The topic of race has been a controversial discussion for decades. Many individuals are not educated enough on the topic of race/ethnicity which then causes tension and arguments with the people who may disagree with what one has to say. I can easily say in the year of 2015, Twitter was almost a war zone when it came to race. Almost anything anyone said about the topic of race would cause an argument or fight. While African Americans are not the only ones being discriminated against, many can agree that most of the prejudice regarding race is directed towards them. Race is “a group whose inherited physical characteristics distinguish it from other groups” while ethnicity is “having distinctive cultural characteristics” (Henslin, 2011). While I am an African American with parents born in Ethiopia, I have a lot of friends of different races with various cultural backgrounds. After interviewing one on my white friends about race, I was very shocked and interested in the answers she provided. I can honestly say it was difficult for me to find a person of a different race to interview. Not because I don't know any, but because I tend to surround myself around people of the same race as me. I’m also not the type of person to go up to a random individual and ask them if I can interview them. After searching around for a bit, I remembered a friend I had at school. I simply approached her and asked her if I could ask her a series of questions. Luckily, she was very open to the idea and gave me great feedback. The first question I asked her was whether she was an American of if she came from a different country. She said “I am an American and was born here too.” I then proceeded to ask how she would identify herself in terms of race/ethnicity. She responded “I
