The typical choices are trekking to natural wonders and visiting extreme sports venues. However, now is the time to think out of the box and try some options which are chosen only by a brave few. The following choices can make some people cringe or be left in state in shock. However, this is the essence of going into an adventure – to be in a situation where certainty is a scarce commodity. Here we go. First we have ghetto tourism. This is going to the inner heart of a city, or the ghetto as some call it. This means experiencing the life of people who are in such places. More than just the violent culture that is usually associated with places like these, one will be able to see the ghetto beneath its superficial facade. The ghetto will be seen by the tourist as not just a place where crime takes over, but a place of rich culture, or outward expression, a place where man is more in touch with himself than anywhere else. Second is disaster tourism. Disaster tourism means going to a place where a catastrophe has occurred. This may be for purposes of curiosity like what most people did in the streets of the Guatemala after the gigantic sinkhole, or for humanitarian intentions like what some people did when the earthquake in Haiti struck. But then, one must be careful so that he does not become a hindrance in relief efforts instead of being a helping hand. This happens when over-inquisitive tourists become hindrances by getting in the way. Sadly, this has happened many times in the past, so that d... ... middle of paper ... ...w-cost carriers like JetBlue and Tiger Airways belong the newer breed of airline companies. They rely mainly on early and full booking to cut down on costs, which will in turn enable them to sell tickets at a much lower price, compared to traditional carriers. This is important when price is a major factor in business decisions, as it will allow a businessman to go from point A to point B at a very small fraction of the cost. However, full booking typically translates to a plane having all seats tagged as coach, so a businessman may be seated beside a crying baby, a couple on a honeymoon, and the like. Some passengers do not mind this, but you may. All these can be experienced due to the lack of partitioning. To save money, go for low-cost airlines. To protect your sanity, go for traditional carriers. Choose the one that best suits you.
The proliferation of crises around the world has led to a prominent increase in the amount of humanitarian aid needed. Humanitarian aid work represents not only compassion, but commitment to support innocent populations that have experienced sudden or on-going tragedies. Some of these tragedies include: malnutrition, genocide, diseases, torture, poverty, war, natural disasters, government negligence, and unfortunately much more. There is no doubt that these tragedies are some of the world’s toughest problems to solve as they are often complex, multifaceted and require diligence and patience. For this reason, being a humanitarian aid worker is more than a profession, it is a lifestyle that requires a sharp distinction between one’s work and
Adventure is a great source for a person to appreciate life, even though some people might not like to go on an adventure as much, but it could really help to seize some peace. Adventure comes in numerous categories, but you have to choose which one might be the right one for you. It is a combination of an exciting bold, and risky activity full of potential and dare which can give you a rare experience. It can change the way you live your life. There is always fear about what lies ahead on an adventure, like you are going sky diving, you don’t know if that parachutes will work or not

There are many interesting trends occurring in the global travel industry today, and one of the most notable is the growing impact of affluent travelers from “emerging” market countries on travel spending and investment. According to Trekksoft.com, tourists in 2016 will be looking for opportunities to explore lesser-known destinations, especially those that are untouched or unique. It’s going to be a huge year for adventure travel, with many people wanting
Avoid “add-on” fees for airline tickets. Flying coach instead of business class, avoiding seat upgrades or preferred seating, and checked baggage fees, using Uber or Lyft instead of taxis to and from the airport can also save the company money (Morris, 2016).
Lower prices draw a larger audience. When tickets are inexpensive and in high-demand, audiences are drawn to that event, thus creating a
Another reason why slum tourism should not be allowed is because the image of the country may be tarnished, and they glamorize poverty. The article “The Pros and Cons of Slum Tourism” by Leyla Giray Alyanak provides many examples of how slum tourism is not good, and should not be allowed. It states that the wealthier population does not agree with slum tourism because it makes the rest of the country look bad. By publicizing slums, people make them seem “exotic”, but may also make the whole country look impoverished.

We don’t often think of an adventure as therapeutic, but often times that’s exactly what we seek in them. We want a little slice of peace, a pause from our problems. To pursue adventure is to pursue that old thing that was around before there were jobs and social roles. It is exploration, the walk. Sometimes, even if we map it out, our adventure has no goals.
To explore any new area a person must not be shy or fearful. A sense of adventure is a must for any successful explorer, as they should have a positive attitude and desire to see and learn about new things. An explorer needs to be ready to conquer new places and accept the possibility of failure. “In 2012 filmmaker James Cameron became the first man to make a solo dive to the bottom of Challenger Deep.” (A Club For Explorers pg 3).

Adventure Tourism is a part of the tourism industry. It is a kind of leisure activity for a specific group of customers with clarified expectations.
Adventure tourism: tourism involving travel in rugged regions, or adventurous sports such as mountaineering and hiking (tramping).
One of the first attempts to define tourism was that of two Swiss academics, Professors Hunziker and Krapf of Berne University. They defined tourism in a 1942 study as a complex of environmental impacts: “the sum of the phenomena and relationships arising from the travel and stay of non-residents, in so far as they do not lead to permanent residence and are not connected to any earning activity.” This definition has been acknowledged by many international associations including the International Association of Scientific Experts on Tourism (AIEST). The advantages of this definition are is acknowledgements of wide-ranging impacts; it bases a very large number of issues that is studied under the name ‘tourism’. Additionally, Krapf and Hunziker’s definition is highly intellectual as they manage to distinguish tourism from migration however; its theory is based on “travel and stay” making an assumption that this is necessary for tourism, thus preventing day tours. While the definition’s approach is reasonable, the definition is noticeably “too vague” (Leiper, 1995: 17) as it includes a huge amount of human activity that few thinking individuals would regard as coming within the scope of tourism. Because of their broad definition on tourism, prisoners, hospital patients, boarding students and soldiers at war can easily fit in the definition, thus exposing a major defect.
This same craving to appear as something else drives individuals to pick new destinations portrayed in tourism ads as fascinating spearheading, unfamiliar, new, unexplored or primitive. As long as the sign posted course and the most visited places as towns and developed resorts, remain part of the international tourism system, they will be carefully avoided, to the benefit of protected areas and intensely rural spaces which in theory suggest a more authentic knowledge. When all is said and done, these destinations, once esteemed a long way from the standard visit and just went to by alternative visitors, are in the end found by mass tourism and shaped into the image of the developed resorts. Alternative tourism is recognized by the most unique types of welcome and the chosen style of the tourism development. It can be either a specific kind of accommodation or adaption of an exemplary recipe where suitable. Alternative tourism can likewise be characterized by the particular tour operators who function in this sector with particular objectives.
