There are many different emotions that make people do many different things, yet love seems to be the strongest emotion of all. Love is the reason people fight for there country, or why a mother lion protects her young. In the short story “the Rocking-Horse” by D.H. Lawrence we see a little boy use his undeniable gift to help his materialistic mother with money issue. Yet in the book “The Stranger” by Albert Camus we see a man who seems to be lacking love or really any emotion at all to turn into a uncontrollable man with many different ideas about life. Or yesterday maybe, I don’t know. I got a telegram from the home: “mother deceased. Funeral tomorrow. Faithfully yours.” That doesn’t mean anything. Maybe it was yesterday.” (Camus 3) In the book “The Stranger” we see a man completely different the Pall from the Rocking-Horse. Meursault is the kind of man who doesn’t even remember much of his own mothers funeral or ever shed a tear. He is lacking love and emotion from his life all together. He seems to be a man of few or no emotion at all. When going though the story we see how he condones a man beating his mistress and killing another man for virtually no reason at all. This sociopath shows no remorse or love for anything he has done and anyone he has hurt. This is the opposite of Pall from “The Rocking-Horse” who only wanted to help his mother. Meursault did not love anyone but himself. This man hurt and destroyed many peoples lives. This story shows us how love is non existent in Meursaults life. When someone love someone such as a son loving his mother, it is appropriate to show emotion when their mother has passed, yet Meursault shows none. This is a tall tale sign that he has no love for his mother or the man he killed or anyone for that matter. When coming to the end
