In the early 1960s President Kennedy had a vision of future manned space flight to the Moon. Now today NASA has plans of sending a manned missions to Mars. The missions to Mars will hopefully take place in 2030. Many steps are still need in order for the Mars exploration to be a success. “NASA officials have said they hope to eventually set up a small outpost on the Red Planet, where astronauts would search for signs of Mars life and perform other research” (Wall Space.com). The knowledge taken for the Maars expeditions will help NASA with other advancements in technology. Once Mars is successfully colonized many new
Erwin 7 discoveries will take place as the understanding of Mars happens. “During this time, they would operate robots on the Martian surface, look for signs of life in samples of Red Planet dirt and rock, and take trips to the Martian moons Phobos and Deimos, among other

Not only will the Mars missions help our understanding of our Red Planet, but will also help NASA take further steps to other planetary explorations and deep space travel. “The Mars Base Camp a 132-ton Red Planet space station composed primarily of two Orion capsules and two habitat modules/science laboratories” (Wall Space.com). NASA scientist plans to use every bit of scientific data for future understanding. The astronauts will use their capsules as a Mars base and will use them to study Mars, Kennedy vision of future manned spaceflight to the Moon have set the stage for future manned spaceflight to Mars. The Space Launch System and the Orion Capsule will launch the astronauts into deep space. “Space Launch System (SLS) rocket and the Orion spacecraft will be the first of several missions that travel more than 40,000 miles beyond the moon to demonstrate capabilities in deep space farther than humans have ever traveled. . .NASA is
Would you want to live on Mars? Some would say yes, others no, I am against going to Mars and think that we should stick to Earth and put our time, money, and energy into fixing this planet. I will show you all the reason why we can not go to that red planet.
The first question is, why should we go to Mars? What are the advantages of traveling to Mars in the first place? One reason could be that it would help increase life across our universe, (Mars One 2017), Or to have another planet to live on if the Earth dies. Increasing life across our universe would help us spread out our population and prosper as the human race.
In going along with this plan, there will be more demand for scientists and engineers alike. Engineers will build the manned bases and vessels, while scientists occupy them and gather data to benefit the world. In this way, NASA will be able to see if it is possible to make Mars the next “Earth”, making plans to help make that a reality if this does happen. “Through space exploration and innovative thinking, NASA has injected science and inspiration into our culture and projected us into the future” (Haberle).
... are also starting to consider colonizing the Martian planet for scientific purposes. The Opportunity rover paved the way for Curiosity’s mission to discover life with its findings of mineral veins produced by water underground and surface rocks altered by moving water on the surface. Following these discoveries Curiosity exposed the presence of water in the Martian soil and the existence of habitat suitable for the survival of microbial life for millions of years. With more and more discoveries happening in such a short period of time one can only speculate when we will find the first hard evidence of life on Mars, which appears to be coming in the near future. In conclusion, all of these discoveries by NASA and the Mars rovers have paved the way for future Martian research and people dreaming of one day colonizing Mars, and mankind can only hope for more to come.
A new algorithm was made after there was trouble with the Hubble Telescope being blurry. This algorithm was introduced to a doctor who applied it to X-ray images to detect breast cancer. We cannot yet predict what kind of technologies will be made to have a manned mission to Mars, or how it will affect the agricultural and medical fields. However, we will not find out if we do not push humankind to the limits. Being the first country get to Mars could give us political and economical benefits over other countries.
...egular people, believing that if someone was to go to Mars they might have been able to survive A variety of organic compounds present may mean a life is probable. Also, if the trip to Mars in 2023 turns out to be a positive one, then it will prove to everyone that in the future more and more people will move to this other planet. A lot of people will find it unnecessary to stay on Earth if they can start a new life somewhere else in the galaxy. Even though the trip will have America paying billions and billions of dollars, it truly is worth it. A life on Mars could mean living to an older age and being healthier. The point of going to the Red Planet is to find out if there is a better life somewhere other than on Earth. Just like NASA astronaut, Buzz Aldrin said, humans will most likely reach Mars and when they do humans will turn into a two-planet species.
Mars is our next best hope in life on another planet. Because of science mankind can grow and harvest plants in the modified mars soil, make a thick warm atmosphere, and drink no frozen mars water. Mankind can grow and flourish more as a species with this idea of colonizing mars. With more scientific advancements we can colonize mars and we will colonize mars.
Some of the high points among NASA’s future plans are, landing humans on MARS in the 2030s, they are also developing a Space Launch System which is an advanced heavy lift rocket and they plan on extensive usage of the resources available on the International Space Station to improve the range of the scientific research. The biggest objective of NASA in the coming years would be to make space travel safer and easier so that the dream of having a habitat away from earth would be a reality.
To get more clues as to whether we could ever colonize there? Or other planets? Will we go to space in search of natural resources? We need NASA to be in control of our space travel. We need them to travel to space and explore it.
We are drawn to the unknown. The thought of space exploration excites us; we could discover a whole new world at the tip of our fingers. But is it worth the resources and time? It is evident that a handful of individuals do not agree with funding the exploration of other planets when we can hardly maintain our own, but others argue that NASA (Source B) and other scientific organizations dedicated to extraterrestrial studies provide us with invaluable information that could lead to new discoveries or technologies. While both sides pose reasonable thoughts, we must consider the cost and time required of the program and how it can truly benefit our own planet as a whole.
Many answers can come from exploring space. Getting a “few lumps of moon rock” can answer so many questions we asked ourselves for millennia. Can we truly belong in a place we do not know about? Space exploration will better us now and in the future for several reasons. The idea of travelling into the unknown has puzzled life since it could move.
There are many reasons that space exploration should continue. If Earth ever becomes too overpopulated or over polluted, then perhaps people can move to Mars. The world population in 1970 was approximately 4 billion people, and is currently nearly 6 billion people. The world population in 2015 is estimated to be 7 billion people. There is a possibility that there are useful resources on Mars. Scientists have found ice and some other clues, such as craters, volcanoes, and valleys, that have led them to believe that there was once life on Mars, and they believe that sometime in the future, should planet Earth need to be evacuated, humans will be able to live there (Jakosky 142). Many of the rocks on Mars appear to have been formed by gasses, breathable by humans and other creatures. A process called terraforming will allow astronauts to make use of the resources that are on the planet and create an atmosphere that will support life. One method for terraforming is that scientists would convert the gaseous rocks back into gasses, and use gas-eating organisms to eat the gas, which results in the formation of other gasses. If these organisms continue the cycle, then Mars would have a stable atmosphere for humans to live in (Getz 39).
With a field as large as space is, metaphorically and literally, there is no end to all the advantages that can come of exploring the magnificent cosmos. One of the major questions we face currently is the possibility of life on other planets. “NASA's biggest ambition is the hunt for life and a habitat that can support life. Several planned or prepared missions will specifically explore the question of whether or not life exists, or once existed, elsewhere in out solar system” (Folger 3). That's exactly what we plan on using the Curiosity rover for. The MSL (Mars Space Laboratory) Curiosity rover was launched November 26th, 2011 and landed on Mars on August 6th, 2012 (Launch 2). “MSL Curiosity's mission is to analyze the climate, geology, and habitability of Mars to see if there is or has ever been life on Mars. Then, after gathering enough data, it will see if it's feasible to send a manned mission to Mars” (Anthony 2). We are already searching ...
“Our understanding of the Earth has increased due to space exploration. Scientists are able to study the Earth's atmosphere from space and understand the changes in climate and their effects on the life on Earth. A proof space travel is that it is possible to observe our planet from a distance” Explains UniverSavvy. “Changes in the environment, and issues like global warming and ozone depletion can be studied. Space exploration has helped answer questions like how the Earth was formed.” Space research will help us understand the Earth we live on. Without space research, we wouldn’t know about the ozone layer and we would be in serious trouble. Also, we can see our planet from a far away so we can see if hurricanes or other natural disasters are coming. Space exploration has also figured out where a lot of our natural resources come from.
