One of the happiest moments in my life was when I cleared my engineering entrance test, and got an admit at PES Institute of technology for Bachelor’s in Mechanical. Having been part of this institution has given me a strong foundation in Core Mechanical subjects such as Dynamics and Kinematics of Machines, Solid and Fluid Mechanics, Thermodynamics, Manufacturing Sciences and Vibrations.
It was my dream to be a mechanical engineer since the time I experimented with a Simple Pendulum in my high school Physics lab. I was closely acquainted with many subjects, but there are only few which really captivated me. It was during third semester when I learnt that I will be studying fluid mechanics as a core subject, which will be taught by Mr. Padmashree Dr. T S Prahlad, Chair professor in fluid mechanics. His way of teaching fluid mechanics enticed me so much and fostered in me a flair for the subject. I thoroughly enjoyed his lectures from the first to the very last day.
I have streamlined my studies more towards subjects based on the fluid mechanics, which was influential on taking Hydraulics and pneumatic. I preferred Principles of Flight & Jet and Rocket propulsion taught by Mr. Padmashree Dr. T S Prahlad for my electives, which had major application of fluid mechanics and thermodynamics. With persistent Endeavour and dedication, I have excelled in these subjects. I also taught some basic principles of thermodynamics and hydraulics to high school students back at my home town during the summer break. This actually gave me a deeper insight into the subject and a better understanding. It was then that I decided to do a project work based on the application of fluid mechanics.
During my course from first to sixth semesters, I undertook ...

A world-class engineering student, also known as an “expert learner,” is characterized by taking charge of their learning process, being active in their approach to learning, being motivated and disciplined as well as setting specific goals for themself. Becoming a world-class engineering student is a process that takes time and diligence. In order to become a world-class engineering student, I will have to identify where I stand currently in terms of goal setting, community building, academic development and personal development, where a world-class engineering student would be in each of those areas, and what I have to do in order to become a world-class engineering student.
The type of physics that I will be presenting is a branch of Fluid Mechanics. Fluid mechanics studies the physics of gases and liquids.
I am drawn to the teaching style in Penn’s Mechanical Engineering and Applied Mechanics program, which promotes interactive learning. I would be able to understand both the conceptual foundations of engineering, as well as the practical applications of these textbook teachings. Furthermore, by gaining exposure to real-world problems as an undergraduate, I would be better prepared and more confident to face new challenges in the
On a more scientific note I am interested in mechanics of fluids. This interest was enforced last year when I had the opportunity to attend a lecture on fluid mechanics at P&G. At the conference I greatly expanded my knowledge regarding the physical aspect of fluids and their properties. In last year's AS course we have met a topic in this field. I will be applying ideas and knowledge gathered from last year for this investigation.
I'm aware about the potential of beginners are eminent but I feasibly surpass them. The interaction with highbrows in this field from around the globe will broaden my horizons and enhance my adorning traits. I assure to be an forte to ---- and I intend that the Admission Council backpack the same spirit. I would be grateful if I am given the opportunity to pursue my graduate study with financial assistance at your world-renowned
Completing high school education from an illustrious junior college, my academic accomplishments at school earned me admission in Sri Sairam Engineering College, Chennai. Ranked 3rd in the southern region of India by Outlook and The Week, and is affiliated to prestigious Anna University. I am pursuing my bachelors in Production Engineering. I have a commodious curriculum which enunciates on latest manufacturing techniques, production management until my junior year. In my senior year, I have electives like Operation's research, Ergonomics. This opened the gates to the field of Industrial engineering and that moment, I realized that manufacturing alone is not the crux of an Industry but there are many other segments, which have to be given equal importance for the amelioration of the Industry, which made me decide to augment my knowledge to these areas rather than merely focusing on manufacturing.
Possessing the basic knowledge in the field of physical sciences and the intuition in them made me to pick up Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry as my majors for the Higher Secondary Education. After the completion of my secondary education, I felt that engineering was the only field which can transform and transfer my dreams in the field of sciences into a real one and also it would give me an opportunity to learn and explore how the fundamentals of science are appl...
I am applying for a Masters in Mechanical Engineering with a concentration in Solid Mechanics to expand on my study of and experience with materials. I have thoroughly enjoyed studying Materials Science and Engineering as an undergraduate at UCLA. I now look forward to moving into graduate study in a field of engineering with a related, but different perspective. Materials Science and Engineering has allowed me to explore both materials and other fields within engineering, contributing to my strong interest in combining my study of Materials Science and Engineering with Mechanical Engineering. A versatile individual and an ardent learner in all my chosen fields is how I perceive myself today. My childhood provided me a strong base of integrity and honesty upon which I have built a diverse skill set and a strong commitment to success. I opted for civil engineering as my undergraduate major at G.B. Pant University of Agriculture & Technology, Pantnagar, where my knowledge was enhanced by studying courses on Transportation Engineering and thus my liking for this field become much stronger. During second year of under graduation I went for training in Public Works Department, where I had a practical experience about pavement design and construction.
An ambition to learn and grow and having passion for engineering have prompted me to go in for graduate studies. Chasing my Dreams! While growing up at a young age I was always intrigued by objects that produced mechanical work and energy be it prime movers such as automobiles, construction and mining equipment, turbo machinery such as jet engines, space shuttles or complex mechanisms of mechanical watches, I used to spend a lot of time trying to learn and figure out their basis and propositions, it was necessary for me to explore my inner conscience to understand my fascination towards machines and their ingenuity, Mechanical engineering seemed a direct consequence of my convictions. I have always admired my father as a civil engineer and his hard work and struggles throughout his life; He has always been a role model for me. He motivated me to pursue my dreams so I decided to pursue my undergraduate study in Mechanical Engineering
Mechanical engineering is a type of engineering which applies principles of physics and material science for the purpose of analyzing, designing, manufacturing and maintaining of mechanical systems (Gorp, 2005). It is involved with the production and usage of mechanical power in the operation of various machines and tools. Mechanical engineering is considered to be the most diverse engineering and has its breadth derived from the need to design tools and manufacture products which range from small individual parts to large systems. Mechanical engineering, as thought of by scholars, is related to Aerospace engineering, Manufacturing and Mechanical engineering (Van et al, 2011).
It has taken a very long time for me to decide on the path that I wanted to take for my career. I have almost always known that I wanted to be an engineer. I was always more interested in applying my knowledge to solve problems rather than just research and understand the world. However, I had little to no inkling as to which field of engineering I wanted to go in to. I had always been a dabbler, involving myself in a large variety of activities with the interest of learning about how stuff works. I started out learning how to use the tools in the shed outback, making pinewood derby cars and model rockets. I would help my dad with home improvement and repair projects around the house. As time went on, my ability learns and apply
At this stage of my life, I have many ambitions, the first step of which is to carry out my Masters studies in Automotive Engineering. Attending U.K. universities is surely a dream for distinguished students all over the world, especially the ones who are passionate about education. Secondly and a more subtle reason being acquiring a degree that has global recognition has become a necessity if one desires to carve out a niche for oneself in this increasingly global economy. Given a chance I shall prove my worthiness.
