In the book Allegiant, by Veronica Roth, Tris, the main character, and boyfriend Tobias try to escape the unjust city killing innocent people under the truth serum. When the book first starts off it takes place in the truth serum where numerous people were killed because they were working for Jeaniene, since Tris’s brother Caleb choose Erudite he had to work for Jeaniene so he was going to get killed if it wasn’t for Tobias who help free him from the truth serum. Next, they left the city fighting through numerous waves of soldiers to get to the city wall then climbing over it. When they got over the wall they accidentally stumbled upon the Bureau of Genetic Welfare where they discover so many things and took it back to the city and ended …show more content…
First, let's start with the similarities that they both have. One example, of a similarity, is when the book and movie first start off, they are putting people in the truth serum to see if they are telling the truth about the participation in the attack that Jennie had planned and executed. This scene and the chapter is the cornerstone of this book because with this foundation they can build on it and keep progressing the story. Next similarity is when they are at the Bureau of Genetic Welfare and Tobias meets Nita in the middle of the night to go on a scroll and to talk about the Genetic Welfare. This is also an important part of the book because when Tris finds out she starts to not believe Tobias as much as a couple should. This causes a big fault between Tris and Tobias because when Tobias figures out the true reason why David is capturing kids from the fringe he tries to warn Tris but she wouldn’t believe him, this is another factor in making this book progress. The third and final similarity is at the end of the book when Tris dies trying to save the compound and the remnants of her parents. This scene/chapter is one of the most emotional chapters throughout this novel because when you learn about the love that Tris has for her parents makes your heart feel warm with satisfaction. This similarity is important because if the movie …show more content…
In the movie, Uriah died by not telling the truth under the truth serum, but in the book, Uriah was with Tris and Tobias until they escaped the compound and went over the wall ,and eventually killed by Eric in the fringe. This death is vital to the story because Uriah helped get Tris and Tobias out of the compound by killing a lot of soldiers, if he wasn’t there then Tris and Tobias probably wouldn’t have made it, meaning the story would have ended in the first 10-15 chapters. Another difference that is major to the book Allegiant is found at the end of the book when David dies from the burst of fumes that were “supposed” to help the “Genetically Damaged.” This is an important difference because in the movie David was spying on them all the way back to the Dauntless compound and figures of the secrets of Dauntless. In the book, David died and Tris and Tobias both found the true reason why David was capturing all the kids. Lastly, the biggest difference in Allegiant is that in the book Tobias and Tris break up with each other, but in the movie they were still together till the end of the movie. This is the biggest difference for readers because throughout this trilogy Tris and Tobias had been together for the longest time. These are just few examples of how the book and the movie are
There are few similarities between the book and the movie. Usually most movies are similar to
Another similarity in the book and movie is that the characters have to go against their morals in order to decide what to do in certain situations. An example of this in the book is when Skip realises he would have to trespass and steal in order for him to keep himself and his friends alive. Or in...
For example, Mama goes to the bank in the movie and is given a hard time about paying her mortgage, but this did not happen in the book. Another major difference is that the school bus scene, where the Logan kids played a trick on the white kids, was not shown in the movie, even though it was an important part of the story. There are some character changes as well. Lillian Jean, Jeremy, R.W, and Melvin are Simms’ in the book, but in the movie they are Kaleb Wallace’s children. However, the main plot difference is how the movie starts in the middle, summarizing everything from the first part of the book very briefly. Additionally, many scenes are switched around and placed out of order. Altogether, the plot and character changes contribute to my unfavorable impression of the
In the movie dwayne plays a good part. Dwayne was the guys that stuck up for them even though people did not like their documentary. Dwayne did get shot although that did not happen in the book. Another difference most of the characters that were in the book looked way younger that what the picture said that they looked like in the book. The book did not tell us that Lloyd liked to gamble. Lloyd gambled and almost got shot in the movie. In the movie Lloyd was like the bad guy in the movie, the movie told only bad things about Lloyd and only good things about LeAlan. Another difference in the movie is that the boys who threw Eric Morse out the window were sentenced to Juvenile Detention Center till the age of twenty-one. This is a big part because they never told what the verdict was which made it seem like they were let free from what they did. The last difference is in the movie the vacant apartment that in the book said that it looked creepy and run down it looked really nice in the apartment and I did not really understand why no one lived there.
The movie and the story had some of the same characters but some weren't exactly the same. The movie introduced many different characters and changed some of the others. For example, the movie had the plant lady and had the mentor of Anderton as the founders of Precrime while in the book, Anderton was the only founder of Precrime. Also, Witwer wasn't blond he had black hair and Kapler wasn't named Kapler he was named Crow. In the story they had the red head Fleming who did not exist
In both the novel and movie focus on the war. The war influences the characters to enroll. Also, the main setting is at the Devon School. However, in the novel Gene visits Leper at his house but in the movie Leper lives in the woods. In the novel Gene is coming back to the Devon School 15 years later. However, in the book he is coming to Devon as a new student. Therefore, similarities and differences exist in time and setting in the novel and the movie. In the novel and the movie there are similarities and differences in events, character, and time and setting.
...d coloring of certain images. The novel, however, puts much greater emphasis on the imagination and creativity, and on the main character Tita. The novel really makes the reader feel Titas pain and grow with her as she discovers her freedom, whereas the movie failed to achieve this. Moreover, the movie tends to ignore the significant of 3 integral motifs, cooking, tears and sensuality.
They both have a theme of racism and the author gave out what it was like for the black community in the past on having to go threw what they did everyday. In these novels, the characters and the society are alike however, unfortunately they have different endings.
In conclusion, details involving the characters and symbolic meanings to objects are the factors that make the novel better than the movie. Leaving out aspects of the novel limits the viewer’s appreciation for the story. One may favor the film over the novel or vice versa, but that person will not overlook the intense work that went into the making of both. The film and novel have their similarities and differences, but both effectively communicate their meaning to the public.
Compare/Contrast Book and Movie The game which killed a whole species in an interstellar war. Ender’s game, the novel and movie that made old school books seem like it was published yesterday. The main concept is about a boy named Ender in an advanced world who feels threatened by an alien race. The military sends the boy to school in space so that he will destroy the world threat.
Each version also has the main characters boarding up the windows. Anyone who thought the birds won’t attack are usually found dead, but in the movie they are found with their eyes pecked out. Also, both the story and the movie have REALLY bad endings! They aren’t very similar, but they both leave you hanging. When you see a movie or read a book you want to know what happens to the main characters. In these two, you didn’t get an ending. They left you hanging and for some people that ruins it all.
The similarities are quite apparent, the movie plot mainly follows the basic plot that the book took, leaving the viewer’s with a sense of accomplishment, as this is sometimes not achieved in the highest degree. Scout still has a brother, Jem. They both still meet Dill and have a few adventures with him throughout the film. Jem and Scout still have a single father, Atticus, having lost their mother many years ago. Calpunia is still their cook. And the whole story still has an overpowering sense of focusing on two main stories, Boo Radley (Arthur Radley) and Tom Robinson’s trial.
Whedon's production of Much Ado About Nothing is a modern, black and white retelling of the famous Shakespeare play of the same name which tells the story of love and deceit between two couples: Hero and Claudio, and Beatrice and Benedick. While Hero and Claudio court and prepare to marry each other, Beatrice and Benedick steal the show away with their wit, humor, and constant bickering. Though they both insist that they hate each other, the flashback presented at the start of the film suggests that there is far more to the story than meets the eye. While the style of the film certainly enhances the story being told, making it a timeless classic entangled with modern society, it is the ensemble cast that work both individually and as a unit which make the film a true masterpiece, as well as the genius idea of a change in scenery that propels a sense of realism not often found in your average Shakespeare adaptation.
One similarity is at the beginning when Ender got his monitor removed, Stilson confronted him and attempted to beat up Ender since he no longer had a monitor, but, Ender was the one who came out victorious in the end, beating Stilson to death making sure he never messed with him again. This situation was a main part in the book so it was important to include it in the movie because it is what set up the rest of the story. Another similarity is all the things that go in Battle school, Ender meeting practicing after hours with Petra, Ender joining Bonzos army, Ender running his own army, Ender winning a battle against two teams, and most importantly Bonzo and Enders confrontation in the bathroom when Bonzo attempted to beat Ender up and Ender hit him back, Bonzo stumbled backwards, fell and hit his head and died. This is important to include all of these scenes from the book in the movie because it shows the obstacles Ender faced in Battle school, even though he knew things were unfair he is still pushed himself through everything. The last similarity is when Ender was promoted Command School, there he practice day in and day out to become the leader of the Third Invasion. Going into his final test, thinking it is a simulation, he destroyed the planet of Eros and eliminated the bugger race. It was important to include this scene from the book in the movie to because it represents all of the work Ender put in
