Current Problem
Since the beginning of the human civilization, there have been many problems that pose threat to people’s lives. Mother Nature had been mercifully providing to humans the crucial necessities such as foods, shelters, resources and etc. However, while humans benefit from the Nature, they also have to fight against the Nature at the same time. Natural disasters have been the major killer of our race since it is unstoppable. Although the rapidly improving technology in nowadays can predict the size and estimated arrival time of the natural disasters, it cannot protect people from getting hit by them. Humans have been protecting themselves by living in a safe shelter, which starts out from ancient caves to earthquake-proof buildings, but the data released every year tells people that the natural disasters cannot be stopped.

Also, other features of Aerogel such as hydrophobicity and shock/soundproof prove that it is less susceptible to damages from natural disasters. However, market trends indicate a rapid displacement of coated bubble by a technologically inferior yet inexpensive uncoated product. Burgeoning demand for uncoated bubble poses a direct threat to the long-term viability of the technologically superior, premium priced AirCap.
Project responsibility is assigned to the division’s Research and Development Group: Mike Richards, the project scientist who developed the product, is assigned responsibiliy for project management. Our group called “Kinder” has decided to estimate the drag coefficient on Kinder’s egg container which is quite similar to the cylinder. Particularly that cylinder is experiencing the flow over its flat face. Its drag coefficient is going to be measured in fluid of air wind. The airflow would be supplied by ordinary hair dryer. The velocity of air wind will be measured by the help of anemometer, which we would construct by ourselves with improvised materials such as plastic cups, pencil, pin and straws. Particularly the coefficient of drag is going to be measured by the hanging object on pendulum and directing the airflow to the flat face. The relevance of our shape is that it could be used in helicopter construction due to the similarity of basis of it. In addition, some bullets’ drag coefficient can be also calculated with the help of the container.

There are 2,300 year round employees with a surge of 4,500 employees during the peak construction periods. XYZ Construction Inc. began in the late 1950’s as a privately owned family business. Recently, the family would like to move the company into the public sector within a 12 month period. XYZ Construction, Inc. performs horizontal construction with specialties in: Roads Bridges Airfields (Klinger, 2012).
I believe that with the groundbreaking with the use of composites in aerospace, that slowly, the consumer population will be more welcoming to these new products into the market, especially once they have been put to the test and surpassed everyone’s expectations. Safety of flight is always the number one concern when trying to do something new with aircraft, and the more advanced our technology becomes, the better our safety records will be, and in turn it will raise the confidence of world travelers.
Are we allotting enough funding for aerospace research? At the present time, significant progress in aerospace research will not be made for a long time. It is sad that we don’t place more urgency on such an important field. Yes, there is still research being conducted in the field; however, limited funding prevents significant advancement. Even though humans are building constructions to prevent natural disasters, Mother Nature overpowers them by provoking natural disasters. Some of which is when a tornado hit Queens, New York in 2012; the tornado exceeded the sea shore of the beach, hit benches, and carried and threw away garbage cans (Williams, 2012). Two years before, an earthquake struck Youngstown, and this natural disaster was caused by Youngstown's people (Choi, 2013).In 2008, a devastating flood wet most of New Orleans due to the built up dams. The Hirakud dam was also built to prevent dams and improve irrigation in Orissa, India, but a flood destroyed the town instead; Orissa is small town ad whatever catastrophes happen to it endangers the whole demographic. This incident led to sixty-eight deaths and four and an half million people undergoing hunger hardships, and 2,999km road was ruined too. (Panda, 2008) Therefore, people should realize defying Mother Nature and constructions preventing natural disasters might actually worsen their society's current situation.
Vulnerable groups are individuals who require special attention before, during and after natural disasters occur. They include women, children, prisoners, the elderly and persons with disabilities. In the event of sudden natural disasters like earthquakes and storms, very few strategies can be implemented. In the unforeseen instances of these disasters, vulnerable people run the risk of ultimately having disastrous consequences if adequate preparations are not made.
From the Wright Flyer to the aircraft we fly today, they all started as a dream that later turned into a design. NASA is not sending astronauts into space at the moment, but that has not stopped the engineers at NASA from working on advanced aerodynamic designs and technologies that would help us achieve the dream of traveling farther, faster and higher. Improved materials such as carbon-fiber give an aircraft lighter weight, improved performance and lower fuel consumption. NASA’s newest design in carbon-fiber is called “PRSEUS” (Pultruded rod, Stitched, Efficient, Unitized Structure), a material that will be stronger than current carbon-fiber technology and will greatly reduce the need for rivets and other fasteners that lead to structural fatigue. NASA believes this new material will help Boeing achieve its goal of an aircraft of blended wing design (Sloan, 2011). The production and use of silica aerogels is nonthreatening to the environment. No considerably hazardous wastes are created during their construction. The disposal of silica aerogels is harmless. In the environment, they quickly crush into a fine powder that is basically identical to sand. Additionally, silica aerogels are completely non-toxic and non-flammable. If they eventually find their way into widespread use, they could eradicate a very large amount of unwanted, hazardous plastic materials.
