Life on the Road It’s fair to say that life on the road is something most people do not desire, as a way to live out their days; but a young man named Chris McCandless believed it was necessary to avoid the venomous grips of society. McCandless goes as far as to venture out to the rest of the United States and even crossing borders to achieve his true destination, Alaska. He shows us living such a life can hold many unique and wonderful experiences.
GM is already producing the technology catering to the autonomous driving system in instalments as each new car produced, displays a prototype of a sophisticated “assisted driving” feature. Drivers of the Cadillac ATS sedan, a mid-sized car with a driver assistance, can now leave it to drive itself and maintain a safe distance in steady traffic. It can also measure a parking space and steer itself into it, read traffic signals, and warn the driver if he breaks the speed limit. Emergency brakes that overrule the driver’s actions in the case of an accident, add to special features that will be seen in automatic cars.
Distracted driving is something myself, as a driver, encounters everyday. From resisting to look at my phone, to seeing other people on the road using their phone and putting my life in danger. When I see people swerving because they’re distracted, it puts an image into my mind that I’ve heard too many stories about. People are dying because of a text, or a phone call, not to mention the plethora of other distractions on the road. I am declaring my independence from distracted driving because I care about my community, it could put me in harms way, and a life is way more important than a simple message.
Another benefit is provided by the company is emergency ride home programs. Emergency ride home (ERH) programs provide commuters who regularly carpool, vanpool, bike, walk, or transit to work with a reliable ride home when unexpected emergency arises. ERH programs are designed to rescue commuters who are worried about how they will get home in the event of an emergency. ERH programs may be established by individual employers. Usually the employer will pay for a taxi or rental car home in the case that an employee who is carpool passenger has to leave in the middle of the day or the carpool driver is for some reason unavailable. ERH tends to be a low-cost way to encourage carpool use, especially if a company only fills in coverage for areas
Joshua Miller Professor James Rizzi English 112 8 May 2024 Exploring Home 1 In literature, the idea of "home" transcends mere physical spaces; it represents emotions, memories, cultural identities and how they find themselves to be mixed together. In this paper, I approach the concept of home that is depicted in two works that we have gone over this semester. Octavia Butler's Kindred and William Shakespeare's Othello both go into different ways that characters perceive home; this highlights the importance of home to the overall human experience and how it can have different meanings. Kindred brings the reading back to the antebellum south, where the concept of home is formed from the harsh history of slavery and oppression.

It is the second or third time this year you’ve been without your ride, presenting a major inconvenience to yourself, your family and to others. Sometimes you need to the weigh the cost of making repairs with the practicality of replacing your car.
Imagine after a long day of work going home and finding that your yard needs to be mowed. Your lawn mower is not starting, your weed whacker is broken, and nothing is going your way. You do not have a clue what is wrong with your equipment and it is only minutes before the store closes. Now you need to load all of your equipment up into the back of the truck or on the trailer. You are speeding down the road to get to the store before they flip the closed sign but you do not make it in time. Not only have you wasted valuable time, but you have to start the whole process over tomorrow. Being a small engine repair man as a hobby or a career you could save both time and money by having the ability to fix the equipment you own, at home and solve minor mechanical problems.

Technology is evolving faster than ever these days, however there is one technology that could revolutionize the transportation industry. This technology is called autonomous cars, also known as self-driving cars. Autonomous cars can be defined as a vehicle that is capable of sensing its environment, and navigating without human input. Using different techniques such as GPS and radar, autonomous cars can detect surroundings, thus removing the human element in driving. This would have a positive effect in more ways than we could ever imagine. Research suggests that self-driving cars will become more abundant in the future because they will be more cost-effective, enhance safety, and decrease traffic congestion.
For most people driving a vehicle is a normal and every day process. On any given day driving in city or town traffic one can experience a number of noises by either their own of somebody else’s vehicle. Car repair can be very expensive, and lately, do-it-yourself projects are very popular. In today’s Internet world, the driver has an option to explore the World Wide Web for information on symptoms, problems, and, depending on the service, the repair procedure.
Many of us have had close calls when the unexpected happens while driving. Most of the time, other drivers cause the unexpected things that demand emergency maneuvers on our part. In a way, that's fortunate because it's far easier to predict the actions of another human being than events caused by inanimate objects, such as a tree dropping a large branch on the road. Those occurrences are usually rare.
Knowing how to drive a car myself, I can’t expect an accident to occur. It just happens without your knowledge and sometimes without your fault too. It’s better to take precautions just in case such a thing happens. This will surely help you financially for the repairs of the vehicle.
“Motor vehicle crashes are the leading cause of unintentional deaths for teens (16-17),” reported The New York State Department of Health. The most exciting thing about being sixteen in the United States is driving. Teenagers can not wait to be sixteen to drive, however, they do not understand the dangers that come with driving at such a young age. Sixteen is the age between child life and adulthood. It is a time when they are not stable and undergoing change, which makes them unsuitable to drive. Many teenagers would say that they need to get to places. In response to that claim, there are public transportation systems and bikes as available alternatives for young drivers. The financial stability and matureness of eighteen year olds proves
