There is only one word to describe Christopher Nolan’s latest science fiction film, Inception- epic.
As expected from Nolan who has directed two hugely successful films “Batman Begins” and “The Dark Knight” (not forgetting Nolan’s recent blockbuster, Interstellar), Inception was truly a wonderful masterpiece with Nolan’s skillful dark narrative style. Inception will be one of the most spellbinding, minds boggling and baffling science fiction you will ever watch apart from Matrix (2000). Inception is no conventional, straight forward film with a cliché plot. To fully understand Inception, you will need to constantly think and have a flexible mind as the scenes constantly transitions into different dimensions.

It really gave us the impression that we were watching a James Bond movie. As there weren’t much heartwarming scenes in Inception, the film felt kinda cold. However, Hans Zimmer’s composition managed to save the film from being completely frozen. Although the film was pretty long, you won’t be able to stop yourself from wanting to see more of Inception’s puzzling plot. There will still be a large missing piece in this film especially on Dom’s pasts. Anyway, Christopher Nolan did a great job in producing Inception as it is a well layered complex film with no gaps around. With the skillful cinematography and cool visual effects of the film, Inception will definitely join the top list of recommended science fiction films. We bet you will never be able to watch a well-crafted film in many years to come. Inception is truly a logical thinking film which even psychology students or lecturers will give a nod to its accurate scientific explanations.

Christopher Nolan did an excellent job writing and directing this film, he was very creative by started the film out with Leonard looking at a faded polarized photo rather than one that begins to develop. As the film went on, we learned that his wife was murdered and he was trying to solve the case. It is evident that Nolan put much thought and consideration into the casting for this film. The actors and actress made the story believable, by embracing their characters and allowing themselves to fully act out each characters story. If one was just watching the movie without knowing anything about the Anterograde Amnesia, they would walk out of the theatre trying to figure out who murdered Leonard’s and they would have some knowledge of what Anterograde Amnesia is and how it effects the victim. Even though this movie was filmed in 2001, the movie kept my attention and I was able to follow the plot.

Many people believe that they are in control of their own destiny, and have the option to do as they please; however, what people do not realize is that they are in an endless battle with matters beyond their control. Bob Samuels, describes that it is possible for some shows or movies like the film Inception (Christopher Nolan, 2010) which hint that capitalism and our current present time have attempted to imbed ideas and create a fantasy life that corporations believe is best for their target audience. The 2014 Kia Soul Hamster commercial (Lady Gaga “Applause”) uses three main forms of manipulation by enticing the viewers with an introduction of an ordinary life that people can relate too, using women as means of physical attraction, and creating a fantasy life that will be gained by purchasing the product.
Both Collins and Ross did a remarkable job in creating a sensational science fiction story that captivates its readers and viewers. I feel it is uncommon to find a film that portrays the aspects of a novel this consistently, and while there were a few differences I feel the film does an exceptional job of encompassing the vision of this book.
In conclusion, all these factors made Vertigo a great film and made it much more enjoyable for the audience. All the Hollywood Classical Film characteristics that are used in the film enhance the power of Vertigo. Everyone should see Vertigo, since it is a perfect example of a Hollywood Classical Film. In my opinion Alfred Hitchcock was a genius and Vertigo is one of the greatest Hollywood films ever created.
I have now seen this movie three times in its entirety, the last being quite recently for this class. This time around I was a bit more critical, especially about the music, and why I was in such awe about everything that Kubrick did in this movie, about why I was left with the distinct impression that what I'd just watched and heard was the most important film ever made, sorry “Citizen Kane”.

The vision Christopher Nolan had for The Prestige (2006) was to add to the outbreak of street magician film, whilst playing a large dramatic subplot equal in grandeur to the magical performances within the film. In the final sequence of the film, I will analyse how the cinematography and sound helps to resolve the plot so that it summarises the themes present in the film, whilst also invoking a response from the audience. This is an idea that maybe these unconscious behaviors can be used to alter the future or the past mistakes or anything in between for that matter. Everyone dreams at some point in their life and what many people don’t realize is that dreams usually develop from past experiences or from actual occurrences and thoughts. This means that if someone happened to see a guy wearing a cowboy hat with a feather in it, in one of their dreams, they most likely saw this person at some point in their life and may not have even realized it. It is impossible to create a new face in a dream. Equally, he provides audiences with the question of whether their reality is true, or perhaps the world they know is a dream. Paralleling the film’s ambiguous ending, the line between reality and the dream world is blurred due to the exceptional strategies Nolan and his team utilize. Mise-en-scéne elements of setting, brilliant cinematography, and profound editing techniques institute the film’s prevailing narrative form and motifs. Many film directors manipulate the concept of fantasy versus reality, but instead of providing a mundane exposition, fantasy becomes the new reality in Inception.

Everyone is able to find their favorite part about the movie, and various people can watch this movie and connect with it.
