One of the most asked question in the world today is what is the age of responsibility? The age of responsibility is the age when young people actually take responsibilities for themselves, whether it is drinking or it is driving. Although people believe that there is a certain age of responsibility, I believe that there is no age of responsibility, but an age of preparation. This age of preparation has two meanings that help us believe what is the true age of responsibility. One reason is to show that if a youth is prepared to take the responsibility of his or her actions. The other reason is to prepare them for more responsibilities that the youth has to take on in the future. At the age of sixteen, a person can receive his or her driver’s license. Receiving this driver’s license is a huge responsibility for the driver because the driver now has full responsibility for his or her life and even others’. This means if the driver is not careful or responsible and he or she does not obey the traffic laws, it could lead to a serious accident and take away his or her or other’s lives away from the world. The age should increase on enlisting in the military because it causes harm to the people enlisting in the military. The person that enlists in the military does not know the effects when he or she joins. These effects, like going into war and risking your life every single day. The person that enlists is not mentally strong enough, to see and feel all the emotions that go on war like seeing people being injured and even worse, being killed. Feeling all the emotions like depression, homesickness, and sadness. An eighteen-year-old should not be in this kind of situations. The age to enlist in the military should increase to twenty-one because then a person is fully matured and could have more knowledge of what goes on in the military rather than experiencing when a person is
