Mission Paper
Space exploration is the investigation of the universe that is beyond Earth’s atmosphere and these discoveries and information gained can increase our understanding of the universe and can benefit humanity into a better future. This research will not only help us expand our knowledge but, it can help us wonder whether or not extraterrestrial life can exist. These series of missions are necessary for our well being to understand and adapt to what it would be like if we were to live in outer space. As years went by, space exploration was very expensive to finance and it can be dangerous for astronauts going to space. They’ve decided to launch rovers to outer space because one, it is cost efficient meaning sending rovers to space is much cheaper than sending people to space and two, time efficient as well. Our mission is to explore Mars and learn about its

The reason would be because he/she would be the one who will have the most experience in space flight exploration, they would know how to handle different situation since they know or experienced it, and that most important part of all, they are trustworthy when it comes to these missions. Some people don’t realize the responsibilities as a leader of the operation and if things aren’t done right, the mission can become a failure. In order for the leader and their fellow partners can only succeed by following the plan out of the mission, that way everyone will know what to do and if something goes wrong, backup plans can be applied. From the book “Martian Summers”, the people who were coordinating the lander were having a hard time deciding what to do and the reason being was that lack of organization and no leadership was shown among each other. This shows that without proper organization and lack of leadership can cause a whole lot of problems like confusion on who does what and lack of
Where is A Mission? The thought had always lingered inside of my head, aimlessly suspended like a climber stuck in an awkward position. Debating whether to reach for the next gap or to give out and abandon the idea. I had always dreamed of going on a mission trip, unfortunately my actions didn’t concede to the idea as easily as I imagined. Each time I was given the opportunity to go, I would push it back further and further by using a different excuse to cover my hesitation.
Specific Purpose Statement: I would like to inform and condense the topic of space exploration into two major branches. These branches are unmanned and manned spaceflight.
This Interview was with Eddy the Eco-Dog and Julie Payette on Kidswebtv and they discussed about astronauts role in space and why we explore space and Julie Payette said that we explore in order to gain knowledge and understanding of our place in this solar system and this universe.18 (see Appendix D for the actual
Mission, Vision, and Values Paper. Introduction I am considering the company I work for Lockheed Martin to develop a modified strategic plan that will focus on responding to the United States government's and Department of Defense's (DoD) new "Network Centricâ initiatives. Lockheed Martin's Corp. is a publicly traded private corporation that provides high technology products and services to the United States government, DoD, and other international governments. Lockheed Martin is the largest defense contractor in the US with a branding statement "Our brand means qualityâ and a company slogan of "We never forget who we work forâ.
Mars is our next best hope in life on another planet. Because of science mankind can grow and harvest plants in the modified mars soil, make a thick warm atmosphere, and drink no frozen mars water. Mankind can grow and flourish more as a species with this idea of colonizing mars. With more scientific advancements we can colonize mars and we will colonize mars.

Space exploration is a significant part of today’s culture because it is improving our knowledge of what's beyond our atmosphere. It is important to consider the cost of space exploration, the risks, and how the world takes care of Earth. Overall, this issue requires society to consider the financial and ethical consequences that exploration has.
To understand and appreciate why space exploration should be continued, its achievements must be revealed. The science behind space exploration impacts so much more than one might have originally assumed. According to Kristen Kumar, “Important technology areas that have been impacted by space exploration research include; human health, space power and energy storage, life support and communication and navigation” (Kumar, 2011, p. 195). All of the things listed above have been the focus of the space program, and the results produced have been significant technological advances. Some of the most beneficial innovations have been a direct result of space exploration research, enhancing human life, society and the economy. The importance of Space Exploration has been often overlooked and undermined, but that does not change what it has done for the wo...
When considering this topic, one might ask themselves why explore space? We explore space to compare other planets with the earth and to study the sun, to explore the universe while finding if intelligent life exists, for satellites to improve communications, weather forecasting, navigation, resource monitoring, and “to create a focal point for a new intellectual renaissance” (Ruzic).
As such, this essay will argue that space exploration is a necessity of our kind and that NASA should be progressively more financed. To begin with, space research has helped bring several developments to modern science, affecting the quality of our everyday lives. With issues like climate change, and population overgrowth, our species faces the risks of major extinction (4). Climate change has been a man-made problem in recent years that threatens our planet. It will take huge mitigations from current and future societies to even come close to reversing climate change.
The recent events regarding the NASA Mars probes have renewed the debate of reinstalling manned space missions with the objectives of exploring and landing on foreign worlds such as the moon and the red planet Mars, rather than the use of solely robotic craft and machines. It is my belief that we should return to the days of Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin, those of manned lunar landings and manned space exploration. Robots simply cannot and should not be allowed to be the sole means of visiting these worlds, nor should humans only be able to witness new findings second hand through the use of computers and machines. It is human nature to be normally curious of one’s surroundings, and it is important that we send one of our own to new worlds. The effects that past missions have had on the world’s people, as well as our political and cultural climates are another valid reason for flesh instead of metal to lay claim to space. Also, the limitless applications and new education that manned flights can bring to us from on site human interactions could lead to another technological and industrial revolution like the original lunar programs had done for us during the Gemini and Apollo programs.

“Why should we go into space? What is the justification for spending all the effort and money on getting a few lumps of moon rocks? Aren’t there better causes here on Earth?”- Stephen Hawking. Space is the everlasting, ever growing place where we happen to reside. From the beginning of intelligent life here on Earth, we have wanted to learn. Whether it be simply constructing a fire, or solving the riddles that still puzzle us to this day. Many of the questions we still have are pertaining to space. Are we alone? How did we get here? Where are we going? Many answers can come from exploring space. Getting a “few lumps of moon rock” can answer so many questions we asked ourselves for millennia. Can we truly belong in a place we do not know about? Space exploration will better us now and in the future for several reasons.
Most people think that the costly downside to funding space exploration is a reason to avoid spending money on sciences and instead spend it on problems here on earth, but such funding for space exploration actually promotes economical as well as scientific benefits. Space exploration is an important expenditure for the high cost because of the potential for numerous benefits such as the possibility to find useful resources to cultivate, space exploration and satellites produce many thousands of jobs in our economy, and it creates and discovers newer and better technologies through research and development.
Some may think exploring outer space is simply a human’s curiosity. This is true but on the contrary, people explore to learn about things they may have never known and touch on the essence of the creation of the universe. Another reason for exploring this uncharted area is the technological advancements people have made and immense amount of innovation they have achieved in this field (Wood). Lastly, scientists study the other planets just in case one day humans need to relocate after overwhelming damage has been done to Earth. Suffice to say, it is a vital part of today’s day and age to research outer space (Rothery).
