Kosovo is a relatively small country, but because of its geographical position and favorable agro-climatic condition it is a very important country for agriculture production. However in agriculture sector fruit respectively apple production with continuing investments can make Kosovo one of the most important countries on the Balkan Peninsula for apple production. Flat valley areas with good soils and also with access to high quality water across the country allow farmers to grow the highest quality fruits.
From the research which I have done with farmers of Kosovo I can conclude that investments in sector of apple production should continue. Increasing the numbers of hectares it is one of the main targets for farmers. Right now farm size are not big scale (according to my research around 80 % of farms of apple production ore 0-5 ha). Small scale orchards do not provide reasonable benefit, so increasing of hectares is a key point.
Another factor, which provides high quality and quantity of fruit, is planting new apple varieties. From my questionnaire, I can conclud...

The rise in Central Asia’s food insecurity is an indirect result of a poor macroeconomic environment (Rhoe et al., 2008). All the five countries of Central Asia are still in the process of transforming agriculture into the past soviet context of market oriented production.
The most important problem faced by Apple is that it incurs high costs of research and development which is crucial for innovation. Moreover this results in premium pricing of its products, thus making them a product for the classes and not for the masses. The fact that several of its competitors come up with similar products at a later stage, and the price of the products is less, this results in them being able to target at the masses and Apple losing an important market share. The modernist analysis indicates that people and other resources at Apple can be pooled to create products which cannot be easily replicated thus helping it maintain the much required uniqueness in case of its products.

...earch and extension, rural infrastructure, and market access for small farmers. Rural investments have been sorely neglected in recent decades, and now is the time to reverse this trend. Farmers in many developing countries are operating in an environment of inadequate infrastructure like roads, electricity, and communications; poor soils; lack of storage and processing capacity; and little or no access to agricultural technologies that could increase their profits and improve their livelihoods. Recent unrest over food prices in a number of countries may tempt policymakers to put the interests of urban consumers over those of rural people, including farmers, but this approach would be shortsighted and counterproductive. Given the scale of investment needed, aid donors should also expand development assistance to agriculture, rural services, and science and technology.
The financial burden of farm operating costs is substantial and many small family farms suffer when years of produce are lean. For example, my grandfather was farmer of Red Delicious apples from about 1957-2007. He did well for many years. A couple of years past when his crop didn 't produce enough because of frost damage, and almost simultaneously, it seems a change in how the apple industry functioned. Farmers were taking out their trees and planting different varieties such as Espalier trees. New assortments of apples hit the market and were gaining
