In the 20s and 30s, many states banned citizens to convey weapons without a license leaving the decision to the proper authorities because not everyone is allowed to carry one. In result, people started carrying hidden guns which has a direct effect on the increase of violent- crime rate. If weapons were not so easy to get then homicide and suicide rate will decrease! There is a strong relation between guns and suicide death rate because while using a gun, you won’t probably get a second chance to think clearly about the step you’re about to take. The gun method allows death to be much easier and quicker than any other method. Emery, A (2013) claims “If guns are available people will use them”. People get pissed off when you shoot them, when you are not trained and shot you will get furious plus lose focus so you’d might end up shooting yourself again, this actually happens even with cops everyone makes mistakes so that’s why training takes higher importance, getting weapons is really easy but being well trained is not. If it’s worth doing then it’s worth doing well! Not all the owners expect to use their guns they keep it hidden but whether they attempted to use it or not, they could end up in trouble with consequences that might be fatal because some situations get out of the hand and they are more likely to use it with instinct without being aware from the consequences of their rushing actions. With more power come more responsibilities! People with lack of common sense, it’s impossible for them to understand these responsibilities. Carrying a gun means that they are carrying the power of death or life and that includes a lot of responsibilities such as being extremely careful and smart to avoid social conflicts that could get serious. During conflicts they are in a violent confrontation, by carrying a gun, they are introducing a new deadly force to
First off most citizens do not have any training on how to carry or shoot a gun. This can result in someone being hurt or killed on accident. Secondly a citizen carrying a gun could result in a murder of another citizen over an argument over something. For example in 2014 a retired police officer shot and killed another man over an argument text messaging in a movie theater. Thirdly this gives criminals access to carry a gun and commit a crime wherever they may go. Fourthly a citizen that can carry a gun wherever will also encourage a criminal to carry a gun to counteract the citizen who with the gun. The Inter –university Consortium for Political and Social Research did a survey and found that 75% of criminals carry a gun because they are afraid that the victim has a gun. Fifthly people who do not believe in carrying a gun will be most vulnerable. Say for example an unarmed citizen is in a bar full of other citizens that are armed. If an argument were to start between them and everyone pulled out their weapons on each other than the unarmed citizen would be most vulnerable. Lastly all citizens have different viewpoints on just about everything. With different viewpoints a citizen who is armed could try to us their gun to solve any problems that person may
Firearm owners can be criticized due to constant misunderstandings for owning guns. Many Americans may see firearm owners as someone who can hurt and kill people. As a firearm seen as an object that may cause harm to an individual, people feel terrorized when living next to an owner of of a gun. Citizens of the United States believe the cause of many violent deaths throughout the country are because of gun ownerships eligibility to all citizens and no guarantee of complete safe responsibility of the individual. People fear the lack of safety precautions and little knowledge of owning a gun will create an occurrence of accidents. People believe troops and law enforcement are the only ones to be in charge of a gun because they
First of all, critics argue that owning a gun can defend themselves from villains. The idea is that, if someone breaks into your house or assaults you on the street, you will be able to protect yourself by shooting them. This argument is relevant to the case. However, the argument by the opponents is weak because owning a gun makes us much more likely to get shot. According to the epidemiologists at University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine (2009), in a first-of its-kind study, they discovered that, on average, guns did not protect those who possessed them from being shot in an assault....
This is caused because the more guns there, are the less violence there is. Dangerous criminals will think twice about robbing someone that has a gun. A victim with a gun is no longer a victim because they can not fight back against the attacker. Therefore, they can save their lives and save lives of the public which need help at that moment. Lott states, “The estimated annual gain from 1992 from allowing concealed handguns was over $5.74 billion” (House Report). This states that when a decline in violence goes down the amount of money goes up. Concealed guns can only benefit everyone in multiple ways. Concealed weapons can help create the feeling of safety and reduce violence. No one wants to live in
If there are restrictions on the gun ownership laws, and also a restriction in use, then these are crimes would reduce significantly, and there would be fewer reports of suicides and homicides in America. No other country in the world has such high rates of gun ownership as the United States. It is the use of these guns that has been associated with the constant reports of homicides, and the same guns are used to commit suicides. Clearly, if there is a reduction in the private ownership of guns, then it becomes possible to drastically reduce the violence resulting from the accessibility of
I want to prevent would-be killers from having access to weapons of war. I want to stop them from teaching themselves to kill through video games. I want mental-health services to be more easily obtained. And I want to deny murderers the notoriety they seek. Our leaders must attack the entire problem--and if they do, I believe my fellow gun owners will have their back.(P. 10)
Gun control is an awfully big issue in the United States today. Many people in America don’t agree with the gun control laws that they have today. Gun control laws only take guns and freedom away from law-abiding citizens. Many citizens have their own reasons for owning a gun. Why would the government want to make it harder for people to own a gun? People that own guns aren’t very likely to be attacked by criminals. Owning a handgun is one of the best ways of protection when used correctly. The second amendment states “the right to bear arms”; does this grant everyone the right to own a gun? Gun control laws have not been proven to do anything for citizens. Gun control laws just make it harder for the good guy average Joe to own a gun. Gun control laws are not a good idea, and are taking part in the loss of our freedom that was given to us.
There are billions of guns in the world and currently, more are in the process of being manufactured, and these products will soon be on the market, at this rate, it is impossible to imagine the world without guns. Humans have evolved and adapted to many changes in their life, perhaps it is time to adapt or simply learn to live the way the word it is right now or perhaps we have to fight to make the world a better place. Guns take a big place in our society and a study made by the Small Arms Society showed that “There are 875 million guns around the world and civilians own about 650 million out of all the guns in the world” (Karp) The statistics show that civilians own the majority of the guns, therefore, there is a need to address the subject
Violence across the nation has become an overwhelming, terrifying problem. One rising issue within the nation today is violent video games. Video games that show acts of violence can take a toll on those who play it and encourage those same acts inside of their everyday life. However, another issue that does not only affect the people involved and an entire community, but the whole country is gun violence. In Rebecca J. Rosen’s article “Violence is Contagious”, she compares violence to a disease, as it spreads quickly and infects humans of the nation. Violent video games and gun violence are directly related with each other.
Guns are dangerous. They are supposed to be used for protection, but the reality has been repeatedly proven and there is always someone that is depressed, is having

In an interview with John R. Lott, Jr., Lott stated that “States with the largest increase in gun ownership also have the largest drops in violent crimes. ”(Lott). Most criminals act upon the belief that their target is unarmed and unprepared. If the public would learn to familiarize themselves with firearms and safety procedures that can make carrying a lethal weapon safe, then it would make people much more comfortable with them. In order to carry a concealed handgun, people should be required to take a gun safety class or test, and also have to have a clean criminal record.
The United States has more guns than any other country in the world. You could legally own a gun in America before you could legally drink alcohol. Guns make people feel safe and protect but if they land in the wrong hands, there could be heavy consequences. The simplest form to put an end to gun violence is with firearm regulation laws. Implementing gun control laws(firearm regulation laws), such as background checks, waiting periods, raise minimum age, can lower gun violence and the amount of gun related deaths in America.
Guns bring a sense of security to the owner, and also be a form of self defense. Some people may buy a gun, and never even use it, but because they have it they feel more safe. Most of the time when a person feels safe they are less likey to make a rash decision and mishandle the situation when it comes to
Even I have not been living long, I’ve heard of a lot of news about tragic shooting. and I have heard of Every time when shooting incident occurs, gun control arguments has been raised again and again. But they never concluded to advanced regulation of gun. If incidents related to gun in Japan, the congress would pass the law about regulation of gun immediately. I would like to see about the argument.
