“All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights.” This quote tells that judging a book by its cover is unfair. In the movie “The Help,” it gives people a whole other perspective with racism. This movie explains that being in somebody else’s position may not always be the easiest and people should treat others how they want to be treated. Out of all of the characters in this movie, Skeeter, Minny, and Aibileen all stand out the most. These characters all have alike attitudes towards racism. In this critical review, Skeeter, Minny, and Aibileen will be mentioned. To begin, in the movie, “The Help,” Skeeter Clark is white woman who has her college degree and lives at home with her mother. Aibileen’s job was to basically do house chores and raise children for white families. She was one of the most down to earth and kind people in this movie. In the movie, “The Help,” Aibileen went through so much, but she still managed to stay positive even when times got hard. Not to long ago Aibileen had lost her son and that made her really open her eyes to children. Aibileen has been working for Elizabeth. Elizabeth has a two year old little girl; Aibileen enjoys taking care of her daughter because it makes her feel like a mother again. In this movie, Aibileen was the person to share Skeeter’s stories because Aibileen’s son’s death was mentioned and that gave her inspiration. Throughout, “The Help,” Aibileen and Skeeter have stuck together and almost made a pack. Aibileen as a person makes herself sound very positive and kind. She really proves that judging a book by its cover is an issue with society. In conclusion, if a person is looking for a great movie with suspense and an exciting ending about racism, than this movie would be highly recommended. This movie has several different emotions including, sad, happy, and straightforward. This movie gives the person watching it a great look at how racism was in the 1960’s and how it should've been. No matter what shape, color, or size a person may be, everybody deserves to be treated the same. I really did enjoy watching this movie and I would recommend it to
