all ages. Credibility Statement: Being a college student can often be a fatiguing experience at times and that’s why the Kalamazoo Air Zoo is a great place where you can relieve everyday stresses and it is important to enjoy the care-free side of life from time to time. I have been astounded by what I have when visiting the unique aesthetics of the Kalamazoo Air Zoo. I have done online research with this foundation, and have been intrigued by what I have learned. E. Preview of Main Points: First, I will describe what the Air Zoo is. Second, I will examine the history of the Air Zoo and new additions. Third, I will discuss the rides and simulations. II. From airplanes to an amusement park, the Air Zoo is a nationally known place in Michigan to create truly extraordinary experiences for people of all ages. The Air Zoo is an aviation museum and indoor amusement park. It takes you through the history and highlights of aviation and space. The Kalamazoo Air Zoo is located at 6151 Portage Road. The museum itself includes more than 50 aircraft which are very rare and have been restored to working condition. The co-founder’s P-40 Warhawk fighter plane can be spotted hanging from the ceiling upon entrance to the museum. According to DiscoverKalamazoo.com, they are “home to the nationally-recognized Guadalcanal Memorial Museum and the Michigan Aviation Hall of Fame and have the world’s last remaining SR-71B Blackbird and XP-55 Ascender.” 2.
They have a RealD 3D/4D theatre along with a full-motion, 360-degree flight simulator.
The entire museum itself can hold up to 2,500 reception style and 1,500 banquet style backdrops.
The mezzanine can seat up to 120 visitors and numerous classrooms, lounges, theatres and boardrooms are great for smaller groups to attend to.
It takes you through various planets and the international space station.
3. The Air Zoo is a thrilling atmosphere with lots of critical acclaim.
According to AirZoo.org, they have been “voted the "Best Place to Take Out-of-Towners" and "Best Place to Spend a Day with Your Family" three years in a row”.
The Air Zoo would not be anywhere close to what it is today if not for all the hard-working, dedicated volunteers.
Transition: Now that I’ve described what the Kalamazoo Air Zoo is, let’s go through the history behind it.
B. After years of development, a revolutionary airplane restoration museum would be created.
Idea of development of a small aviation foundation was progressed accordingly.
Originally founded in 1977, the museum was initially called The Kalamazoo Aviation History
Museum. Going back to the 1940s, two aviation enthusiasts named Pete Parish and Suzanne Parish began collecting airplanes According to Ed Nowak and Gerard Pahl from Historynet.com, with Pete previously being in the Marine Air Corps and Suzanne being a member of Women Air Force Service Pilot during WWII, they included the the AT-6 trainer she flew, according to Terry Turner from Sioux City Journal. Shortly after gaining more aircraft, the Parish couple got an offer to create a museum among the acquirement of a WWII Grumann Bearcat, which they quickly accepted. 2. The “Air Zoo’” name was conceived from the large amount of animal names given to the aircraft. Ed Nowak and Gerard Pahl from Historynet.com also state, “The museum has gained a reputation for a quality of restoration seen in few other museums in the United States.” By 1986, the size of the foundation had tripled to 45,000 square feet and implemented a larger library, larger exhibit hall, a new store, and video theatre. Expansion of the museum progressed in 1994 with the movement of restoration center and aircraft to a larger building. 3. There were even more additions made in the 2000s According to Terry Turner from The Sioux City Journal, in 2004, “the Air Zoo opened a new 120,000 square-foot facility containing 360-degree full-motion flight simulators, a 4D theater, indoor amusement park rides, a 3D space shuttle ride to the International Space Station, traveling exhibits from the Smithsonian Institution and, surrounding the display area, an indoor mural.” And in 2011, they kept popping out new and impressive exhibits containing a new Century of Flight Ferris Wheel, a golf course, a Paratrooper Jump and also the flight simulation Corsair Challenge. Transition: Now that we’ve discussed some history about the Air Zoo, let’s talk about the different exhibits and simulations you can enjoy during your visit. C. Statement of third main point. Do not use a source in this statement. Idea of development or support for the first main point Planes like the SR-71B are one of a kind on display. According to Patrick Brent interviewed by Joan Dittmann from Chicago Tribune, “It was a spy plane made in the 1960s, so it's an old plane, but it's still considered to be the fastest in the world. It went close to 2,400 mph, literally faster than a speeding bullet.” There are many many more planes in the museum, including an F-14 Tomcat, made famous by the film, “Top Gun”. 2. Space exploration in the museum. Among the additions made in 2011, space exploration was the most notable. According to Crystal Vander Weit from MLive.com, “This exhibit celebrates those innovators' amazing discoveries and the history of space exploration, ancient cosmology and the chance to experience the liftoff of Saturn V as it leaves Earth.” All rides and simulations are included in the admission price. 3. Kids rides include a flying circus ride and Paratrooper Jump. Crystal Vander Weit also says, “It chronicles one of the longest and bloodiest campaigns of World War II, which is known as the psychological and geographical turning point of land war in the Pacific.” Furthermore, the 3D/4D theatre showcases the program “Space: Dare To Dream”, which is a homage to ancient cosmology and space exploration. There are many other exciting things to do in the Air Zoo like just relaxing and eating with your company, observing the museum, or having a great time with the simulations. You can always be sure to leave the Air Zoo satisfied and create memories you’ll never forget. III. Conclusion A. Review of Main Points: I have told you all about what the Air Zoo is. I have gone the history and additions to the museum. I have told informed about the exhibits and simulations in the facility. B. Restate Thesis: From airplanes to an amusement park, the Air Zoo is a nationally known place in Michigan to create truly extraordinary experiences for people of all ages. C. Closure: So I urge you all to have a look at the Kalamazoo Air Zoo sometime, thank you for your time.
Have you ever seen an animal sitting in a cage all alone with nothing to do. Well, zoos are trying to change that fact. They will allow the animals to live in an environment that is like their home. Many people don't realize this, but zoo are keeping and breeding these animals because they would not survive in the wild alone. In the three passages, ¨The Stripes Will Survive,¨ ¨The Zood Go Wild from No More Dodos,¨ ¨Our Beautiful Macaws and Why They Need Enrichment.¨ All of these articles present one claim, that is that the role of zoos is no longer to keep animal, but to protect them.
Traveling to an amusement park is a family’s finest way to bond, but is it worth the time and drive to attend just any amusement park? This essay will compare and contrast Six Flags San Antonio, SeaWorld San Antonio, and Disney World Florida from price range, food, and the variety of rides.

Universal Studios Orlando, some say that it is the best amusement park in the world with some of the best rides in the world. It has some great restaurants where you can go to eat after a very long day at the park and relax. It has has more amazing things too that you will read about in this review.
For years I’ve been planning a family vacation but had never decided a pleasant and fascinating place to visit. A lot of people relate the adventures in San Antonio for tourists. To mention a few, The Riverwalk, Sea World, Six Flags Fiesta, and The Tower of the Americas are the main attractions that would be perfect for a family trip. I was so enthusiastic and explored more into it. I gave my family the great news of going and exploring this amazing city on our own! San Antonio offers the best of attractions and activities in all Texas! Whether you’re looking for popular entertainment for the whole family or to spend time with your friends, I was so positive I had made a superb decision!
Stotts uses scholarly articles, newspaper articles and historical monographs to show the changing ideologies and perception of zoological parks in America. He addresses the reasons adults and children alike were attracted to these parks. Stotts addresses the appeal of the zoo to American families, which extends upon the social history of the United States. Furthermore he addresses how zoos came to become sanctuaries, preservers and protectors of America’s wildlife for future generations.
Throughout every human’s life in the United States, there will portably come a time when they take a trip to an aquarium or zoo. Do not get me wrong; it is incredible to see all those beautiful creatures up close and personal, but most people do not realize what actually is going on. Typically, when the day is spent at the zoo or aquarium, the day usually follows a schedule like this: You spend the day roaming the grounds, moving from habitat to habitat, break for lunch, and then once you’ve seen everything you want to see you return home and are free to do whatever you want to do. The harsh reality of these places is that while it is cool to spend the day there, you would never want to spend your entire life there. The animals are taken from
Zoos have been very controversial lately with debate about animal cruelty and speculations shifting around the industry, so what is the truth about zoos? Zoos are known to be a safe area for animals and humans, entertain individuals and be a safe containment for endangered animals. Knowing this information it’s factual to say that this sounds like the perfect place for animals and humans, and they are.
Stroud, Peter. "Defining Issues of Space in Zoos." Journal of Veterinary Behavior: Clinical Applications and Research 2.6 (2007): 219-22.
The first zoo in the United States was established in 1874 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The Philadelphia zoo first only had 813 animals but has grown today to have 1,300 animals, still having the same forty-two acres as it did when it first opened. Today there are zoos in almost every major city across the country and even more around the world. But along with zoos, there are marine parks and aquariums. The most famous marine park is SeaWorld, which has three different locations in the nation: Orlando, San Diego and San Antonio. Zoos and aquariums were first brought about to learn about the species that we live with on this planet. To be educated about the wild creatures who are so different from ourselves. Zoos and the caging of wild animals have been around for centuries, there is evidence from Egypt of rulers having wild animals as pets, locking them in cages, just like how today people have hamsters but instead, you would have a wild animal. Today, zoos are used for education to teach people about wild animals so that we can learn ways to conserve the planet and the animals’ habitats, in order to prevent more animals from becomin...
How about war torn regions? Wars have been going on for years; my dad fought in Baghdad twice, and not only is it devastating to the people; but to the zoo animals. Taiz zoo in Yemen; who’s animals are

Since approximately 1250 B.C., ancient Egyptians had created and practiced the capture and display of animals in what are now known as zoos (Fravel). Records describe such exotic animals as birds, lions, giraffes, and tigers in captivity (Fravel). Since then, zoos have continued to entertain millions with the exciting chance to view exotic animals up close and personal. Even in ancient Greece, exotic animals were on display in fighting arenas, and in enclosed viewing areas. Originally in America, zoos were just created so that royalty and the wealthy could flaunt their exotic animals to the public (Leolupus). Today, with species threatened and habitats disappearing worldwide, zoos are serving a new purpose other than the mere exhibition of animals – conservation. (Fravel). When you think of a zoo, you either think of a fun, entertaining place that provides close-up and exciting exhibits of wild animals that you would otherwise never get the chance to see, or a place where people keep suffering, unhappy animals captive just for entertainment and display. However, despite whichever view you hold, and despite the stereotypes, some zoos have evolved to serve alternative and helpful purposes. Although some zoos face controversy due to allegations such as lack of space and quality care, neglect, and cruelty, some zoos have programs specifically designed to help and protect animal species. For example, these zoos have programs that help such conservation efforts as breeding.
From our loving pets that welcome us home every day, to the birds chirping in the morning, to the exotic animals we admire; animal safety and animal rights is a priority that gathers attention across the world. Being up close and personal with animals is a coveted experience that zoos try to bring to everyday life. While it is breathtaking to see these glorious animals it can possibly bring danger to their lives and call into question someone’s morals. The Denver Zoo claims that they rescue endangered or suffering animals from hostile environments and bring them into a safe, nurturing facility where they cater to the animals’ needs. With the demands of the people it is truly amazing that the Denver Zoo can properly care
Most Americans have been to a zoo or aquarium at some point in their lives. They spend the whole day outside with their friends and family looking at all the animals from all over the world. For most people, zoos are the only way they will ever be able to see these amazing animals in person. However one animal that lives in zoos across the country may not be there in a couple years.
