The work Double Jackie by Richard Pettibone is no larger than three inches in height and four inches in length. This work depicts a double portrait of a woman printed with black ink on silver foil. The foil lays horizontal, and a line divides it down the middle. The woman’s face repeats on both the left and right side of the foil. Her face tilts downward to the left corner. In total size, the work and its frame take up about one square foot on the wall. Though the frame seems large, the Double Jackie’s thin black frame, wide strip of matt board, and black background serve to emphasize the miniscule work behind the glass. Kennedy’s wife. The original work by Warhol was made just a year after her husband’s assassination. In the book Richard Pettibone: A Retrospective it explains how, “Richard Pettibone has traced the sources of his early work to two exhibitions: the first, an Andy Warhol show at the Ferus Gallery in Los Angeles in 1962, and the second the first major Marcel Duchamp Retrospective at the Pasadena Art Museum in 1963.” When we look at Pettibone’s Double Jackie, we see how he was influenced by artists such as Warhol and Duchamp. It makes sense to see Pettibone copying another artist’s work, however, the Double Jackie is a much smaller part of the original. Jackie Kennedy was an American icon, and many people held her in high regard. Warhol’s pop art style turns Jackie into more of an abstraction. We don’t see subtle rendering or highlights that define her face. Instead we have two stark colors, silver and black, that define her face. Considering the fact that the original work by Warhol was created soon after the Kennedy Assassination, Jackie’s head gesture and expression describe the mood. Her face is slightly turned down. The double Portrait ( Happy Birthday, Dear Eshter) was created by Abraham Rattner in1974. It’s an oil paint on Masonite and the size of artwork is 29.5 x 28 in. This painting has two figures who are Rattner’s second wife, Eshter and Rattner himself. The scene is Rattner is painting the portrait of Eshter and Rattner, himself is half of the paining. Rattner is stadning foreground. He is holding paint pallet by left hand and he is facing sideway. Eshter is painted in the painting frame, thus she is a kind of slightly background position. This was a part of her birthday gift from Rattner. The year painted for this double portrait was their 25th wedding anniversary after they married in 1949 and he was 81 years old. He painted on Masonite which is made from a mixture of wood fibers that have been broken down and molded into a board using heat, pressure and the natural adhesion

Many themes arise in this novel, but the one that I find most prevalent is Phillipe Charboneau searching for a sense of belonging.

Dan Gutman’s Jackie and Me takes place in Brooklyn, New York. This is a place where mostly whites were racist towards African Americans because of the time period. A boy named Joe Stoshack, and a baseball star Jackie Robinson faced segregation. In order to overcome racism, smartness, humbleness, and drive are the keys to success. One lesson readers can learn from Jackie and Me is that in the story men and women judge people before they get to know them. Dan Gutman wanted to enforce to readers that “Every human being is the same because that is how God made us.”
It is often astounding how secrets can tear lives apart. The Secret Lives of Sgt. John Wilson gives testament to this fact. This story is the ultimate portrayal of deception and betrayal set amidst the serene, isolated canvas of the Saskatchewan prairies. What makes this story seems unbelievable is the fact that this is a true story which actually occurred as opposed to being fiction. John Wilson killed his loving unsuspecting wife Polly and hid her body in an isolated culvert in 1918 near Waldheim, Saskatchewan. Some years later he would be tried in a court of law, convicted and hung for his crime in Prince Alberta, Saskatchewan. He was the first and only Mountie to be hung in Canadian History. The composition of the piece is combined with pictures of President Kennedy, geometrical shapes and superheros such as Captain America, Iron Man and Thor. The piece itself does not really show movement, but the images all relate because of the viewing of media, politics and social awareness that Basquiat wanted to express to the art world. The color variation of this piece embraces a bit of pop art, which indicates the huge influence that Andy Warhol had on Basquiat at the time. A Lot of the clip pictures are bold but their color schemes are different such as the President Kennedy's picture contrast with the superhero clippings contrast within dark red and light red with Kennedy’s picture .The mood of the painting expresses sadness and despair, but eagerness for hope. During the 1960’s, President Kennedy was assassinated. Basquiat viewed him as an idol which shows why his picture takes up most of this art piece..
