The FAA has produced NPRM notice 15-07; to redefine the rules regarding temporary flight restrictions for launch, reentry, and amateur rocket operations in accordance with 14 CFR 91.143. The primary purpose of the proposed rule will be to expand the temporary flight restrictions for launch operations to all aircraft, including non-U.S. registered aircraft. The FAA will also revise language for consistency with other temporary flight restrictions pertaining to commercial space regulations and definitions (FAA, DOT, 2015). This rule once enacted would enhance safety in the affected airspace, and make the temporary flight restrictions easier to understand This area of the FAA is growing very quickly, with the privatization of space travel, …show more content…
When I fly, I typically fly out of KTIX (Space Coast Regional Airport) or KCOI (Merritt Island Airport), both are within 12 nautical miles of KTTS (NASA Shuttle Landing Facility). With being so close to KSC, I have to pay special attention to NOTAMs, restricted airspace, and temporary flight restrictions. When reading NOTAM and flight restrictions, a pilot has to pay special attention to the language, since until this became an active rule, different organization had different terminology for space …show more content…
What is missing is what guidelines will be used to set reasonable and proper temporary flight restrictions? How and when will these restrictions be presented, and how will it affect commercial travel. What is the time restrictions associated with a temporary flight restriction? At this point in time, there are several "temporary" flight restrictions that have been in place for years. What are the boundaries and how will they be set, if the boundaries are violated what are the consequences and fines? How will disciplinary actions be enforced on a foreign

The Change in Airport Security from 9/11 The terrorist attacks on September 11, 2011 prompted the world to reevaluate and drastically modify airport and airline security. “Four targets had been chosen, all iconic American buildings that would send a clear message of the depth of their hatred for the United States. All four planes crashed, killing all on board—terrorists, crew members, and passengers, along with hundreds who were killed inside the structures, on the ground, and the men and women who ran into collapsing buildings in an effort to try and save others” (Smutz 1). As Jason Villemez said “the decade after the 9/11 attacks reshaped many facets of life in America” (Villemez 1). Before the attacks, people did not think that large scale hostility towards innocent people in our country was remotely possible.
Lexis is referred to as terminology that is used by only members of the community for intercommunication that outsiders of the community would not comprehend. “Serve it”, “Hold It”, “HBO”, “WOW”, and “Working” are some of the terminology that we use at the McDonald’s that I work at. The first phrase “Serve it”, is used to serve off the orders on the screen in drive thru. There is a timer that keeps up with how long it takes to have the order ready from the time the order is cashed out until the customer makes it to the second window. You tend to hear the runner who is bagging the orders for the person in the drive thru window yell to “Serve it”. “Hold it”, the second phrase is when the order at the window is not ready yet or something for that order is in the process of cooking. We tend to tell them to pull around and park in a reserved spot that is only for drive thru. “HBO”, is yelled by the person presenting the order at the second window in drive thru. HBO means when an order is ready before the customer makes it to the second window. “WOW” is when a customer brings back an order that is either messed up, or wrong. Last but not least, “Working” is used by the people on the grill. When the people in the front call out something their waiting on to the grill people they tend to say “working”, which means it is in

“What time should we leave? Two hours in advance? Three? Four?” Millions of people ask these questions each year before boarding a plane. Between driving, security, walking to the gate, and getting settled, boarding a plane exhausts travelers. But out of all of these different activities, one frustrates and restrains travelers the most: TSA security. People ask why they need all this security, complain about the inconvenience it causes, and ultimately annoys people to no end. Created after 9/11, Transportation Security Administration, or TSA, nationalized airport security, increased screening duration, and supposedly increases security on flights. However, statistics say these added security measures never come to fruition and potentially cost more lives than they save.
On October 24, 1978, President Carter signed into law the Airline Deregulation Act. The purpose of the law was to effectively get the federal government out of the airline business. By allowing the airlines to compete for their customers' travel dollars, was the thinking, that fares would drop and an increased number of routes would spring up.
On February 12, 2009, a Colgan Airlines flight operating as Continental Connection Flight 3407 crashed two miles from the runway in Buffalo, New York, killing all fifty people aboard.. The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) investigation that followed stunned the American public and identified the need to closely examine the regulations governing pilot training and pilot rest requirements, with a strong focus on regional airlines (Berard, 2010, 2). Currently, the United States government has passed HR 5900, which was titled the Airline Safety and Federal Aviation Administration Extension Act of 2010 and is now called Public Law 111-216 (Public Law 111-126, 2010, 3). The bill targets five focal points that will force the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to run an even safer operation. These focal points include creating a pilot record database, implementation of NTSB flight crewmember training recommendations, FAA rule making on training programs, pilot fatigue, and flight crewmember screening and qualifications (Berard, 2010, 4).

The federal policy question I will be researching is In what ways can the Temporary Protected Status act of 1990 be reformed ?Temporary protected status also known as TPS was granted by congress as part of the Immigration Act of 1990 to eligible nationals of selected countries in 1990. The attorney general establishes on which country is eligible for TPS. Generally, Temporary Protected Status protects citizens who are unable to safely return to their home country because of ongoing armed conflict, environmental disaster or other extraordinary temporary conditions per the USCIS official website .I believe it is important to discuss the failure of the temporary protected status act ,because once an attorney general establishes that a country
This case is a good example of mistrust, the reason why one group of people has come to not trust another group of people. While being a native of Virgin Gorda Island and working for the West Indies Yacht Club Resort, many natives see expatriate workers come and go. Some of the workers are managers, yet most of them are just temporary workers during the high peak seasons like late December through early July. During the times of working together the employees would become friends, and then the expatriate workers would travel back home after the peak season to never return leaving the natives in mistrust of the expatriates. Besides two totally different cultures not trusting each other, this would cause problems and turmoil to an already troubled West Indies Yacht Club Resort.
Our group for the world cafe project consisted of Kip, Ashley and Martell. We came up with the following question to ask the people who attended the World Cafe: Given the recent proposed travel ban, how would this impact American citizens for better or for worse? This question is relevant to almost everyone within the united states, maybe not directly but, there is a reaching effect on all of us.
