointed to magnetic anomalies, waterspouts or huge eruptions of methane gas from the ocean floor” (History.com Staff). The most reasonable theory would be methane gas. Oceanographers have discovered that the trouble behind all of this could be a simple solution of methane gas (Stewart 83). The Bermuda Triangle holds the most deposits of methane gas ever known. Such of an event of methane gas could cause anything to sink without enough time to send a SOS signal.
The Bermuda Triangle: A Pseudomystery Unknown electromagnetic forces, a mythical underwater city, time lapsing portals; these are a few of the theories surrounding the Bermuda Triangle. Controversial views between superstition and fact have been widely debated. At the center of this dispute are Berlitz and Kusche, two opposing stances trying to either defend or dispute these mysterious occurrences. While numerous observations are directed toward the Bermuda Triangle, ranging from the rational explanation of methane gas to the supernatural theory of the utopian city of Atlantis, neither have been completely proven leaving this mystery to remain “pseudoscience.”
World ocean keeps many secrets, and like all other mysteries around the world, many scientists hope to discover these mysteries to aid in our understanding of the world we live in. However, there are many unknown mysteries that remain unsolved even though many scientists have been done much research on it. Among the most famous mysteries is the mystery of Bermuda Triangle, in which many ships and planes have been disappeared in the mysterious Bermuda Triangle. Bermuda Triangle is a triangular area with points at Bermuda (a North-Atlantic island), Miami (in Florida) and San Juan (in Puerto Rico). It covers approximately 500,000 square miles. The phrase “Bermuda Triangle” was coined by Vincent H. Gaddis in a magazine article in 1964. Many think
In conclusion the bermuda triangle is an imaginary triangle with a deadly reputation. No explanation has been proven correct and the mystery is still to be solved. After countless events of paranomal activity being reported, it is difficult to believe that the triangle is a safe place with nothing peculiar about it, even though most researchers believe differently. The sense of mystery, publicized occurances of paranormal activity, and attention from scientists and researchers has continued to fuel interest on the matter.
The universe is a vast expanse of mysteries and unreachable knowledge that even the greatest human minds cannot begin to comprehend. Despite all the breakthroughs in the scientific community, we still do not understand many things. One phenomenon that causes such bafflement – especially in popular culture – is the Bermuda Triangle. Known for the mystifying disappearances of various aircrafts and vessels, the Bermuda Triangle is one of the greatest mysteries on Earth. However, what is the Bermuda Triangle, why is it such a popular topic, and is it as inexplicable as the rumors say?
The disappearance of Flight 19 and the USS Cyclones are just some of the things that occurred and are based on the Bermuda Triangle. Theories like the Methane Hydrate and others are merely assumptions made by scientists in hopes of unfolding the mystery of the Triangle, when in reality we will never know for sure what happens within the Bermuda’s itself. ... of an accident in the Bermuda Triangle that cause mysterious accidences . Before the telegraph was born, the sailors have no way of knowing that a storm is approaching because of the complex tropical weather . Such as on 18.03.1781, the warships of the U.S. Navy Saratoga was missing with the entire crew in a sudden storm then tornado on Bahamas ocean . Seafloor Bermuda Triangle has many pockets huge methane is formed from the geological changes millions of years ago. When a large amount of methane is flashed up on the water, it will form large air bubbles and significantly reduce the density of the surrounding waters. Any ship that is set in this low-density waters quickly lost buoyancy and sank very easy. Also methane are high flammable gas , with the large amount of highly flammable methane gas is rising high in the air, it can make airplane engine explosion .
