Argumentative Essay On Aliens

Legends and artifacts dating back thousands of years have ignited our imagination of extraterrestrial life. Our recent discovery of space also led us to believe that the Universe can be absolutely full with life, especially when there are an estimated 100 billion galaxies in our Universe. So why are extraterrestrials not communicating with us? Within the last few years, some scientists are trying to answer it from a scientific and rational perspective. In 1977, radio astronomer Jerry Ehman’s discovery of a powerful radio signal from outer space bought hopes to many astronomers. Named the "Wow! signal", it emanated briefly from a single point in the sky and lasted for the full 72 seconds. Also NASA’s recent discovery of liquid water …show more content…

This is why some scientist and historian found it more appealing to look back to our history for any valuable trace of Alien. They believe super-intelligent life have already visited Earth, but before we were here. Among them “The Piri Reis Map” and “The Nazca Lines” are two strongest clues to solve the alien mystery. Piri Reis, an admiral of the Turkish fleet in 1513 made a map from a large number of source maps, some dated back to the 4th B.C. His perfectly detailed map shows the western coast of Africa, the eastern coast of South America, and the northern coast of Antarctica three hundred years before it was discovered. The most puzzling however is, his map shows the Antarctica before covered by the ice. In Peru, “The Nazca Lines” are some strange shapes in the desert measuring 37 miles long and 1 mile wide. Most of these shape is like supernatural beings, trophy heads and geometric designs such as trapezoids, lines and triangles. Created by an ancient civilization between 200 B.C. and 600 A.D. these mysterious shapes discovered in the 1920s by a passenger’s plane from above. We only learn how to fly in the Early 20th …show more content…

Compare to them our Milky Way is much younger. Again, compare to other solar system in our galaxy, our Sun is much younger among them. So it is theorized that the intelligent life here on earth is in its very first stage in the Universal scale. If there is life beyond Earth than it is highly probable that most of them are more scientifically and technologically advanced than us. A civilization only thousand years ahead of us must have the technology for inter-stellar travel. They would probably have mastered the knowledge to harness energy from their host star by building numerous mega structures on the space and even colonizing the entire galaxy. So why have not we already found one of them yet? Some scientist believes, they already evolved in a stage which might lie beyond our communications horizon, meaning we do not have the technology to communicate with them. It is not before 1990 we learned how to set the telescope in outer space. Telescope in orbit has the advantage of detecting wavelengths such as radio and millimeter waves, infrared, ultraviolet, x rays, and gamma rays which before absorbed by the atmosphere and was not detectable by ground-based telescopes. Searching for extraterrestrial life into the deeper in our galaxy we must need to send a telescope outside of our solar system. We still need another century or so to fully develop the genetic
