Many people around the world consider the LGBT population as something immoral because of the beliefs thousands of years ago, that two individuals of the same sex cannot be together. It came to the conclusion that only a man and woman could be a couple because they can procreate or reproduce, meaning that they are the one that can have a child and continue to expand the population. This is a controversial topic in our society because everybody has a different point of view and not everybody agrees with the situation of homosexuals in our society. Some social institutions such as religions, school, and government are against the gay population. Homosexuality was once considered to be a mental illness it wasn’t into 1973 that homosexuality was taken out the DSM (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders), this cause majority of people to be homophobic and not accept that their homosexual child, so this created a difficult relationship between parent and child.
We have to accept everyone the way they are because it is their life and if we do not accept them they will struggle a lot in the society. Some homosexuals get attack in the street, and people treat them as if they were outsiders, hurt them mentally, …show more content…
