In this post, I will be expanding on a song that came out in 2021 called “Buy Dirt” by Jordan Davis and Luke Brian. A meaningful song with many things to talk about and breakdown. To start off, I will be breaking down the lyrics of this song. This song has many powerful lyrics that play a huge part in the message. This song also has many literary devices that contribute to it, but three of them make a bigger impact. So, secondly, I will be discussing those three important literary devices. Lastly, I will inform you of the main message of this song. A message that you will always take with you in life. Throughout the song “Buy Dirt" (DDavis & Brain, 3:44), there are many lyrics that play a huge part in the song and make it more meaningful. To start off, let's talk about the lyrics, “Send your prayers up, and you root down deep” (Davis & Brian, …show more content…
I think that there is a very straightforward meaning. The meaning of that is that you need to protect the people you love and never let go of them. You should always know the meaningful people in your life, and you need to hold them close because you never know when you will need them, and it's hard to find people who truly care about you. When I heard these lyrics, it made me look back at all the important people in my life. People like my friends and family. Without my friends, school would definitely not be the same. I can always count on them to be there for me. They comfort me if I don't do well on a test or project, and they cheer me on with all of my accomplishments. Also, not a lot of people have a family like mine. I have a full family that loves each other in many ways, and they are something I am truly grateful for. I need to keep them close and always thank God for how blessed I am to have people in my life who love and care for
Feeling unwanted from the closest people in your life who turn away from you when you need them the most, is the worst feeling a person can endure. I chose the song “My Story” by Sean McGee, because people young and old can relate to his song. People from different backgrounds can relate to each other when there are living homeless or raised as a foster child. Sean McGee wrote “my daddy don’t know, my momma don’t care, it don’t matter if I’m here, it don’t matter if I’m dead” people all around the world have the same issues and share a common culture. A master status is the most important status a person occupies, this is a key factor in determining a person’s social position.
The song “Ants Marching” by Dave Matthews Band has several connections to Fahrenheit 451. For example, the line “cut, cut on the fence not offend” (Dave Matthews Band) directly ties into the book. People in the Fahrenheit 451 society are so fastidious as to not offend people that they lose the power to change lives through knowledge. These citizens have cut off their ability to truly understand others and the world around them the minute they tossed the first book into the crackling orange-and-red blaze, sparking a nationwide holocaust of valuable lessons and ideas. Another example of this song’s correlation to Fahrenheit 451 would be none other than this quote in part one: “You ask why to a lot of things and you wind up very unhappy indeed,

The thought of the day that I found interesting was “worry is a futile thing, it’s somewhat like a rocking chair. Although it keeps you occupied, it doesn’t get you anywhere” -Anonymous. This quote means that there is no point in worrying because you can’t succeed and move forward, if you worry all the time. This quote relates to the song “My Wish” by Rascal Flatts because the lyrics “I hope the days come easy and the moments pass slow, and each road leads you to where you want to go.” show that stress and worrying is bad and you should try to find ways to avoid it. An event from my life that the quote and lyrics show a connection is when I had a technology project in the 6th grade where we had to build wind powered cars. When the teacher
In the song “Black Balloon” by the Goo Goo Dolls, there is a very deep meaning that many listeners don’t hear with the first listen. Black Balloon is a song about a woman's losing battle to addiction. The Goo Goo Dolls make the song very upbeat but with a very heavy message. Lead singer John Rzeznik, wrote this song about a friend who overdosed on heroin.
Band members: Ron Carter (bass), Ali Shaheed Muhammad (DJ), Phife Dawg (vocals), Q-Tip (vocals), Busta Rhymes (vocals), Charlie Brown (vocals), Diamond D (vocals), Dinco D (vocals), Lord Jamar (vocals), Sadat X (vocals), Bryan Higgins (vocals), and James Jackson (vocals).
In the end, the poem is looking to show what actions can do in the long run. It teaches us to be very cautious with everything we do since it can affect the people around us. It can have good or bad
“Over There” is a song written by George M. Cohan in 1917. Nora Bayes, Enrico Caruso, Billy Murray, Arthur Fields, and Charles King were among many who recorded the song. It was written as a propaganda piece encouraging young American men to join the army to fight in World War I. The song was incredibly popular, selling over two million copies of sheet music and one million copies of recordings by the end of the war. Cohan, the writer, was eventually even awarded a Congressional Medal of Honor for his work on this song.
Somewhere between rock and roll and the psychedelic seventies is a time of protests, riots and war. From this turbulent time in history, Stephen Stills penned a rhythmic tune which would become an anthem for protests, “For What It’s Worth.” As a member of the group known as Buffalo Springfield, Stills was a talented musician and song writer. The song was written during a time of civil rights protests and the Viet Nam war. Contrary to popular thought, the song was not written to protest the Viet Nam war or the deaths on the Kent State campus, however it was written and recorded to shed light on the Sunset Strip riots in Los Angeles. When Pandora’s Box, a club on the strip for teens, was closed in November 1966, the protests started and lasted
In times of war it is quite common for people to start questioning their values and their actions and be unsure of the path they are taking. This is common because to protect our values we often are told that we have to take actions that conflict with those values. One example would be how to protect our liberties we must sometimes restrain those liberties during treacherous times. However, the ultimate question is whether or not going against the very values we stand for is a hypocritical and wrongful action plan. Bruce Springsteen approaches this very issue in his song “Devils & Dust”, from the CD with the same title, and he subtly criticizes how the United States is betraying its values.
This song talks a lot about the baggage of the past that people hold onto instead of letting it go. All that baggage is only going to end up hurting you more and more instead of helping you in any way possible. An example is the opening
The poet tries to appreciate the people, who are always present when their friends and family are in need. She says that when people are in need of help, and/or suffering, all one needs to do is stick by their side, to give them courage to overcome their troubles.
Ode To Dirt Poetry Analysis Essay Final. Typically, when someone accidentally hurts another person’s feelings unintentionally, they feel horrible when they realize what they’ve done. In the same way, we see this very path of events happening or being described in the poem Ode To Dirt by Sharon Olds. In the poem, it is evident that Olds goes through a change of heart in her opinion about dirt.
The song I chose is called “Before He Cheats”. It was composed by Josh Kear and Chris Tompkins, and it was performed by Carrie Underwood. It is about when a guy cheats on Carrie Underwood so she demolishes his truck. I chose this song because it is hilarious and I like it. It also has a lot of imagery.
As I have been reading memoirs about memory for this class, each essay made me recall or even examine my past memory closely. However, the more minutely I tried to recall what happened in the past, the more confused I got because I could not see the clear image and believe I get lost in my own memory, which I thought, I have preserved perfectly in my brain. The loss of the details in each memory has made me a little bit sentimental, feeling like losing something important in my life. But, upon reading those essays, I came to realize that remembering correct the past is not as important as growing up within memory. However, the feelings that were acquired from the past experience tend to linger distinctly. The essay that is related to my experience
