As we all know there is no place like home, I'm talking about real homes, not nursing homes. So many people with disabilities can live in these communities with real support instead of being put away in nursing homes. The decision that a disabled person can be safely put back into his or her home is a decision that should be made in with the doctors or health care practitioner, and if possible the applicant’s close family members that is responsible. For years, people with disabilities have wanted other way or programs from nursing homes and other facilities when they have needed up in a long term care. The other disabled parties that are trying to escape the pull of total dependency and may not be ready to come to terms with living in a sheltered, segregated, skilled nursing institution. If they still have goals, they may find life there extremely depressing and then have that led to a more tragic case. As Americans we all have the right for freedom to do as we like but is a probable manor. Having the individuals on their own, they will more than likely stop taking their prescribed medications due to being more active around the community.
