What if you were sitting on a bench with your friend and you’re just about to find out if you made the basketball team. Your coach comes to tell you that you made the team! You are really happy and ecstatic! But then you hear the coach tell your friend that they didn't make the team. She’s crushed and starts to cry. Are sports tryouts necessary? Sports tryouts are necessary because it shows kids how to be fair. Also it encourages kids to work harder and practice more so they can tryout next year or be a great player. But if kids do make the team it makes kids excited and want to train harder to be the best. To add on if coaches keep every kid who tries out then the team would be overcrowded with kids and not everyone will play. The tryout is similar to warfare in a sense where it is every man for himself. If one person cannot keep up it will not limit the rest of the competitors to slow down. If you are falling behind you will get passed by everyone competing. It is very harsh and you need to be talented to make the team, likewise to how you need to be strong to survive in war. The only reason some athletes make it to college is due to scholarships for their performance on the field. If they don’t perform well on the field, that scholarship might get cut. This makes practicing the athletes a main priority. However, college athletes have to concentrate on their grades so they don’t drop out of college. These athletes know they may not make it to the pro’s, so they know they have to have a back-up plan.
A common denominator that successful people share is the involvement of playing a varsity sport in high school. Every high school in the United States is different, however all encourage students to get involved. Most commonly, students decide to join sports. High school sports can cause profitable effects because students live healthier lives, achieve higher grades and learn life lessons.

Some schools think sports cost too much money, but being a student is harder than ever. You are being held to tougher academic standards-and so is your school and that's why it is more important than ever for schools to keep sports because private and club sports are too expensive for most families and sport programs in school can affect and improve academic skills.
College is a time for young people to develop and grow not only in their education, but social aspects as well. One of the biggest social scenes found around college campuses are athletic events, but where would these college sports be without their dedicated athletes? Student athletes get a lot of praise for their achievements on the field, but tend to disregard the work they accomplish in the classroom. Living in a college environment as a student athlete has a great deal of advantages as well as disadvantages that affect education and anti-intellectualism.

There are two types of players in the game. There are the kids who play basketball because they are athletic, and all they are seeking to gain is the recognition and awards. They want to be known. Those players are self-centered, they do not play for the team, and generally don’t play because they love the game. These are the types of players who don’t usually go on to play at the next level. On the other hand, there are the players that absolutely dedicate their life to the game of basketball just because they love the game. That is what coaches are looking for in a player, and that is the kind of player I am striving to be.
Some schools force students to participate in organized school sports. However, I believe that schools should not make this a requirement. Some students may have medical conditions, family situations that don't allow them to participate in organized school sports, or they simply may not have the time.
Being a college athlete is very tiring. College athletes have to endure a ton of things. From six AM practices, to midnight study sessions, being a college athlete is hard. To be a college athlete, the athlete has to be prepared to get used to getting little to no sleep. With early morning practices, class and then studying, with possibly a lifting session, a college athlete needs to be prepared to be pushed not only physically, but also mentally. To be a college athlete it takes a lot of mental toughness. A college athlete has to find it in them to do whatever it takes to study for all of their classes, meaning staying up until necessary, and then waking up the next morning to get up and practice. This is one of the hardest things for college athletes. Mental toughness is a whole other level when it involves sleep. Where one would say, “No. It is fine. I will just wing the test. I am too tired to study.” Or, “I will just study in the morning.” Athletes have to be prepared to break mental boundaries and drive themselves to success. Within each family, children may receive a psychological influence while participating in sports. Either if the child feels as if they aren’t good enough, or even either pressured into playing a sport, the child may have a sense of anticipation. Parents may even cause their children to lose the love for the sport they once enjoyed participating in. Believe it or not, this happens within a multiple amount of families all over the world. Whether playing the sports runs within the family, or even if the child is pressured into being a prodigy, family issues may develop. Being on a team teaches teamwork, discipline, and sacrifice. Parents influencing their child to play for the reason that they played it, may cancel three of those out. It’s more than just playing the sport. Whether you’re running up and down of a field playing soccer, or even hitting a tennis ball across the court, it’s important that you love what you’re doing.

It gives students activities excluding school work, because teenagers generally focus their mind on unacceptable actions. Parents commonly show passion along with appreciation when their child/children play a sport. They get to have a closer relationship and be elaborate with them more often than normal. Frequently, students do not care about their reputation or acknowledge the adults’ opinions on themselves; but in my opinion, playing sports and being mostly involved with their schools presents an improved character while in school and once they graduate.
