We are turning a blind eye to the misery of these animals by continuing to remove ourselves from the reality of their suffering. Today, the majority of the cosmetic products that hit the market aren't tested on animals, but various experiments are still conducted on unwilling creatures. Unfortunately, researchers have found many gruesome experiments that risk or even kill the animals in question. Those animals are submitted to inhumane experiments in order to make people more appealing. Forgetting that they can also feel and comprehend what pain feels like. Animal experimentation results in millions of animals being mistreated or sacrifice in an attempt to discover remedies, as well as, inconsequential research for cosmetic purposes. However, …show more content…

For example, according to the National Institutes of Health,“waste from their animal testing facilities totaled 1.5 million pounds from 2011 to 2013. In another case, a major pharmaceutical lab was responsible for producing almost 15 tons of animal waste in just one year (National Institutes of Health (NIH).” As a result, animal testing facilities are creating an enormous amount of biological waste that is hurting the environment more than it’s help it. Jai Shroff acknowledges that animal experimentation cause serious biohazards such as, “The disposal process poses potentially dangerous exposure to biohazards, including radioactive materials.” Due to the exposure of such dangerous hazards animal testing is not recommended. Consequently, The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) states that millions of animals have been killed intoxic test resulting in more harm than good because all of the animals have to be disposed of in some way (EPA). Moreover, in a study conducted by the People for reason in Science and Medicine it was prove that dosage experimentation continues to affect animals after death. They claim that animals are given dosage such as the, The Lethal Dose (LD50) and killed with in minutes to then just disposed of the bodies in careless manners. As much as the environment and animals are being affected the law still doesn’t do anything to protect them from …show more content…

Dr. Akhtar, M.D., M.P.H., in neurologist and preventive medicine asserts that stress-related laboratory procedures and environment change can have a significant effect on the test results of any creatures (Akhtar, Aysha). Therefore, experiments can be completely off because of the change in factor in the animals resulting bad test results. In an article by the Journal of the Royal Society of Medicine they affirm that, “Most experiments on animals are not relevant to human health, they do not contribute meaningfully to medical advances, and many are undertaken simply out of curiosity and do not even pretend to hold promise for curing illnesses.” In other words, animals testing isn’t necessary because it doesn’t contribute to medical advancement. Furthermore, Doctor Aysha Akhtar, alleged that 90 percent of clinical trials that are effective on animals are ineffective or unsafe on humans (Alternatives to Animal Use in Research).” According to Todd Preuss, an anthropologist at the Yerkes National Primate Research Center at Emory University, “Rats and humans have been on their own evolutionary paths for tens of millions of years. We've developed our own unique features, and so have the rodents. So it should come as no surprise that a drug that works in a mouse often doesn't work in a person (Harris, Richard).” The continuation of animal testing cloud
