America has gained an obsession with physical fitness. A big reason America is obsessed with physical fitness is because being physically fit means that a person will be more physically attractive in today’s society. With the growing rate of obesity, society is now putting more pressure on individuals to work out. Staying fit is very important, because people will be healthier if they do. There are many reasons that people work out, a few examples are to maintain health, appearance, stay in shape, or even as a hobby. A lot of athletes will work out to stay in shape so they can keep up with their competition. I work out because I have to maintain my health, stamina, and endurance to keep up in cheerleading. Many people do not know that cheerleading …show more content…
More and more cross fit gyms are popping up everywhere due to the growing amount of members. There are many other popular ways that people work out, some people take classes and hire trainers. Individuals can also find numerous DVDs out there that allow people to work out at home. Programs that are designed for people to use at home makes working out easier for moms or people who work a lot and do not have much time to get to a gym.
With the growing rate of obesity, stressing the importance of working out is crucial for people to maintain their health. America is now pressuring people to get into the gym and work out. The more people work out the better their health is going to get. Some people find that once they start working out they cannot stop. People are becoming obsessed an addicted to working out. With America’s obsession with physical fitness, we are now seeing more people excited to get into the gym and work out. People need to continue to stress the importance of working out and encouraging others to go to the gym because working out is very good for their health. People do not have an excuse to not work out because there are many gyms and programs aimed for many different types of people. America’s obsession with physical fitness is important to society because people are starting to work out more, which results in better
When it comes down to it everyone ends up working out because it becomes a part of their everyday life style and they enjoy doing it. A person who is slightly overweight would get into the gym for weight loss and quickly see that there are many other people around working towards the same goal. Progress becomes easier when encouragement is received from others. Whether it is said or not everyone has their own motive to go to the gym, that easily separates people in this discourse community. However, it also brings unity to their own group.
The need to exercise is more of a necessity today. People are enrolling into gyms, though they are unable to continue. Why? It’s because people want rapid results. They go after strength exercises (because biceps and abs are cool), but soon realize that they are unable to continue. What’s
...rtant physical fitness is for just an "activity." The fact that major injuries occur, even with proper training is incredible. The risks involved in cheerleading make this sport important and impossible to ignore.
This is disturbing, not only because so many people are missing out on the physical benefits that result from exercise, but on the mental benefits that result from exercise as well
Image spending 24 hours,12 months and 365 days of just being inactive then BAM! you die. A 2012 study from the England University of Leicester showed that prolonged sitting was also linked to a greater risk of death from all causes. Exercising has become a norm in our society today with things such as gyms opening, vegan diets, and even television programs, but as of early 2018, 80% of adults don't get the recommended amount of exercise. I believe that exercise is important and everyone should participate in trying to improve their health. Just think about it and it might surprise you.
First I’m going to focus on how the media destroys people motivation by displaying misleading photos in their advertisements. Most gyms, workout facilities, and athletic wear clothing get models that are very physically fit to advertise their company in their commercials which is understandable because you do want the best to advertise your product. But when using people that look like they have been in the gym working out for over ten years, it can be very discouraging to the person that is just trying to start working out. And even more discouraging most gyms will use models that use supplements that help improve their body size and strength. These photos give people the false impression that if they work out hard enough they can achieve the results as the photos they are forced to stare at every day. What a lot of people fail to realize is a lot of times ...
Exercise is often thought of in a positive light. It is common belief in today’s society that a healthy diet and a regular exercise routine will lead to a long, healthy life. And in the simplest sense of the word, it will. It has been a tried and true method to control and lose weight, lift a person’s mood, boost energy, combat a variety of health conditions and diseases, promote better sleep patterns, and even increase libido. (Mayo Clinic, July 23, 2011). So with all of these being possible and probable benefits of working out, why would it possibly be anything other than good? Certainly, something with so many benefits can’t be a bad thing? However, we may overlook the fact that it is like any good thing; in excess it can become dangerous very quickly. In society, there are increasingly more athletes that are pushing themselves so hard to the point they are making themselves sick. Whatever happened to exercising for simple joy, or competing because of a love for sport? The motivations behind an individual’s exercise habits are directly related to whether they develop an addiction. There is even a term for this over exercising phenomenon: Exercise Addiction, or Exercise Dependence.
All in all, the rise of the fitness industry has impacted almost everyone in America, whether it means being more health conscious, body conscious, or fitness-a-phobic. This new fitness movement, if it continues growing at the rate it has been, will keep coming out with innovative ways to motivate the unmotivated into leading more active lifestyles. Ultimately this will lead to an American public that enjoys longer, healthier lives.
Are you ever satisfied when you do something and do not receive the results you want? I know you are not and nobody is. Everyone wants improvement in the world and people are happy and satisfied when everything is right. This concept can be applied to the world of physical education in today’s society. Obesity has slowly become one of the most problematic diseases that exist in the United States and the world today. The U.S. has been greatly impacted by this disease and more and more people in today’s society are overweight, unhealthy, and out of shape. Everyone knows that this issue needs to be fixed but in order to fix a problem you need to discover where the problem comes from. Many people blame food companies, which sell unhealthy food to people; others blame the media for promoting things such as junk food or video games. Other people blame the physical education systems in schools. Many people believe that physical education is not doing enough to help children and younger generations develop healthier habits. There is no doubt that society needs to change from being unhealthy and overweight to physically active and healthy, but many changes need to be done in society to do so, and making adjustments to physical education must be done.
Lives today are full of distractions; television, cell phones, tablets, social media, and everyday tasks create endless excuses and, not so logical, obstacles that hinder individuals from being active. America has the highest rate of overweight citizens in the world, so Nike’s simple solution, written plainly in black and white, is to “Just Do It”. No excuses, no self-constructed barriers, just get up and be active, and oh by the way, Nike products can help make it even easier.
Many studies have come to the conclusion that individuals who participate in health and wellness routines as well as a regular exercise program have a relatively increased degree of energy, lower healthcare bills, much better quality of life along with less stress, as well as improved health. Staying in good physical shape and healthy calls for everyone, to be conscious of their health, to be aware of the key fitness and health components and to follow them.
Many people believe that the only way they can get a good workout is by going to the gym, but that is incorrect. Many people can exercise right in their homes, or even at their local park. Many parks offer tracks where people can run, walk, or even ride their bikes. It’s a great way to enjoy the outside, and get some fresh air. There are a variety of free exercise videos online that people can do in the comforts of their home. Anybody can fit exercising into their daily schedule, because you can literally do it
This is an important area of health because regular physical activity keeps your body functioning properly. If you perform sufficient physical activity, you can manage your body weight better, reduce your risk of heart attacks, diabetes, some cancers, high blood pressure, have stronger bones, joint and muscles while feeling energetic, happy, relaxed and sleep better.
Exercising is a popular activity for people around the world, but many people exercise indoors when they should be going outdoors for added benefits. Exercising outdoors can make people more committed to a workout program than an indoor workout plan, and their motivation levels increase (Lacharite-Lemieux, Brunelle, & Dionne, 2015). Working out outdoors will improve a person’s overall psychological (mental) health, more so than normally exercising, which already has psychological and physiological benefits (Hug, Hartig, Hansmann, Seeland, & Hornung, 2009). Obesity rates in America are high and getting people to stick to an exercise program would help fight unhealthy obesity (Gladwell, Brown, Wood, Sandercock, & Barton, 2013). Finally, if a
Being physically fit can help deliver good health benefits that can't be received any other way. Going to the gym everyday and getting a good workout is a basic need and will help increase your stamina and help you remain in good health. A person who exercises regularly will get more out of every day. The many types of exercises help demonstrate many techniques of physical fitness that create good habits and your health and energy levels will be greater than ever before. Being physically fit is a lifestyle, and does a body good.
