Can you believe that our government is even considering cutting funds for our space program! Our space program is something we need to benefit our life. Our space center benefits us in many ways when we contribute money into the program. The governments funding helps find better ways to live on the space shuttle to help it feel as normal as possible for astronauts The governments funding will also let us visit and try to colonize on mars . The final reason is that we can find more about our planet and other planets in the galaxy. Even though we have found amazing ways for astronauts to live in space it is possible for them to live better. First of all the food they eat is not like the kind of food we eat on our dinner plate at home.As we

were shown at NASA they have a dry packet of a certain food and then they stick the end to the machine which pumps water into the packet so it is no longer dry. Like the lettuce plants they have been growing. As amazing as that is it probably isn't that appetizing.They also have to reuse about 90% of their water! From their breath to their sweat to stay hydrated. ( They use a purifier to clean the fluids to turn it back to water). I'm sure the astronauts would probably not want to drink all of the sweat and breath they produced from the day before.Another way to use the funding's is using it to find better ways for them to live. Like on way they have already improved their living is with teaming up with Bigelow which creates a home that will pump up with air in a "Jiffy Pop" kind of way. This will allow them to have more space but save money and weight. Another way government funding's can benefit our society is by helping go to Mars. Nasa is hoping to launch a rocket/shuttle on Mars somewhere in the 2030 range. They will need a lot of money to help them go that far of a distance. Not to mention they are trying to colonize their, which will take a lot of food and supplies for them to live their during that period of time.Well first of all they have to keep a lot of rovers in Mars to make sure the living conditions are right so our astronauts can live a healthy life.Obivisouly they need to know what to expect. Another thing about being prepared is training. They have already started on simulators but they need real life experience. Nasa has wrote how they want to send them with the Orion Spacecraft past the moon to train how it is space walking and such.They are also building a space ship that will cost millions of dollars to make for a long trip. This will all be worth it though when our astronauts go to Mars and find out how hard it is to adjust to Mars and to see if it is possible to send people to live their.

NASA helped usher in a promising new future in the 1960s and it was rewarded with a rapidly-eroding budget. The U.S. should invest more money in NASA and less on unnecessary health care and military.
