In the argument happiness is a state, Aristotle argues that happiness is not a thing that is achieved or experienced at a moment as a feeling but he says that it’s a way of life. He asserts that it is the practice of the virtue in a person’s life that accounts to their overall happiness. One cannot live a life doing the wrong things and expect to be happy. However, although it is true that happiness should not based on the feeling of pleasure alone, this does not imply that man should not allow himself to be overwhelmed by the state of feeling happy (emotion even when he has done the right thing. It is wrong to indulge in wrong activities as a way of seeking happiness. However, this does not means that man is refrained from enjoying his great achievements after leading a good life. As such, happiness encompasses several things and defining it as just an activity is an over generalization of things.
