Albinism is a rare genetic disorder, it is a condition that can be inherited and is present at the point of birth. A defect in one of the genes that produces and distributes melanin is what causes albinism. This can also be caused by a lack of melanin production. There are many different types and versions of albinism that vary in degree. Albinism is a genetic disorder that has a lack of pigment in hair, eyes, and skin. This makes the person, or animal appear white. People that have albinism, are more in more risk to certain cancers, like skin cancer for example. This is a very well-known genetic disorder in the world.

Someone who lives in the country Nigeria, and has albinism will be incredibly easy to spot out amongst a group of people. Someone with Albinism will face many social problems growing up, this is due to the irregular appearance of Albinism. Someone that is supposed to have darker skin, will look much differently with very light skin tone, and eye color. Getting sunburned is a problem for people with Albinism, the lack of pigments in the skin make them less protected the rays of the sun. Sunglasses are also important, to help protect the health of the eye. Many people with Albinism need prescription glasses to correct their eyesight. Abnormal eye movement is a part of Albinism, the movement may be very rapid. There are certain surgeries available to help correct the rapid, abnormal movement of the eyes. In case studies, the concordance rates in monozygotic twins have supported that certain disorders were caused by genetics and not the environment. The discordant values in twins will also be evaluated briefly. Twinning studies have also shown linkages between specific disorders and the genes responsible for them. Knowing the location of these genes allows patients to be treated quickly and efficiently. This paper will discuss the possible causes of twinning and the various methods of identifying abnormalities in twins. These methods also allow preventive measures against the rise of birth defects during prenatal development. Epigenetics in twins is also viewed through the perspective of effects on them. Treatments for genetic disorders in twins are reviewed, ranging from the restoration of malformed teeth to the separation of conjoined twins. Support groups for twins in treatment, and their families are also briefly reviewed.

Therefore, in the process of furthering human evolution, melanin production has played an enormous role in human evolution by selecting for several features that allow for particular adaptions according to the human's geographical location and environment.
