The United States is considered by many to be the greatest country ever. It has one of the largest military bases, you have freedom of speech and religion, and the one thing people who migrate to this country chase, the American dream. However, what is the one thing that most people seem to forget? That the greatest country ever, the most prevailing power in the world, is also the only westernized developed country without a successful health care system. Health care is a heated topic that carries a strong dispute set apart by people and politicians who argue that the country requires a kind of socialized system that will permit increased government contribution. Universal healthcare is described as ensuring that all people have access to needed care, such as preventive, curative and rehabilitative health services, as well as receiving great quality care to be competent, while also ensuring that people do not suffer financial suffering when paying for these services. Health care is supposed to be full of compassion and understating for the sick. However, an estimated 3.2 million of Americans have entered the ranks of the uninsured in 2017 (Auter, Z., 2018). This number continues to grow in present time, as insurance, medications, and healthcare in general only continues to rise in price. Such conditions are unfair, and it is time for the U.S government to provide universal health care coverage for its entire people. The U.S has a big issue when it comes to the healthcare system, it needs to find a solution where it will be inclusive of all its citizens whether they are rich, middle class, or poor. As well as implement a system that will make it affordable for patients to be able to seek care from their doctors and specialist without having to pay high deductibles or co-pays. It is time and needed for the United States healthcare system to become humane again, and to start caring more about its patients rather than the profits that can come from it.
